Ray Leonard overrated

Can't see leonard being overated. He beat duran, hearns, benitez and hagler. In his prime he was an incredible fighter who had just about everything. Vicious puncher too.

The only thing that you could count against him is that he only had 40 fights but looking at the quality of big fight wins, he stands out. I wouldn't pick any fighter in history to confidently beat him at welter. He could well have beaten, srr, floyd, manny etc. Id pick him to come out on top in that company.

greb, langford, srr and Charles id place above him in an all time p4p list but after that hes in the conversation with another dozen or so others.

Outside of Michael Spinks and Loma, there aren’t very many fighters who have accomplished so much in a short career span as Leonard. Yes, his win versus Hagler was controversial as was his rematch win over Hearns at a catchweight, but he did beat a prime Hearns, Benitez and Duran, though Duran had very short notice to lose almost 40 pounds for the rematch. Still, Leonard is a former champ in five weight classes inside of only 40 fights. Olympic gold medalist too.

Sanchez had more fights, took longer to win a title. Pryor isn't even in the same stratasphere as Leonard. Give it up and have another drink.

I can’t give credit to Pryor, particularly his tainted win over Arguello and the special water bottle. Not to mention Arguello was not his best at 140, and was past his peak. I don’t see any other wins on Pryor’s resume that convince me of his greatness.

Sanchez was on his way to all time greatness. Everything points to it from his skill set to his resume. Had he not died so tragically we may very well be talking about him as the greatest featherweight ever.
