Lewis record is every bit as good as Louis or Ali’s and retired at the top.
Louis got knocked out by Schmeling and had many a dud fight as champion ....galento ffs
He is the only man besides Ali to regain the title 3 times....Tyson was stripped of his title because he refused to fight Lewis in 1996....Lewis dominated Tony tucker who Tyson boxed and was rocked by.....destroyed ruddock in 2 rounds who went life and death with Tyson 2 times.
As I said Lewis beat them all and I don’t **** what you think or say lol
Bowe lost 2 Holyfield in the 2nd fight and was let off the hook in the 3rd fight by Holyfield
Bowe also chucked is belt in the bin rather that face Lewis and that was an agreed fight.
Do actually know the history of fighters you are talking about ?

You know Louis didn't just get bombed out by McCall and Rahman, and beat by Mercer, he was also getting out-boxed by Bruno, and damn near beat by a half-dead Holyfield.
Bowe had KO'd Holyfield several years earlier, and faded Holyfield beat the fook out of Lewis on the inside.
And why didn't Lewis fight Sanders? Because we all know how that goes.
The fact is, Lewis never faced anyone as good as Schmeling, Conn or Marciano. Obviously his opponents were much bigger, but they were far less skilled.
You laugh about Galento, but look at the Tua and Tyson fights. Lewis didn't even want to engage. And we all get the feeling that if those two DID land, we'd see a major upset. Steward really had to get the fire going under his ass against tyson. And the Tua fight was feeling monotonous mid-rounds. Louis probably could've hid behind his jab all night against Galento, too. But being a man and not intending to insult his audience fought the way a Heavyweight champion ought to fight.
Let's not pretend that Wlad, Vitali, Wilder and Fury wouldn't wreck Lewis. That's 4 dudes right there you can rank over him. 4 dudes right there who can take a shot and not quit like a bi*tch.

Louis would knock out Wlad within three rounds. Wlad chin was glassy. When hit hard he falls in sections.

You say they ran from George but they was knocked out by Lewis easily.
You make excuse up for Holyfield and yet Lewis dominated him MSG and beat him in Vegas ....you make excuses up for bowe and yet he was the one who vacated his belt rather than face Lewis ....Lewis was 38 when he stopped klitchcko with cuts and only 6 rounds had gone and Lewis was starting to take him apart...Lewis would have ripped his face apart even more if that fight had continued.
The ref stopped the fight because klitchcko was torn to shreds and needed 60 stitches after the fight
Joe Louis was getting knocked by rocky Marciano when he was 37..,..Ali was getting stopped by Holmes when he was 38.
Yiu don’t have a ****ing clue what your talking about....Tyson paid step aside money to Lewis to avoid him.
Mercer would give anybody a tough fight plain and simple.
Tromboni your an idiot who should not be let loose on a boxing forum....your clueless and full of double standards when it suits your agenda.
Corrie sanders was already beaten by Rachman in 2000 and would only go on to face Wladimir in 2003 when Lewis had retired that year
If your gonna talk like you know boxing at least get some knowledge ffs

I agree. Second only to Trav whose intent is to deceive. Lewis focused and prime knocks out each. Lewis only faltered when coming into a bout in less than great shape/unfocused. Lewis was a high level pedigree heavyweight champion.

We are always trying to define the GOAT by comparing fighters H2H or evaluating opponents, measuring size, speed, power, Etc.
Why not judge each fighter based just on his own career, do that and it's a no brainer, it's Joe Louis.
He held the title the longest (with help from a world war no doubt) he had the most defenses, he left no questions unanswered, he carried the title with distinction; he mastered the martial art, he was exiting to watch, he was loved . . . and he won a lot (66-3-0)
You can't find a better HW Championship tenure. He, when compared across the board, had the "greatest" career.
Even when it came time for him to embarrass himself by staying around too long, he barely did. Neither of his loses to Marciano or Charles were embarrassing.
Maybe it's not the definition of "the greatest" you want, but it is one of the definitions for being called the GOAT.
Is Tom Brady the GOAT? Many had better arms, some could read a defense better, way too many had better wheels under them, and others were better leaders, but he had the best career. So they call him the GOAT.
In boxing that's Joe Louis.

I’m more analytical than just looking at records. That’s the easy part.
I look very deep into skills and those attributes that define an ATG fighter. THEN I look at records.
Louis checks all the boxes. Unparalleled once in a lifetime skills. ATG at a very high level. Fine combination of great boxer and great puncher.
