The boxing scene forum rating system is obviously flawed if this guy gets an "undisputed champion". I dont think either of those things you mentioned are funny. Nobody ducks zbik. I have nothing against him but what is there to be afraid of? Pirog beat danny jacobs and now he calls out everybody. Mandatory challengers are a joke in boxing. Didn't Maqrtinez throw out that belt anyway... not sure about that. Being 1-1 against williams is nothign to scoff at. That being said, you, paul williams, and I all know that was a razor close fight. And not to leave this fighting pride guy out, I dont know when sergio fought manfredo. One last note, I like Dzinurik but I'm willing to bet that a rematch at 154 would have a similar end. Martinez is usually a junior middle weight anyway.
GGG has not fought one elite level boxer or boxer puncher.....he isn't hard to hit and when he does cut off the ring, he doesn't always work on the inside
I know this isn't gonna be a popular opinion but I just don't see anything special or extraordinary out of him
Lets see him face some adversity at the top level before some of you guys anoint him as an all time great
Was Matthew Macklin a bum? Which middleweight would you have him face? Cotto has used several excuses, his favorite that he's not a real middleweight. Which is true kind of but then why does he hold claim to the middleweight title? There is no such thing as a 157 champion. Peter Quillin calling GGG out? I haven't heard it. I like Andy lee and Quillin but neither are clamorign to fight him. Even Daniel Jacobs cant make up his mind if he's ready or not and that would be a good fight though he was knocked out by a lesser fighter than Golovkin. Dominic Wade? Your answer is probably going to be Andre Ward, who is a phenomenal fighter but fought his last fight at 172.
Nothin about GGG says PED'S he seems to lack stamina,is not fast at all. He is just good at cutting of the ring and setting his shots up
If you think that's all he's good at you have no real knowledge of the nuances of boxing, you are just repeating things you heard announcers say and since you clearly have a crush on Andre Ward that makes GGG terrible. I like both fighters but the difference is I understand the little things they do that you dont get.
Mayweather was sued by Pacquiao. When Pacquiao's lawyers motioned to subpoena his drug test results, medical records, and contracts with USADA, Mayweather quickly settled the case and paid out a large sum of money in order to keep the requested information private. If Mayweather was clean and wanted to clean up the sport of boxing, why not offer full transparency?
Mayweather has a medical team, which is bizarre since no boxer should have his own medical team. Strength and conditioning coaches, yes. Nutrionist and personal chef, yes. Medical team? Absolutely not.
Mayweather was the subject of an explosive report that indicates that he failed 3 drug tests. Mayweather doesn't go to much length at all to deny this report, opting for the say-nothing-and-it-will-go away option. Mayweather accused Pac of being on PEDs. Pacquiao sued him. And WON.
Mayweather tested 2X for having testosterone-to-epitesterone levels of .8 and .6, a massive red flag that points to doping. Usually when this happens, CIR testing is done as a follow up. Not only did USADA not follow up, but they refuse to do CIR testing because they deem that it is too expensive. VADA charged $16,000 for Provodnikov-Matthysse w/ CIR testing. USADA received $150,000 upfront from Team Mayweather for the Pacquiao fight. Red flag, red flag, red flag.
Mayweather rejected VADA testing. If clean, why reject the use of a qualified and effective testing agency that has caught people and is without controversy?
Mayweather rejected a $5 million dollar fine for a positive result. If clean, why not just agree to it? It literally costs nothing and is an excellent insurance for both fighters.
Mayweather had USADA send out an agreement to Team Pacquiao that allowed a TUE to be retroactively granted in the event that a fighter tested positive for a prohibited drug. This agreement also ludicrously stated that neither the NSAC nor the opposing camp had to be notified. Mayweather actually wanted it in writing that he was allowed to dope.
Mayweather was seen by a doctor and approved and declared fit for combat on the day of the weigh in. If he was dehydrated, nevermind severely dehydrated, the doctor would have noticed it. And Mayweather himself signed off on being 100% ready and fit for combat in 24 hours.
Mayweather had banned fluids totaling 750 ML administered in the privacy of his home and was then given approval for a TUE (The****utic Use Exemption) close to 3 weeks after the fight. Mayweather received these fluids mere hours after a doctor had cleared him and deemed him ready for competition.
Mayweather does "vampire" facials, a cosmetic procedure that involves a reinjection of a gel-like substance—platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM)—derived from a patient's own blood back into multiple areas of the skin of their face to treat wrinkles. If Floyd's taking blood out of himself to reinject into his face, blood doping is certainly not something he would shy away from.
I'd be interested if you have some citations for a lot of these claims. Not saying you're lying but would be curious to see them.
Im so sick and tired of sergio and his transient/qausi fan base (flomos/pactards/hispanics using sergio as a way to bash other fighters) complaining about getting ducked by chavez jr., pac, floyd, etc....
You are the middleweight champion of the world. That's 160lbs. You should be fighting middleweights. Not clamoring for fights against welterweights specifically Floyd (i cant believe im defending floyd) a career 147 & under fighter about to be on his 6th weight class and Pac, a career 130lb and under fighter on his 8th or 9th weight class and slagging them off for being scared or cherry picking when you are basically doing the same exact damn thing angling for a fight with them.
If Sergio is such a bad ass he should do the righteous thing, the right thing for his legacy and career and STOP DUCKING these guys:
I read somewhere that sergio walks around 170-180 lbs. If 160 is such a barren wasteland then move up to 168 and fight the deepest division in boxing with andre ward, carl froch, lucian bute, arthur abraham and a host of other legitimate contenders.
In conclusion,
STFU larryx, fake sergio fans using sergio as a way to bash certain fighters, and posters with homosexual tendencies in love with sergio face (& quite possibly his ass & c*ck).
I used not bother posting on threads because I couldn't stand people who knew nothing about boxing claiming to be experts. Sergio is a natural light middleweight who happened to fight at 160 because Pavlik was a good fight for him.Asking him to move up to 168 is like asking pacquaio to fight 154 all the time. He isn't picking on little guys he just knows pacquiao and mayweather are the biggest names in boxing and will starve himself to get a shot at them.
Did you just talk about sergio's **** and ass and then call other people homos? Its okay if you are feeling strange feelings he's a goodlooking guy. I can say that because I'm secure enough in my masculinity and heterosexuality to know that saying that doesnt mean im attracted to him.
To the claim he fights nobodies just shows that you only know very mainstream fighters. Dzinurik was and is a very real fighter. He is fighting guys like that because he was just like them 2 years ago.
Chavez jr...........he's massive and can take a punch
He's massive because he loses so much weight its unhealthy. And he has yet to face a puncher anywhere near kirkland. Does Zbik's 1000 ounches count?
Arum was obviously trying to line up Miguel Cotto, and I'm so glad Miguel threw up the deuces at Top Rank and went onto make more money than he'd ever made without Arum. So now Bobby is left with Margarito's one eyed corpse, which Tony won't have a problem doing for the bucks.
Martinez is never gonna happen and it's his fault for staying with Dibella, this guy might just retire without that huge fight (unless Floyd takes him on).
Come on man you cant fault him for being loyal to the man. Lou Dibella is good promoter who does everything he can for Sergio. There is too much risk too little reward for big name fighters to fight him. JCC Jr knows who he is believe me. Sergio fights unknown but very capable fighters because he was in their place two years ago. Dzinurik is very good.
Many people beleive is a huge upset is not cotto will defeat mayweather Paul is very fast and miguel gave him a beating even broke his jaw mayweather will receive that same treatment maybe worse, erase that image that floyd never lose for the first time in his caree, floyd will be defeated and do not get surprise if it is by KO. this is reality.
Is this an 8 year writing this? I am not a grammar Nazi but this post qualifies as illiterate jibberish. I know he is referring to Paulie Malignaggi but there are like 4 run on sentences. Im being mean, I'm sorry...sort of. Anyway to the point of the question, I have a lot of respect for cotto but he just doesn't have the skills.
Chavez Jr better not take it back.
Personally i think itll be a much harder fight for Sergio than he thinks.
Whats your opinion?
He doesn't have to take it back. All he has to say is "oh my promoter decides everything for me. Bob Arum decided what I was going to wear today." He will never fight Sergio but I hope he does.
GGG has crazy sneaky power that isn't so sneaky, but i dunno man with all these ped's running rampant in the sport I am a bit skeptical:dunno: too many fighters over the years have been looking extraordinary only to be exposed as a fraud later on...
Oh and in Golovkin's defense, as hard as he hits he doesnt look especially strong in terms of muscle tone so I doubt he is on anything.
I am quickly starting to lose respect for Martinez. He seems to want a big pay day but only against smaller opponents. Why not fight Ward or Bute? Neither guy to me seems all that big. Chavez looks extremely large in his fights. I think skills as much as size is his main issue with Bute or Ward. Martinez is fine with fighting skilled fighters as long as they are smaller. If a man is bigger than he can't be as skilled ie Pavlik and Chavez.
I respectfully disagree. I think the reason he would fight pavlik and chavez is because he knows his skills are better than pavlik's and it was a great opportunity to beat a good fighter. The reason he wants pacquaio and mayweather is because everyone thinks they are the best in the world and he wants that title for himself. They are also much much bigger draws than ward or bute. The chavez thing is both that he's an undeserving champ who has had the easiest road which I think sergio rightfully resents. But its also that they stripped Martinez of his belt and let chavez fight for it. Hes also also a big draw for some reason.
MARAVAGINA will find a way out. retire. maybe go back 2 bike-riding or sumn. can't believe steroidgio has the nerve 2 call riding a bike a "sport".
I never post on the forum but I went and registered just so i could express how dumb all of this hate on sergio martinez is. He knocked out paul williams. He fought cintron, margarito, dzinyurik, kelly pavlik. Who has chavez fought worthy of any note? zbik is featherfisted and that decision was arguable considering chavez got hit 140 more times. I'm not trying to hate on the kid but he is certainly taking the slow road in terms of getting to the top. 43 fights?
As reported earlier by BoxingScene.com, light heavyweight contender Allan Green (32-4, 22KOs) has withdrawn from tonight's ESPN televised card. On Thursday he was six pounds over the contract limit of 180-pounds for his fight with undefeated prospect Eleider Alvarez (12-0, 8KOs) at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Green came in at 186-pounds, while Alvarez was two pounds under the limit at 178. Green was ordered to give up 20% of his purse, $3,000 dollars, to Alvarez.

You guys never quit do you? Allan Green was never an elite fighter but I have no earthly idea why you guys hate so much. I mean are any of you even boxers? Its unprofessional not to make weight and I dont know anything about food poisoning but lets just take him at his word that he needs to go to the hospital and shut the **** up.
by Cliff Rold - From the perspective of a professional boxing fan, it has to be considered among the great tragedies of fistiana. Kid Chocolate, Kid Gavilan, Jose Napoles, Luis Rodriguez; Cuba had given the sport some of its finest.
After the rise of Castro, Cuba continued to do just that.
They just kept them almost entirely contained to the amateur ranks.
For hardcore fight followers, it can be a nice parlor game to play ‘what if’ with some of the great Cubans of the last fifty-plus years who couldn’t turn professional. Heavyweights Teofilo Stevenson and Felix Savon, Middleweight Ariel Hernandez, Lightweight Mario Kindelan…what’s if’s all around.
There have been just enough defections over the years to make cases, positive and negative, for what might have been. Joel Casamayor had a borderline Hall of Fame career, winning titles at 130 and 135 lbs. Odlanier Solis ate himself out of the running early in his Heavyweight tenure.
Right now, Jr. Featherweight Guillermo Rigondeuax, Jr. Lightweight Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Jr. Middleweight Erislandy Lara are all trying to get to the top of their divisions. All look capable of doing it. Click Here To Read More]
I really like Rigo and certainly appreciate possibly the best amateur fighter ever but have we forgotten who is fighting?
Macau - Argentina's Cesar Cuenca moved a step closer to boxing history by beating China's "IK" Yang Lian Hui on points to win the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior welterweight title in Macau on Saturday.
The undefeated Cuenca improved his professional record to 48 wins (2 KOs), just one short of Rocky Marciano's all-time 49-0 record as he won his first world title on his debut outside his home country.
He dominated from the start in a pulsating bout, knocking the unorthodox Yang (18-1, 13 KOs) backwards in the first round, which was controversially ruled a knockdown by inexperienced Filipino referee Danrex Tapdasan.

I should've bet more money on this. 5-1 odds against Cuenca.
well in this fight it wasnt no flash knockdown , he barley got up and he barley finished,Looking like a pile a shiat after u get knocked down and somehow miraculousley making it till 3 min mark inst exactlkey impressive on the contrary thats quite embarrassing! all that did was open up a pandoras box of questions a rematch and it took a big old shiat on the 9 rounds sergia won previousley.
oh and just because you posted 1000 times it doesn't actually make you "undisputed champion". I dont go to soccer forums and post ridiculous things.
By Lyle Fitzsimmons - For the contrarians who lament the muddled state of championship boxing and suggest we simply do away with sanctioning bodies and ignore their self-serving rules, you have a hero in your midst.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce Miguel Cotto.
The World Boxing Council’s middleweight kingpin (for the time being, at least) struck a blow for title-level disorder Saturday night, but it wasn’t when he dispatched a bloated, non-combative Daniel Geale.
Rather, the Puerto Rican star made his biggest statement after the fight, when he confirmed that his next trick would be to once again step through the Mexico-based organization’s mandatory challenger – Gennady Golovkin – to engineer a pay-per-view match later this year with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
The WBC’s president was smiling in the ring after the TKO and has suggested his alphabet group will sign off on a Cotto-Alvarez match – even though Alvarez holds no belts and has defeated no middleweight contenders – with the proviso that a pre-fight contract be drawn up guaranteeing Golovkin’s got next. I dont know how Lyle can follow boxing for so long and be so wrong so often. Cotto is not the middleweight champion, he's the 157 lb champion. I stole this from someone earlier but didn't feel like figuring out who. He's petrified of Golovkin, has nothing to do with bucking the alphabet titles. Get it together Lyle.
When Gamboa was accused of using roids they used his stomach as a sign. How come no one says anything about Golovkin's?
wtf? How much of a hater and a dick can you be? He has crazy power so he must be on roids? GGG never even looks roided out. Do you have any shred of evidence he's on steroids?
Rosado went 7 rounds by staying on the backfoot. Murray lasted 11 rounds staying in a shell moving in reverse. It's when people fight back Golovkin takes them out. Monroe fights like Lara in a hit & run fashion. If he's durable he could last the distance and steal a few rounds along the way. Adama was able to win a few, don't see why Willie couldn't.[/QUOTE
Monroe could possibly win a few found thought I doubt it. I'm tired of people pointing to the Rosado fight as GGG's weakness. He had the flu the day before the fight and still knocked him out. I'm not saying you are one but GGG has the most haters and I can't understand why. He's the most entertaining fighter there is and he has actual skill outside of his power. And whoever was saying GGG wants a distance I think he means he wants someone to push him that far, he's not going to let up to let someone. You see how he came out against Geale?
Bradley does. He gave Manny a decent fight while not being even close to 100%. Assuming what I have read is true...
yes bradley does deserve it and clearly pac likes giving people rematches since this is the 3rd for marquez. I've seen marquez win all three times though two were close. Frankly I'm kind of bored with the match up. Marquez has nothing to prove.
Following his sixth round knockout loss to WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin on Saturday night, contender Willie Monroe Jr. shared his thoughts on two potential fights involving his conqueror.
Golovkin's name is now linked to superstars Miguel Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who are likely to face each other if Cotto retains his title on June 6th against Daniel Geale.
Monroe discussed how Golovkin would match up against Cotto and Canelo. He actually gives Canelo the edge to beat GGG, but picks the unbeaten middleweight to beat Cotto.

Call me a fanboy or whatever strange insult the trolls on here use but I love Golovkin. He's the definition of entertaining. He has underrated defense. Great chin. Watch how well he was outboxing monroe the first 2 rounds before he threw caution to the wind when he realized he wasn't being hurt and he had monroe hurt.Nicest guy, doesn't have domestic disputes. Just wants to entertain and yea shocking power. He fights often, which some view as fighting bums but I'd rather see him fight a B fighter who will sign a contract than sit on the shelf waiting for a "A" fighter who is scared of him. Who the hell wouldn't get excited about this guy? If I dont respond to your criticism, sorry I have a little bit of life and care only enough to potshot my posts and never stick around to read the hate so I never get my feelings hurt.
The pride of Wales, Joe Calzaghe, is still very confident that he would beaten down Carl Froch many years ago. The two fighters often exchanged words when Froch was coming up in the ranks and first capture the WBC super middleweight title six years ago. At the time Calzaghe had already moved up to the light heavyweight division and was chasing fights in America, with Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.
Recently Calzaghe and Froch renewed their domestic rivalry, as they traded words on the social networks. Calzaghe has been retired for since 2009 and has no plans to return for Froch, who himself is on the edge of announcing his retirement.

I dont think he actually beat Hopkins. To say he would dominate Andre Ward is laughable. Andre Ward will give anyone a tough fight. I've said this before but a lot of people don't know he hasn't lost a fight since he was 12. Anyone who know amateur boxing knows decisions there are sometimes worse than pro fights so you have to be dominant to always win. Calzaghe isn't coming back and he shouldn't be expected to.
New York- Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KO’s) embarks on possibly the most important fight of his career when he opposes the younger and bigger Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KO’s) on November 21th from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Cotto will officially start camp September 28th; that’s when he and his trainer Freddie Roach will devise a game plan for such a big fight.

WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S.A. – Twenty-one year old light welterweight professional boxer, Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed, has signed a promotional agreement with Las Vegas-based, boxing promoter, Top Rank. Born in Washington, D.C., Reed trains in Clinton, Maryland, at Dream Team Boxing Gym, which is owned and operated by his father, trainer, and manager, Michael “Buck” Pinson.
Mike Reed understands the significance of his signing. Reed stated, “I am delighted to sign with Top Rank. They’ve been successful for a long time, and have promoted the biggest names in boxing, from Muhammad Ali to Manny Pacquiao. I am excited to have the same opportunities as the legends that came before me. Top Rank clearly has an understanding of how to market their fighters and they know how to build pay-per-view superstars. Team Reed is looking forward to having a long, successful relationship with one of the most prestigious promotional companies in boxing."

I am actually one of those 90 victims lol. Fought him years ago in Ocean City, was my first fight. At least I didn't get knocked out.
Don Haskins Center, El Paso, Texas - Mexican star Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KOs) bounced back with a win, by winning a ten round unanimous decision over his much smaller countryman Marcos Reyes (33-3, 24 KOs) at a catch-weight of 171-pounds. The scores were 97-92, 98-91 and 96-93.
It was Chavez's first bout since the April stoppage loss to light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara.
From the start, it was very evident that Chavez Jr. was much bigger and much stronger than Reyes. Chavez Jr. was doing damage to the head and seemed to hurt Reyes with a big left hook to the body in the second round. Chavez was pressing Reyes against the ropes and unloading with punches.

one of the worst point deductions I've ever seen. Whoever said Chavez has average skills is grossly overestimating his skill. I've honestly never seen a fighter whine so much. He leads with his head then cries when there's a headbutt. Wtf is Reyes supposed to do? Use his head movement to avoided Chavez monstrous skull? If there's any silver lining, it's that now we get to see him lose on a bigger stage. Whoever said Chavez hits harder than any GGG opponent you're probably right. Then again he has half the skill and weighs 15 lbs more come fight night. I like Robert Garcia but by now you'd think he know to bring weights to test a scale. I hope GGG fights him as a practice (though I dont think he needs it) supermiddleweight, if he decides to move up. Which I've said before, he could and will do eventually but shouldn't be expected to if he can easily make 160.
Can't stand fake frauds like this dude. Him and his promoter keep using Floyd name for publicity. You and Canelo both on hbo that fight should of been made. Fight Ward or Canelo stop fighting small guys.
I didn't know which of you *******s you respond to so I picked one at random. GGG is the real deal. You guys are such losers calling him a fraud for wanting to fight Floyd. Who doesn't? I never post even though I've been reading this for years but you Floyd nuthuggers can cool it. Robinson was best ever so this TBE **** can stop right now. Floyd is a very talented coward. He picks and chooses to fight the right guys at the right time. Like Chris Rock said, he didn't wait 5 years to fight Pac because he didn't like Bob Arum. GGG has said for years he's open to 154 and 168. Ward isn't losing any time soon so be patient, their fight will come eventually. Floyd doesn't get to pick and choose who he wants at 154 and call himself the greatest. It's not his fault everyone is afraid to fight him. Now fighting often is a bad thing? I'd rather see him fight often than sit out and wait for the big money fights. He's a throwback fighter, accept it. Maybe he'll get love from you when he beats up some women.
not true bumdley wants a trainer that only trains him, they tried to get buddy mcgrit but buddy not gonna give up his stable just to train bumley so team bumley had no choice but to go with teddy.
Anywho Bumley nothing gonna work cause you know what, nothing was wrong with you last trainer you just think it was but like chavez jr the problem lies within you. You gonna get stopped by Rios everyone knows it, your nothing but a punching bag at WW.
Bumdley? That's seriously one of the lamer name changing nickname or whatever you want to call it I've seen here and I've seen some terrible ones. I haven't even posted here in months but I chose your post to come back because it was that dumb.
