I started training in boxing at age 20. I'm 21 now and I'm a college student. I don't plan on going pro, I just wanna fight for tournaments and get a belt.
You need to go to a strictly boxing only gym and once you get a trainer he will take you to amature bouts once he feels you're ready. Don't think it's gonna be a walk in the park tho, waking up at 6 in the morning to run 5 or 7 miles aint easy. You gotta be a strong minded person to be a boxer.

Do what you know best. Right now I'm assuming you don't know nothing about boxing technique so you need to use your head and rationalize things. No but I wouldn't leave it too much longer. But, you might find out you have some natural ability which will make it easier for you. And test your chin with some good sparing, that will help you find out if you've got the ticker for the fight game.

look at how much shit hatton's been talking and how calm floyd has been, it just shows that who is nervous, the guy who is quiet, training seriously for this fight, or the guy who has been constantly talking shit while trying to convince himself that he will win. Bro, don't worry. Boxing is here to stay. It'll never go away and fans of UFC are the ones that laugh at watching an old lady trip over her her purse or watching people tip cows over. The educated, smart people watch boxing because we know what is really going on in that ring every step of the way. The casual viewer sees 2 guys hugging(in some fights), and wondering why don't they throw more punches or what takes them so long to knock each other out. We know what's going on and you should appreciate that.
