Holyfield would always give him problems. Bowe probably would have beaten him. Larry Holmes of course. Vitali Klitschko...

Even Chris Byrd would give him problems being a slick boxer with a good chin. He'd probably beat him.

          - - Lar was the giant sucking sound after Ali, Joe, and George retired leaving Norton on his last legs who whooped the tar balls out of Lar their first fight.

When George was active fighting top fighters, Lar was scaping by journeymen.

40+ Foreman had Field hanging on for dear life in the championship rounds and arguably won that fight. God help him in George prime. Big Dummy ducks George like he did Lewie. Vit could cause problems in a 50/50 fight.

          Yer welcome...

Na! Probably Holmes' best moment career wise.

I usually buy into your alternative arguments to the CW, but don't take away a fighter's best effort just to make a point.

I agree with you both here for the most part.

Foreman destroyed Joe Frazier, how can we forget about that beating? He was like a literal human bouncy ball getting bounced around the ring like 6 times.
He destroyed Norton in two rounds as well and turned him into a human Pinyata when scoring multiple uppercuts with his right. I think George in his prime was unrivaled. He is the gold standard. I measure other fighters off of him, not the other way around.

If Foreman had a better trainer he would have been unstoppable.
BINGO!! At least after the Ali fight, although he wasn't as well known to the casual fan back then, I think Emanuel Steward would've utilized his physical gifts the best. He would've adapted well, as he already "boxed tall". Ahhh, one can dream...lol

                      - - It was certainly on his last legs Norton best effort, surpassing his 3 Ali "wins" when he was at his best, but it was a DKing fight, and like George, Ken the Mandingo soft prrrn hunk had gotten bigger than the King stable and had to be set back to more manageable levels.

Until Blubber came along, Lar the most overrated heavy in history.
