That night they showed it close circuit at (I think Shea Stadium) they had a pre live show with Chuck Wepner v. Andre the Giant (with Gorilla Monson as Andre's second.) They threw each other around the ring and out of the ring. The fans loved it, but when the real match/bout came on it was boring as hell and the naive fans started chanting fixed.
At least that's how I interpreted the night.

This is what amuses me about Mayweather fans. Floyd makes his money off them and yet they will defend him from anything. When Floyd has finally gone quiet and living in his mansion with their money - maybe they will realize...

- -Staged 'rasslin' count after being tossed onto the concrete by Andre...duh!
Anyway, the Japanese wanted a real mixed bout, so to get Ali in the ring for $6mil, they had to agree to neuter Antonio down to 20% of his capacity which is why they had Gene Lebelle as the ref as Gene could do more than just break up fights.
End of the night American boxing and Ali shamed not that it matters to shameless American fans...
