i think fredie is very very good trainer, but i think he lacks something as a cornerman ...
but all in all he was worth the million bucks he got paid to train oscar..
What do you mean was Freddie Roach worth it? Freddie Roach is a solid trainer, their was nothing Roach can do to prevent Oscar from losing to Mayweather. Their is only so much a trainer can do, just face it Oscar is finished, that's the reason why he lost.
I don't really know what else he could have done. He told him to jab more, Oscar just didn't and couldn't explain why. Maybe conditioning, but I doubt even that was Roach's fault.
well Oscar is the one fighting and not Roach
and he knew what he have to do in the fight and didnt do it though he would KO mayweather but never though his chin nor his defense was that good.
anyway some of the jab floyd ducked but couldnt couter
as for the condition i didnt expeted from him to go good abit after the 6th round
Freddie's influence was obvious. Oscar was trying to rough Floyd up whenever he could catch him, and he went wild with the body shots and tried to swarm him on the ropes. Whenever they were in a clinch, Oscar tried to land whatever he could. I just wish he'd use his damn jab more and come in better condition, then he probably would have won the fight.
I actually believe Oscar could have fought harder and won if Floyd Sr. was in his corner.
Floyd Sr. will let Oscar know LOUD AND CLEAR what he needs to do, "USE YOUR FUCKING JAB".
In the 12th round freddie was like ok oscar go out there and use your jab blah blah
Floyd Sr. would have been like "OSCAR FUCKING LISTEN YOU NEED A KO TO WIN THE DAMN FIGHT"
My point is that while Freddie knows whats going on he doesn't get the point across the Floyd Sr. "OSCAR USE YOUR FUCKING JAB" Haha as funny as that is, that is the absolute truth. Great stuff man:biggthump
Oscar's problem was poor conditioning, a problem he's long had that no doubt is worse since he hasnt been too active (compared to most fighters) and is older. All Oscar could do was stalk and flurry, then in the later rounds when tired, stalk and freeze up. Roach, who had a good gameplan, probably couldnt help much with that. Blame Oscar's conditioning coach, Rob Garcia.
The only difference I know is that Mayweather Sr. would have been screaming at Oscar to jab. Would Oscar have listened anyway though? He said himself he knew he should have jabbed.
yep all Freddie did was say "jab oscar..............how's the eye?"
Floyd Sr would've been like "damnit son JAB....JAB JAB JAB" sticking it into his face every round

So...was Freddie Roach Worth It?, or do you think DHL would have fought the same fight without him?
