Yeah, who cares if you followed a fighter for years, once they have one boring fight you should stop liking them immediately. lol I frequent a mma forum and thats exactly how most of the posters are over there. They call them "bandwagons" and there seems to be alot of jumping from one to another recently. Kind of funny, but I can't really associate with those kinds of fans, if "fan" is what they are.
Anyone who can like floyd or oscar after both of them gave us a shitty fight. Really are the term "Nutt-Hugger" Well maybe because I've been a fan most of their careers and I don't stop being a fan because someone else is unsatisfied with a performance. I didn't know I was a "Nutt-Hugger" for being a fan no matter what. Good assessment though buddy.
:cop:
I loved it all, good fight and I loved the 24/7's. Thank you OScar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather!
Agreed, though I think we were robbed on the last episode. I don't think it was 30 minutes
I really thought Oscar was gonna be able to knock out floyd. It was a tough fight to watch because Floyd is my favorite fighter, but oscar is also up there. I didn't want the fight to happen, but i'm glad it ended the way it did if both return back to the ring.
In all the bickering on this fight I can't believe some of the stuff i'm reading as to what happened in the fight and what actually happened. I've always loved watching floyd in the pocket using that shoulder defense and watching the crowd get excited when nothings really landing. They both landed some solid shots through out the fight, but floyd did land some more visibly clean ones, its just that they didn't phase oscar.
To those saying mayweather was a chicken running. Floyd is not a brawler. you would know this if you actually followed the guys career. We have plenty of mexicans and other fighters that stand and go toe to toe all the time willing to take all that punishment to win the fight. Floyd is just not one of them. I can appreciate the way floyd fights, unlike many just looking for two sluggers and a knock out. Like i said, I love when floyd is in the pocket and just watches the oppenent trying to punch all over him with little effect and then counters with a clean shot.
Floyd didn't get to dominate oscar like he has with other opponent, but oscar is no slouch. Almost every fight oscar has fought in his career he has brought it. People love the golden boy for a reason, and thats great.
I wish floyd wouldn't be a punk ass all the time and try to mello out his personality. I think he is incredible and love watching his fights, and maybe more fans would be drawn to him if he wasn't so cocky and could explain his talents a little better than how he words them.
Anyhow. good fight and hope both will be in the ring again. (together :biggthump )
He will, he'll retire. He wants no part of boxing, he wants to gloat about his undefeated record. He's a coward in the end, he hits and run and thats what he's best at doing. He's finished. Whats your name? I want to see how a really great fighter is at the top of the rankings. Whens your next fight?
I actually believe Oscar could have fought harder and won if Floyd Sr. was in his corner.
Floyd Sr. will let Oscar know LOUD AND CLEAR what he needs to do, "USE YOUR FUCKING JAB".
In the 12th round freddie was like ok oscar go out there and use your jab blah blah
Floyd Sr. would have been like "OSCAR FUCKING LISTEN YOU NEED A KO TO WIN THE DAMN FIGHT"
My point is that while Freddie knows whats going on he doesn't get the point across the Floyd Sr. "OSCAR USE YOUR FUCKING JAB" Haha as funny as that is, that is the absolute truth. Great stuff man:biggthump
Im kind of torn right now being half mexican. I dont know if I should be happy or mad at Floyd. I dont know if he wore the colors because it was Cinco de Mayo and was just paying tribute, or if he was wearin them to poke fun and try to make fun of Oscar and disrespect the mexican fans.
:dunno:
eitherway I give the guy credit. He is a better fighter than Ive given him credit for and his personality has made me a fan. Oscar let it slip away but it was close. Honestly his body language didn't seem like he was trying to be offensive. He wasn't even smiling and dancing like he often does before the fight. I think he was doing it out of respect, kind of like when Felix trinidad wore the police hat after 9/11 in madison square garden. I may be wrong but, thats what I like to believe
yeah but he couldn't do that all night....
He's never been that kind of fighter. his defense he usually is good at catching the punches with his gloves. And of course he's gonna get hit. its a fight:boxing:
