I haven't done that I'm just not as certain that Dempsey was as committed to defending against Wills as Johnson was against the black trio.
Its known Kearns did not want the Wills fight,its known Rickard did not want it and, though publicly Muldoon supported it its believed by many historians that privately he did not. Dempsey was not a promoter and so the onus obviously was not on him to stage the fight,how much he wanted the fight I don't know;That's my position,which perhaps I phrased wrongly?
