didn't he fight Johnson! And BTW Jim was way past his prime at the time! And in that era he was just like George Foreman!
He was pressured by his racist friends to fight Johnson. During his stint as champion, he ducked Johnson, as well as many other deserving black contenders.

Foreman was a lot bigger than many of his opponents as well at almost 6'4" and 220 ripped lbs. How successful would Foreman be manhandling a 250 lb Klitschko or 300 lb Valuev. Not nearly as effective I'd imagine.
I put his strength right up there with Foreman's personally. Maybe a bit weaker for the first few rounds, but much better muscular endurance and stamina and overall a better physical man and athlete than Big George in the long haul. Jeffries was a beast. 220 lbs in that era tells you all you need to know about his natural strength and musculature. Put him in Foreman's era where he's eating better and he's 235 no problem IMO. Today he'd be a lean 250 at under 6% bf unquestionable. His legs, arms, and chest would be huge if he was benching, squatting, doing deadlifts. He'd maybe Tyson look ordinary.
Guy ran 15 miles a day, didnt eat much by his own admission (didnt believe in eating heavy), and came in 220 anyway. He weighed 250-270 between fights when he wasn't running and was a somewhat chunky (but not grossly obese) 320 after he retired.
Ran a 10 sec. 100 meter dash (no steroids, weightlifting, plyommetrics, or even serious training in running) which was olympic level in the day, high jumped 6 feet.
One of the greatest physical specimens in ring history, whether he was racist or not. That's just the honest truth.
