Quillin vs. Lee
You can't script this fight any better. Hometown kid vs. Irish kid on St. Patrick's Day. Freddie Roach vs. Emmanuel Steward. DiBella vs. Golden Boy. East Coast vs. West Coast. This is the most explosive fight of the year. Can't wait.
Quillin vs. Lee
Quillin should have accepted the Lee fight when Andy was still on the Sergio card.
He did. Lee's camp reneged on the deal, that's why Lee pulled out of that fight a week after he did a press conference for the fight. Again, the fans get screwed, especially the ones who were buying tickets to see him fight. Have you heard anything about the fight with Sturm that he was pulling out of the card for? Me neither. Quillin will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. He's a throwback. If he doesn't fight in the ring he'll fight on the street, it's just that the ring pays better. Let's do a little fact check before posting next time. It's Fight Scene, not People Magazine.
Seriously?
No source but my boy works with a bunch of girls that work out with Quillin at the same gym(obviously enamored with these girls). They were telling him how pissed Quillin was, openly b!tching about it in the gym. Quillin thought Winky was retired for 5 years.......which is kinda true.
Tough to turn the big stage down though.
Are you serious? When did Boxing Scene become Star Magazine? 'No source but my boy works with a bunch of girls that work out with Quillin at the same gym (obviously enamored with these girls).' WOW! Now that sounds like a reliable source! Did your boy get an inside scoop on Whitney Houston too? Dude, you're on the wrong website. You should be phoning in tips on TMZ. I can tell you firsthand that's absolute garbage. I happen to own the gym you're talking about. When Pete was here tonight all he could talk about was fighting on the same card as Floyd and what a privilege it is to fight Winky Wright. I've known Chocolate for eight years now and I've never seen him complain about fighting anybody. He's a fighter. He'll fight anybody, anytime and anywhere because that's who he is. As far as you're concerned, save your gossip for your girlfriends. Tattle on Lady Gaga on your own time. Don't start spreading lies about somebody you don't even know that you overheard in the ladies room. This forum is a locker room for real men only.
boxing for a beginner
It depends what you're looking to do and how much you're able to afford. If you're doing it for the workout and you're able to swing it, try my club, the Trinity Boxing Club. We charge more than a lot of clubs, but we deliver more as well. We cater primarily to a white collar crowd. If you're looking to compete, log on to www.usaboxingmetro.com for a list of clubs in the city. USA Boxing does a great job with the amateur program in NY, and they can help you find the gym that's right for you.
I am new to NYC and i am looking to take up boxing i was wondering if anybody could recommend any good boxing gyms for beginners in manhattan.
Thanks

What a crock of ****. Andy Lee pulls out of a fight because he's in talks with someone else he hopes to fight? Are you for real? The press conference was a week ago, why did he even bother going? This is what's killing boxing - fighters acting like business men. Let's face it, he got pulled out of the fight because they don't think he can beat Peter Quillin. What does that say about Andy Lee? When he actually does get around to fighting Quillin, he'll always have in the back of his head his "team" has no faith in him. Boxing is supposed to be about the fans, not the accountants. Too many boxers don't fight to win, they fight not to lose. Boxing has lost its pride.
