I gave cotto 2 or 3, Mayweather dictated that whole fight, defended so beautifully, picked his shots well, hit him with nice shots, even let cotto fight his own fight and still beat him on the inside......... Mayweather was just too good last night, people that are given cotto more than 4 rounds seriously are deluded, Mayweather was literally toying with cotto.
So after last night the question comes up again, are floyds legs starting to go? From the mosley fight people said that it was just floyd sitting on his punches more and more of a strategy, mostly the same was said for the 4 rounds vs ortiz.
Clearly last nights plan was not to fight cotto off the ropes, and for the second fight in a row, he found himself having to fight himself out of the ropes. I would have expected his footwork and approach to be similar to be similar to the hatton fight, and after going 12 with cotto and his body shots, yes one can say floyd still has a lot in him, but is it safe to say that he is starting to slow down on his feet more?
What do you guys think?
V good question.......... Was an epic fight, I got the feeling that he wanted to fight cottos fight and still fight him when everyone was saying "Stay off the ropes etc." , think he wanted to put on a better performance than pacman. There was times at the fight when he was staying on the outside and boxing him and using his footwork effectively, so i dont think his legs have gone, in terms of his physical gifts (footwork) I still think he has more than enough to move back and fight on the back foot, but he said it himself, he has become more offensive to give the fans a better show.
I reckon if he stayed on the outside and boxed him, counter punching, slick defence etc. he might have been able to stop him late... but yeah Floyd put on a masterful show last night, and when cotto was throwing his hard flurries, everyones going nuts but did they hell land, about 80% them were blocked or mis hits. Floyd proved last night to even the critics and haters, he has more than the upper-hand against pacman, nevertheless pacman still has a chance.
Disagree their, clearly think Castillo gave him the toughest fight, but cotto did fight hard and didnt give up until the end, and took some heavy shots and kept coming back and throwing combinations. Mayweather is just too slick, skilled and speedy
This is what it is man, people are always gonna hate on him regardless when he shuts them the **** up.......... even when he rips through pacman, there will be excuses mark my words.
Money mayweather hate him or love him, but is the best in the sport and has been for the last several years, cant wait till he ****s up pacman, and all u haters can lick pacmans left overs.
Dont get me wrong, i still believe pacman has the best chance of beating mayweather (about 30% chance of winning), everyone else Mayweather would comfortable walk through.
And i genuinely think he had hurt his left hand, as he very rarely was springing in from a distance with a huge left hook, and that is one of his best punches......... last night the most meaningful punches were by his right hand.
Yeah i agree with you there, i gave cotto 2 but definately could be argued 3 maybe even 4, but nothing more than that, Mayweather clearly dictated the fight
this is bullshit.... cant believe use are gona say barrera is past his prime so it doesn't mean anything if he loses, in tht case wtf has joe calzaghe done? beat lacy and kessler thats it, he barely beat 43year old and a 39 year old! Theres sooooo many khan haters and im sick of it..... i myself am an asian, and i agree i hate khans attitude, even after his loss he was sayin he was world class, but i also agree tht lost has humbled him and improved so much more as a boxer. I do think that this will b a tough fight for khan, regardless of whether barrera is 34 and a naturally smaller guy. In my opinion khan will win on points or hes gona get ko'd tha the two scenarious i see happening.
