Leagues and Divisions Galore

Never suggested thst G should run boxing - set matches/rankings/rules ETC. No that would be very bad, almost as bad as the scantioning bodies, promoters, and Casinos.

I was suggesting that instead of a league or a union leave things as they are now BUT have G tax the hell out of people like Steve Wynn, Bob Arum, Eddie Hearn and the scantioning bodies and put that money in trust for fighters pensions and medical care.

They make so much off the fights and give so little back to the game. Does anyone really need the WBC ro create and brag about a six million dollar championship belt? When that kind of money can be placed in federal bonds and begin to grow a powerful trust fund for fighters.

Anyway I am a big advocate of the independent fighter allowed to control his own fate. Read my other posts and you will see that.

I don't want G involved at that level, nor do I want a league or union either. Just TAX those who take so much and give it back to the fighters in the form of pensions and medical care. (Of course I am talking about the common pug (not the multi- million dollar fighters) who usually has nothing when it is all done.)

But just in case we still can't agree. . . 'Get off my lawn punk!'

Eh. I think boxers should handle their own business better more than it needs to be forced on anyone else in the business. Boxers all know this is a limited time career & that they shouldn't be buying the $120k car when they get a $500k check. But all too often they are making poor decisions like that when they are among the few who get to those sorta top 1% checks in boxing. And guys that are making $30k a year or less just need to realize boxing isn't their career path & gtfo of the sport sooner than they do while spending some of their money getting skills for a longer term career.

And I mean if PBC has showed boxers anything its that you don't need anything but a manager with a platform deal & with all the SM platforms coming on board every day I suspect you could make a "Onlyfans for fights" where folks just pay you a fee to have access to their fights. Boxers need to work smarter not harder.

I do think getting rid of promoters power is a much easier task then getting rid of ABC groups powers specifically cuz everyone does want these cheesy looking belts so are providing a service no one else wants to do or can do for whatever reasons. I think the only way you could get rid of ABC groups power is by way of a league.

A freak fight federation needs to start a pension fund now for freak fighters who want to retire early. The early retirement option should bring in droves of prospects, from husky ******s to illegal aliens.
