One of our idiots down here in Florida (and we have many) got himself taken out by his pet bird.

Dude, I can believe it. Wild animals are smart enough to know the value of a free lunch, but when people mistake that for domesticity bad things happen. People just aren't made for taking abuse.

The whole concept of "trained" is to go against how nature provided us the means to defend ourselves. Primate physiology which we also, as primates are endowed, uses blunt force going downward, crushing down on an adversary. Now look at your body... Notice how you are protected from a downward blow? I hit to your head, your eyes, nose and throat are protected
by your forehead and chin (the throat)... your groin is drawn in as well.

Trained means going against gravity and hitting "up" into the targets so they are more accesible and by hitting straight, getting their faster. Hitting up, I catch the groin, the plexus, the throat.

But what you fail to realize is that a chimp's physiology has perfected the means to crudely hit down and use the teeth. The strength is increased dramatically with anger/adrenaline, and chimps, monkeys have a much greater threshhold for pain. Most human beings who have some strength would have a hard time fighting a full grown male Macque much less an ape.

The chimp fights on all fours to keep its genitals away from the action. I believe a big male chimp with a steel jock can defeat most dogs. But such matchups are quite arena-contingent. The chimp probably wins in a swimming pool, for instance. One dunk and the dog will breath in water, dooming itself. Meanwhile the chimp's muscles are so dense that it sinks to the bottom on its own. That's a fact. Any chimp smart enough to hold its breath for a few seconds defeats a dog in three feet or more of water.

Another fact is that chimp anatomy did not change to make way for larger brains. Their jaws and skulls remained heavy while our bones thinned and made way for additional soft tissue. Translation: they can take a hella punch. You will not hurt them much with a punch. They bump themselves harder than that when they are swinging around squabbling with each other.

I mean if you taught them to use a gun or even an axe, they'd have even more success.

I'm not certain they have the reflexes or the stamina though to handle all canines. Certainly the more dogs you add to the equation the much worse the chimp's prospects. And it's easier to train a dog, or even a Wolf, than it is a chimp.

A 100 lb. Wolf would WRECK the biggest chimp.

Weak leopards, pushed from the prime hunting grounds, prey on full sized gorillas. Apes just aren't meant for combat.

I'm not certain they have the reflexes or the stamina though to handle all canines. Certainly the more dogs you add to the equation the much worse the chimp's prospects. And it's easier to train a dog, or even a Wolf, than it is a chimp.

Rusty: Animals and their fighting skills are not evolved to have Roman matches: lion against goats, etc etc... they evolved to work for the animals in the threats they faced. I doubt you have any idea about Gorillas and Leopards...

Chimps, as has been recently established, hunt, eat meat and can be aggressive, to the point of killing each other...just like us.

And ignoramus? wolfs generally attack in packs... So a Wolf is not designed to fight one on one. You would not find a lone wolf against a chimp lol. It would be highly unlikely.
