No Dalton, everyone did not think Matias was some "Terminator" who was going to rip your head off. Those of us who understand boxing knew that Matias was given the gift against Puello so that you wouldn't have to face Puello because Puello would box your head off.
Enjoy your little UK glory lap while you can. You won't be WBC champ for long. That much is certain.
Beating a robotic one-dimensional fraud like Matias is not impressive. Matias had lost twice already, so the fools acting like he was Wilfredo Gomez or Miguel Cotto are just that ~ fools.
So you're saying that there is one big conspiracy that they gifted Matias the win against Puello so Dalton wouldn't have to fight him!....laughable!
I thought canelo clearly lost the fight. He was flat footed, had ok stamina, and wasn’t aggressive enough. Most of his shots were blocked as well. In fact, he can’t fight on the move which is why golovkin kept turning him around in a circle. It is what it is, though. Great fight. Vegas is the Mecca of corruption.
Yup suspicions confirmed, you're a ****
I didn't say the opponents were any good did I!?
But the stats are what they are regardless of your opinion, he's a top 10th percentile in every department i've mentioned throughout heavyweight history.
Despite guys fighting just as weak opposition in their reigns...
Sadly for us, stats just like facts don't care how either of us feel, they just are what they are.
FYI I didn't say Wilder was HoF worthy, I just said his reign was historically significant which as i've pointed out is true.
Do you think in a 100 years when someone looks up "longest reigning" champion they'll care about the level of opposition truthfully!? most people don't even care now.
You got caught rapid, now trying to deflect. Give your head a wobble, and again good for good measure....Historic!!!
I just so happen to agree with Abel. It would take tremendous amount power and stamina for Canelo to fight Benavidez off of him for twelve rounds. Canelo even struggled to keep an older Golovkin off him for twelve rounds. Moreover, clean, counter punching alone is not going to get the job done. At some point, Canelo would be forced to try to hurt Benavidez and I am not convinced that he is capable of doing that. He lacks both the size and power in order to do so.
I'll think you'll find it was Canelo who walked Golovkin down in the 2nd fight, plus in the 1st fight, he held his own.
Teddy's old bitter ass needs to get over himself already. Nobody owes you ****. He asked you to train him. You asked for a probation period. And they moved the **** on. Teddy gotta be one of the most overrated trainers of all time. Besides Michael Moorer what fighters did he guide to a title?....his fireman speech to Timothy Bradley gotta be one of the cringiest moments in sports history.
He always tried to make himself the star of the show. And I never believed him over Tyson. That's why cus kicked his ass out the house and cut all ties with him. This is the same guy who said when he got fired by Donny lalonde, he went to Donny's house with a gun and intended to kill him. But we know he wouldn't cause he's afraid to bust his gun. Like Tyson said, teddy is just a wimpy old dude who wants everyone to believe he's some tough mafia guy. But deep down he's a chump. One of the biggest scumbags in boxing history.
Fireman speech was terrific.
Since when does Cinnabon honor mandatory fights? I guess when he knows thats he's guaranteed a win, just ask the Charlos Also, Fielding's belt was a secondary title, when has Ginger started fighting for Mickey Mouse belts as the biggest star in boxing? Sounds like some of that Hearns juice filleth your goblet.
When you are an all time great, you dictate the fights. Tell me a fighter who didn't have a gimme fight......Canelo aimed for greatest and got beat...you should respect that, but you continue to hate, find balance in the force.
Mayweather and Pacman are out of the sport and hopefully Canelo is the last 'diva' we will see in boxing for a long time. It is impossible to grow the sport if one fighter completely holds the entire boxing budget hostage. So hopefully he will do the Showtime fights with Plant, Charlo, Benevidez and maybe David Morrell. Then he can go do Bivol and take the last of DAZN's budget. Then go to ESPN for Beterbiev. I could be wrong but 2022 and beyond looks promising for boxing because I think PBC and TR finally realize that they have to work together for boxing to thrive. There are about 100 good fights between 122 -140 if they worked together and probably 50 more if GBP goes to Showtime.
He isn't holding up any budget, they pay what he is worth, and if there is other fighters out there with that worth, they'll get the same. Don't be blaming Canelo for fights not being made, it's great having him in boxing today, and it was great having Pac, Mayweather also. We need boxers like them.
