When Hopkins was 36 he was at his prime beating Trinidad.
When Jones was 35 he was at his prime, moving up to Heavyweight and beating John Ruiz.
Now Hopkins at 42 having lost 3 of the last 5 fights looses to Calzaghe who is 36
Then Jones at 39 having lost 3 of the last 6 fights looses to Calzaghe who is 36
Thats the reason Calzaghe dosen't get the credit he DOSEN'T deserve.
Calzaghe you have beating two legends, we all agree on that... But it sounded better and seemed more right when Tarver said it against Jones and when Taylor humbly said it against Hopkins, when you say... it just seems I dont know akward.
This is getting boring!
Calzaghe is an ATG and DOESN'T get the credit he deserves! FACT!
I don't know if I'm going to pay when a fighter quits like that.
:purity:
I probably will pay, because I'm a man of my word. But just give me a minute or two to calm down 'cause I'm fucked off.
lol you gotta pay your bets man!
Shit, he wasn't getting schooled at all! I had the fight 5-3 Alexander, he still had time to turn it around.
I will take the rest of your points if you want it.
Alexander over Witter for the rest of your bank after the 5k plus tax from the other guy.
just do it for 15k?
done.
Put it in your sig.
Very strange "quittage." That interview said something about his elbow, but he wasn't totally dominated it seems. Witter seems ready to ride off into the sunset and retire.
He said that this is not his last fight, which is a shame because I don't wanna see one of my favourite fighters getting overun by some bum which I believe will now happen.
Just retire Witter, if you quit in a world title fight you aint got it in you no more.
alexander has a lot of compassion and dedication for the sport..give him his props
True, but I don't see him doing much further down the line, thats all, I may be wrong.
Ruiz was not at all robbed, I couldn't believe Ruiz got a split in the decision!
Valuez controlled the fight with his size and Jab, I was actually quite impressed by some of his skills.
Prescott would get torn a new asshole.
Just because Prescott beat Khan doesn't make him a good fighter...Khan is just a overhyped cashcow.
True (about Khan)
I would like to see this fight though.
defo glen johnson. herman ngoudjo strikes me as the new glen johnson, he will probably be robbed a couple more times!
on a seperate note WTF is mosley doing there he lost all those fights!!!!
Good shout about Ngoudjo!
If Breidis Prescott has the power that is suggested in his record, Amir Khan will be in big big trouble.
But like the rest of you I do not believe this to be true.
Why would Warren put Khan in with a dangerous fighter on his first PPV outing?
This will be a big blow to the boxing fans in the UK!
Sky have pretty much given up on overseas boxing and only really focus on Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan! Setanta have been a breath of fresh air in recent years and seem to care about the sport, they even preview fights that are not being broadcast on their channel, something Sky would never do.
Paquiao ko's Hatton in 8!!!
Jesus, you guys need to wake up! Seriously, I will ask the question again: apart from Tsyzu who has Hatton beat?
It makes me cringe when people mention pacman and Hatton in the same sentance!
Anyone wanna put points on this fight?
I know Frank Warren has the rights to his next fight which means he will be fighting no-one of note, there is a possibility of a re-match with Khan next year some time.
Haven't heard anything, but after that performance I doubt anyone isn't looking forward to seeing his next bout.
I can imagine that he will be quite hard to match now after what he did to Khan. Any prospect will stay away in fear of being decapitated and anyone with a decent record will realise that the risk/reward factor just isn't worth it!
I think Katsidis should've fought him next!
