Another thread, another day...
Wanna name someone, not just a defensive fighter, with a more impressive ledger than Loughran's?
Besides Cerefino Garcia, of course

Hasn't he s h it on the section enough? Doesn't he have other forums to take a s hit in?
In related news... last night, totally arbitrarily... Queenie bumped into a "fact." He did not recognize what it was... he asked Rusty about it, and crickets indeed...

It's certainly a skill to make someone miss as it gives you counter punching oppourtunities. Some of the truly best defensive fighters are a lot more textbook though. Like Hopkins didn't get hit much his entire career until much later, Leonard as well. People go on about Leonard's chin but he barely got hit. Even Duran only touched him a few times, likewise Leonard barely hit him. Just when they connected it was fireworks.
Another consideration is good defense means not getting hit flush. Getting hit by light punches doesn't mean much and may serve the fighter better not to fall for bait. Duran in my book had one of the best defense in the game. Everyone who faced him struggled to hit him clean and he was right in front of them for 15 rounds.
