    Unk

that sounds a lot like the Holmes Shavers fight... Even though Larry did not get dropped, Shavers hurt him.

Foreman fighting Jimmy Young a classic runner/stinker most claim beat Ali, and who was Tubby Lar who was still skinny fighting on the same card?

Horace shame for the shameless: https://boxrec.com/en/event/291/322

I think that the Foreman prior to his fight with Ali would take Holmes. Foreman was not as good after that IMHO. Holmes did not have the chin that Ali had. Remember Larry's fight with Reynaldo Snipes?

I think Larry was easier to knock down but he sure recovered most of the time except against Tyson. And yes, Foreman had Tyson-esque power. It's a good point. It can go either way of course.

                Larry was dropped, for sure.
It has been argued, that this is the hardest punch any boxer have survived from, to emerge a winner.

Larry’s rather incomprehensible explanation to how he was able to get on his feet after the punch was,
that “Earnie hit me too hard” … ??? …

LOL. A lot of fighters apparently use this logic. "He hit me so hard I went out and woke up! just had to figure out how to get back and control everything." foreman said similar thing about fighting Lyle.

Maybe in the sense that he went straight down (hard) and didn't hang there for a second punch e.g. Douglas-Tyson - the uppercut hung him up thr second punch was the KO blow. Happens often.

                    MAYBE that's what he ment.

But on the other hand I have also read of fighters who state that a punch would daze them but then the second punch would wake them up. ????

I'd probably expect Holmes to be the winner by decision... He would stick with the jab and would be tough enough and have enough ring craft to keep out of danger. If we are talking about the older versions then I think Foreman would probably win.. Late tko.
