I think the varying scores people had on here clearly show what a close fight the MAB/JMM fight was. I wouldn't have complained if either fighter had won it, as it was so close. What I couldn't believe is how clear cut they had. I was fully expecting a split decision but for someone to score it 118-109 is incredible.
I'm not surprised PDL won so big. The sheer number of punches he throws will clearly catch the eye of the judges.
Hopkins winnning so big was a joke as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that a) He's undefeated b) Is Bernard's brother and c) A Golden Boy fighter swung it for him.
What annoys me so much is that this comes after last Saturdays show in Liverpool, in which it transpires 2 judges failed to mark down the 2 points deducted for Derry Matthews and M'baye getting a very lucky draw against Kotelnik.
It is easy to think that sometimes judges have decided the winner even before the fight starts.
I had it
1. 10-10
2. 10-9 MAB
3. 10-9 MAB
4. 10-9 MAB
5. 10-9 JMM
6. 10-9 MAB
7. 10-8 JMM
8. 10-9 MAB
9. 10-9 JMM
10. 10-9 JMM
11. 10-9 JMM
12. 10-9 MAB
114-114. MAB would have won had it not been for Nady's stupidity in Round 7 when he cost MAB a point for a knockdown and for the point deduction by failing to step in quickly enough.
Hope there is a rematch
It's not that inconceivable. Floyd is the favourite going into the May 5th fight. Castillo and Judah are quite capable of beating their opponents. Baldomir is unlikely to beat Mosley but everyone expected Judah to beat him.
Bute has shown to have very good skills & also has power in his punch..Other than those u mentioned Bute has also defeated Sakio Bika & knocked out hard hitting IBF champion Alejandro Berrio for the Title..At the time Alejandro Berrio was comming from knocking out UNDEAFEATED fighters like Yusaf Mack & Robert Stieglitz back to back!!! & to call Andrade a "HAS BEEN" is CRAZY!! Before Andrades 2 defeats against Bute, his ONLY lost before that came against Mikkel Kessler by way of a hard fought UD.. After the Kessler lost Andrade defeated Yusaf Mack by KO(who was still considered a prospect) for the USBA title & then beat the NOW current WBO 168lbs champion Robert Stieglitz by KO! & Andrade is known to be TOUGH AS NAILS & could take on hell of a shot & Bute still managed to knock him out!!
LOL at you saying Andrade lost a hard fought decision against Kessler. It was a brutal beating and lost every round on every judges scorecard. He was a punchbag for 12 rounds. Bute hasn't beaten any of the top 6/7 guys at SMW and is being hyped like Jeff Lacy was.
Compare him to Froch, Froch may have lost to Kessler but wins over Taylor, Dirrell and Pascal are better than anything Bute has done.
Bute's best 3 wins are Berrio, Andrade and Bika and that is hardly a who's who of SMW. He's being hyped because he's undefeated and smashing out second level opponents whilst the top guys are all fighting each other. He might be a top SMW but I'm not ready to annoint him king before he actually fights a top 5 opponent.
And what is Mark Vester saying he's one of the best pound for pound, absolute bollocks. A KO of Jesse Brinkley doesn't get you on pound for pound lists
Have you been to the New Cowboys Stadium....there's a huge ass big screen ya know?
What's the point then. Why would you pay several hundered dollars to watch it on a screen in the stadium instead of at home?
I posted this on Boxrec as to why it probably won't be in a stadium
When Klitschko fought Chagaev in the Schalke stadium with 60,000, the tiered tickets were $50 and the floor more but the way it worked out the total income from ticket sales would have been about 5 mill.
Now compare that to De La Hoya Mayweather where ticket sales were $19 million.
If Dallas Cowboys Stadium held it they would need ticket sales to average at least $200 to compete with Vegas and I doubt anyone would pay that much for the poor view you would get there, despite it being such a big event. To get a huge audience they need some non-boxing fans to be there and at those prices I doubt they'd bring them in.
At the MGM it will be like De La Hoya Mayweather where the majority of tickets are $2000 and the casinos will pay through the roof for it. It's just Schaefer and Arum messing around to get Vegas to stump up the cash
Also if any thinks it would be great having a 100,000 fans in Dallas stadium to see the fight you're wrong. At Klitschko-Chagaev you couldn't see a ****ing thing unless you were on the really expensive floor seats. Stadiums are terrible for boxing. You can't see which punches land, any cuts, it would be a waste of time.
