Section 111 Row 8, 1&2 I think these were the best seats for the money, $150. Partying in L.A. after, someone suggested the Mayan, anyone know if there is an afterparty somewhere. No wifey this weekend, so its on.
Sorry guys, I love boxing as much as most people on here. But in a real streetfight, BJ would beat the shit out of Zab. The only shot Zab has, is if he gets lucky and catches BJ with a knockout first punch. If he dont, BJ would clinch and take him down and it would be all over. Once it's on the ground Zab would flounder around like a fish out of water. A good example, is the Kimbo vs Cop(forgot his name) fight. Kimbo is a good striker, but once a MMA fighter grabs a hold of you, it nullifies ones striking. And by the way, the guys on the videos arent nobody's, those are some of the sickest fighters on the planet, expand your horizons. There is nothing wrong with liking MMA fights. I personally prefer watching boxing, but every now and then there are good MMA fights.
Since when has boxing been about Mexican fans only? Very ignorant thinking here.
Its not ignorant thinking, my post was just to clarify why I think most mexicans like myself are pulling for a Margarito-Delahoya match. And why Margarito wants this fight.
No boxing is not all about Mexican fans only. But if you see most people's responses on this forum, you would see that most Mexican fans favor a Margarito-Delahoya fight.
This is just one Mexican's opinion, but I want to see the same Puerto Rican fans here calling for Tony to fight Paul. To be just as enthusiastic for a Paul Williams-Cotto fight when he returns.
To all others be patient, again, he will fight Pual Williams eventually. Look Paul's team antics are working, hes managed to get all the people on this forum to talk about him in discussing an article about Margarito.
Bull**** ass fight..**** Danny Garcia and his gay ass team, putting him in this weak ass fight. Seeing him beat this poor dude, tarnished his image in my opinion, instead of highlighting it.
They are withholding the ppv numbers because the reality is, Mayweather alone is not much of a draw. Unless Mayweather fights someone with a big fanbase his ppv draw is comparable to Pac, Cotto and Canelo. I would not be surprised if this decision to withhold the numbers is at Mayweathers request.
Is it just obvious to me?? Mayweather clearly has some kind of deal going on with MGM were he promised them to stage the fight there. This is why hes not budging. This fight clearly belongs in a stadium or similiar type of location so that more people can attend.. **** the high ticket prices. Typical DelaHoya
Mosley should be punished in some way. Either by changing the results to a disqualification or at least a condemnation by boxing writers. So far, we hear or read very little about this, due to the negative impact it may have on the sport.
I used to be a DeLaHoya hater, but after hearing how Mosley used steroids, it made me realize that DeLaHoya was actually cheated out of some key victories. I know see DLH in a different light. He could have won those two fights, had Mosley not cheated. I give DLH his props, for his great performances against others who knew they had to cheat to beat him, Vargas, Mosley, etc...
Also, on Mosley not knowing, he was injecting steroids, its all bull. No one, and I mean no one, injects something into their body, without knowing full well what it is.
After watching the video of Oscar praising Margarito (Univision video someone posted), it is clear he does not want to fight him, and the video for me at least gets Delahoya off the hook.
I now want to see Margarito fight the winner of Mosley-Mayorga, I would love to see Tony pound on Mayorga until he quits. Mayorga needs a really good beating. His crazy behavior is hella funny though.
Paul Williams should fight Clottey, and the winner takes on Margarito. This would build up the hype, and all the Paul Williams fans on here can shut up. Honestly, his style sucks, hes just a tall, rangy fighter, that pitter-patters his shots. With his style he'd win Olympic Gold!
It does win him points on the judges score cards though. And he is a difficult fight for anyone in the division.
Wow....one of the worst fights ever. Bernard Hopkins is garbage, fouling then crying when Roy retaliated. They both didnt talk shit about each other afterwards, because they knew they just got away with our money. I was robbed!!!!! of an hour of my time that is.
Ok, here's my opinion on this. I've been reading this entire thread, and I have some comments to make. First off, Margarito is calling out Delahoya for two reasons. One is the money, no one here can blame him for that, if you do your either rich and dont need it or your an idiot. Two is that, once Margarito beats Delahoya he will become the man. He'll become the Mexican people's champion, the go to guy. Kinda like Chavez was for us.
Like it or not Delahoya became that guy after he beat Chavez. Whether we liked it or not he became our champion. If Delahoya cared anything about Mexican fans, he would give us this fight.
Let Margarito carry the torch now. Honestly since the recent losses of Morales and Barrera to Pacquaio, we need someone else to root for. I think even Chavez was kind of feeling this too, did you see how happy he was on Youtube. He kissed Margarito on the cheek and said he felt like one of his own son's had won. The margarito win was needed by all Mexican fans.
For all the fans out there, of other races, this why Mexican fans are pushing for this fight. Those pushing for the William's fight, be patient, let Margarito take advantage of this opportunity to make the most of his current situation, we all know he deserves it. Once he fights Delahoya or some other big name like Mosley, if Paul continues to win also, I know Margarito will fight him again. And if he doesn't, then people can say he's ducking Paul Williams.
By the way I was at the Margarito-Cotto fight and it was sick!
Look the bottom line is that a fight with Delahoya would take Margarito to the next level.
Below is a quote from Roach taken from Maxboxing about why Manny take the fight with Delahoya.
"You're facing one of the idols of boxing, one of the older idols. And the biggest thing for me is that I would never take this fight for the money. I would take it for the win. Because of what it would do for Manny's career (beating Oscar). It'll make him a superstar."
