    Boxing's Classy Moments.

If you like share your favorite moment of a classy act from the game.

    Mine . . .

Team Hagler: I once heard that the Brothers Petroneli knowing it would be his last go told Hagler that the Leonard fight was 'his payday' and they were opting not to take their percentage. Hagler refused and insisted the contract sign as usual. A class act on both sides.

Joe Louis donating his fight earnings to the armed forces during WW2. Sadly he got screwed, but the gesture was pure class.

          - -As "crass" as Ali could be to put it politely, his class acts were legend, a complete contradiction typical of mankind in general. Ex-Frank Sinatra... Max Schmeling paid for the Joe Louis Funeral. The Ks are involved in international charities. Not related to boxing, but I'm permanently steamed over Roberto Clemente after having provided aid to Central American earthquake victims only to have it seized by the local tinpot for personal gain, he partook a new personal delivery where he lost his life in the overloaded plane crash. At least his orphaned children grew up with his heroism enshrined in history...

Pacquiao has donated about $200M of his career earnings to help the poor in the PI. Approximately half of his earnings go to charity.

In post-retirement Archie Moore funded the ABC Youth Foundation and donated much of his time helping at-risk youth in San Diego and trying to keep them off the streets.

              How we fear covid-19 …

And at the time, it was believed AIDS could kill you if you got close to an
              infected person.

Whatever Duran accomplished in the rings, that hug was a greater moment.

Yeah I agree. That was quite a moment.

Nice. But I thought Hagler didn't decide until later that he would retire. Wasn't he trying to get a rematch from Leonard after that fight?

Didn't Ali hold back against Quarry? I remember a fight where he was looking at the ref because the opponent was basically helpless. Some of those old school refs were masochistic.
