How are Joe Louis's opponents any better than Tysons'?

Louis wasn't abused - looks like we got another new guy who repeats CW cliches, with no research effort, under the pretention he knows the history of the game.

Minimum research effort would have shown that the father was committed to an asylum when Louis was a toddler.

Mother remarried thus making him the second youngest of a large combined family.

The mother's great concern was the streets of Detroit when Louis became a teen, thus the famous violin lessons story.

Poorly educated, with signs of a learning disability, in particular a stammer when talking, which was probably the cause of his quiet nature as an adult. Certainly brighter than his verbal capabilities suggested.

As a child most histories suggest he was very poorly educated but loved as a child.

Nor do I see Tyson as ALL BAD. Joe Louis did some bad things and both were abused financially, but Joe had class and stability overall where as Mike under proper conditions could show class, as soon as he sees someone trying to abuse him he goes off.

Yes he was a serial adulterer and a largely absent Father,he also nearly throttled his then lover Lena Horne in a lovers spat,but he never mugged old ladies, tried to have sex with an 11 years old girl had to have parents bought off by his managers because he acted sexually innapropriately towards their daughters and he never beat up civilian parking attendants,bit off part of an opponents ear or tried to break an opponents arm, or was convicted of ****.Maybe we have different criterias regarding acceptable standards?

Well Tyson was a man child. But Louis doesnt really get all the details about his life put on paper. Its like Robinsons books, most of them are typical 40s style glamorizations focusing on the positive, they never talk about Robinson knocking his wife cold and running a brothel upstairs above his restaurant. Joe and robby were close friends and joe had a nasty coke addiction later in his career. I doubt the man was perfect.

Robinson's propensity to beat his wife up is common knowledge as is the fact she suffered at least one miscarriage as a result.His own son deals with it in one book.

There have been many bios of Louis I doubt there is anything of significance that hasnt been already covered.I found his own auto biography refreshingly honest.

In my book he is a 24 carat ass hole . None of which ,[same as SRR,] takes anything away from his talents as a fighter.
