"Larry Merchant reminds me of the disabled guy in Office Space, I bet they stopped paying Merchant about 15 years ago but he still somehow shows up to work on fight nights"
That was the funniest shit ive read in a long time.
Simply Awesome
Im a hypocrite though because one of my favorite fighters was macho camacho. Could it get worse than him?
Thats probably because of my father though. Since we're countrymen.
I wouldnt count him out though.
Ex.. Terry Norris
Lennox Lewis
They all had terrible chins, but had Tremendous boxing skills. Yes For a super heavy I think Lewis had great skills.
With Tarver Im still in the show me something camp.
Unfortunately i think his most compelling fight is against the now heavyweight James Tony.
SideNote What the hell happened to the Cruiserweight division when guys like Evander Holyfield patrolled the scene.
I think its due to money. Guys figure move just a little bit more up, then they can fight for big money at heavyweight. I think they should raise the weight limit for crusierweight. Give these 6'6' Behemoths the heavyweight division alone.
HAHA you know I still remember that code as well!
I hated Tyson's one punch knockout uppercut.
Super Macho was also annoying. Great game. Thanks for the link.
What a waste. He never developed either. Only a left hook. I dont get it. He had a GREAT asset. Actually 2 great Assets. Great 1 punch power. AND an IRON chin. Too bad, those 2 things alone would have gotten him too the top of this weak heavyweight division.
Pisses me off that I actually made him one of my favs.
You know I just asked about Tua today as well. I remembered he spanked Ruiz. What I forgot is that sadly Ruiz is a Champion. I think he is in the mix, not because he is great. But because of the embarrassment that is the HW division.
Chin + Power = Enough for a belt in this area.
I am probably biased, however I think the guy had ALL WORLD talent. Definately Hall of Fame talent. He had a great run their 10 straight defenses @ 154. I think he could have outboxed tito all day long. He had enough power to knock hmi out as well.
This guy had better than preety good power. I really enjoyed watching him fight. Remember when he was on top of his game, he was thought to be unbeatable.
P.S. Can you link up that radio conversation about Terry Norris?
I dont think it was Norris vs Santana
"Even if Coggi's injuries were as grave as the fighter asserted, the public was forced to witness another new champ "celebrating" his title victory from a stretcher. And it was not the first time that accusations of fraud and cheating had been raised in this or a similar context. In the 1994 battle between heavily-favored Terry Norris and journeyman Luis Santana, Santana went down from Norris rabbit punches (illegal blows) and could not (or, as some skeptics hinted, would not) regain his feet and finish the bout. Given Norris' foul, the referee opted to award Norris' title to Santana, even though some felt that Santana may have overplayed the effects of the illegal punches as a tactical ruse. (Santana did little to reassure his critics in a 1995 rematch, when he responded to Norris' flagrantly after-the-bell cross by crumbling to the canvas and, again, failing to rise.)"
In the rematch Norris dominated him. Are you sure? I think i would remember if it was Norris.
True, i would have too agree. But Judah seems like the type to take it too far. Like start a fight outside the ring with an autograph seeker. Maybe its presumptuos of me since I dont know him. Or maybe its his association with Tyson. Just rubs me the wrong way. However I did like his apologies after his last fight. He is definately the type of fighter I usually love however.
I dont think Oscar would have beat him. I think Norris would have taken him too school. All De La hoya had was a left hook. Norris was such a skilled boxer it was ridiculous. Weak Chin yes , that always was a problem.
Judah is a poor mans Terry Norris. I dont think hes all that good. His boxing skills are not impressive to me. He has great speed and good power. I think a big puncher would take him out.
Hey how about this one. Mayorga vs Judah. That would definately sell alot for ppv.
And where the hells Vernon Forrest? Sugar Shane? Arent they all staying or going back to 154?
Vernon would wipe the floor with Zab. You heard it here first!
You know he may go in against chumps but i respect anyway with the balls to lace em up. there are no give mes in this sport. You will get hit. Unless your PBF.
I think Zabs overated. Id like to see a Zab vs De La Hoya fight @ 147. Just bcause it be an interesting passing of the torch type fight.
If Hoya could comfortably make 147 still Id honestly give him the edge over Zab even at this stage in their careers.
Oh and Mayweather would beat him.
