    Floyd Patterson

I recently made a video tribute to one of my favorite boxers of all time, former heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson.

Most of the footage is from a document named 'the Floyd Patterson story', commented by Patterson himself, along with the fights I have of him against Archie Moore, Johansson, Ellis, Bonavena and Ali.

I looked for Patterson vs Henry Cooper which I used to have, it was a very good showing by Patterson but I couldn't find it anywhere.

The quality is poor, I couldn't upload it otherwise since it lasts almost 20 minutes.

I have made other boxing 'tributes' as well but I've always had a problem with uploading them. I'm not very good at making videos but since I have the footage I might as well share it.

It's okay; a lot of the quality of old vids isn't great anyway. Man, that knockdown at :14 was epic. Looked just like Lewis vs. Rahman. K sent! Great vid!

Ah, what could have been had Floyd never went to heavyweight. Hev was a decent heavy, but I enjoy watching him so much before he moved up there. In my opinion, one of the most gifted fighters of the past 75 years.

Nice video. I always liked Floyd. He often gets unfairly dismissed nowadays, but he didn't do so bad and had some good wins in his career.

Really??? I have found very few of his fights in full before he moved up to heavyweight outside of clips like the ones shown in the Patterson story the only fight i have seen in full at light heavy was the Troy and Maxim fights, I think i have about 25 Patterson fights at the moment.
He was a very good heavyweight a great combination puncher great power great footwork the only thing he really lacked was a chin, I love watching Patterson's fights at heavyweight a few weeks back i watch his first title defence against Jackson.
That’s a good documentary i downloaded it of wbva last year, also worth a read is the Patterson Bio Victory over my self.

Would have been interesting to see how well he would have done had he stayed at light heavyweight but heavyweight was where the money was and he did just fine there.

I have caught a few of his fights below heavyweight on ESPN classic. The one that always comes to mind for me is the Don Grant fight. Pattersons power, speed and reflexes were comparable to a young Roy Jones in my opinion.

I have always been convinced that had Floyd stayed at lightheavy he would have been talked about among the all time greats. His chin wouldn't have been near the question mark it was at heavy.

Thanks for the info on the Patterson bio. Right now I am reading Larry Holmes autobiography, but when Im done I will look for a copy of Floyds book.
