I understand that Hopkins style of defensive counter puncher is not always the most exciting to watch but I do not think i have ever seen a Calzaghe fight that has not been exciting......Basically the way Calzaghe fights it is bound to make this fight an exciting fight....althought bernard might win he wont be able to slowly and painfully excute him like he did Trinidad for example.....the promoters & HBO are missing out big time...all this fight needs is more marketing in my opinion...Oh and how much are they getting paid does anyone know?
If you didn't know Hopkins wasn't MOOSLEMEMEMEM you need to go sit in the corner.
Why else do you think he said he would never lose to a white boy?.. coz them nation of islam dudes don't like whitey.
Plus his corner man always has that muslim little hat thing on..
What you said was a contradiction of terms..."Hopkins is a muslim b/c them nation of islam dudes dont like white"
People who are part of the Nation of Islam are not Muslims (there are millions of white muslims in the world e.g. Sultan Ibragimov & Ruslan Chagaev from Russia) they are Nation of Islam...also Tyson is in Nation of Islam he is not a Muslim.....anywayz i do not want to get into a whole big conversation over islam or anything like that.....but i was jus wondering if he was a i guess you can say 'sunni' muslim or part of Nation of Islam.....since he converted in prision it kinda makes me think he is from nation of Islam plus he says a lot of things that are kind of off beat and not in accordance w/ basic islamic values...but once do not want to get into a big conversation about islam just wanted to know.....
Well......I guess a good option would be for Calzaghe to fight Roy jones and for Pavlik to fight Abraham.........then if Calzaghe and Pavlik both win....I think w/o a doubt if the money is right Calzaghe would mos def fight one more fight........Pavlik has already been complaining that he is having trouble making the weight at 160....and if he is able to get through Abraham (no easy task) then I think he would have completed everything he would want to do at middleweight and the Calzaghe fight would obviously be the one to go for
I can't believe everyone is soo dissapointed w/ Joe's performance.....Bernard headbutted and excessively held all night (last three rounds he was holding and was never go to let go if it wasnt for the referee peeling hopkins off of Calzaghe..) Bernard was obviously one size larger in a weight class that he (Calzaghe) never has fought in...and it was the first time he has ever fought in the U.S.......he started off slow but who could blame him? Also besides the excessive holding and headbutting Bernard Hopkins is one of if not the best defensive fighters in the game......i do not think this was a performance to be ashamed of given the conditions and the tactics employeed by Hopkins
THe last three rounds bernard was holding on and would have never let go if the referee did not peel him off......and the whole fight B-hops was holding excessively and headbutting...Calzaghe started slow but what do u expect being that this was his first ever fight in America and first ever fight at light heavyweight.......but all the props in the world to Hopkins..i mean the man is 43 and it is amazing that we are even talking about this fight....honestly amazing man.....B-hops would be better to accept defeat tho...i do not think he would want a rematch under Joe's terms....in Wales at 168...or even at a well prepared and bigger Joe at 175.....that could be dangerous for a 43-44 old man seriously....but he should fight Roy Jones for a great revenge match...Jones beat him when he was way inexperienced...and now Hopkins could fight him when he is a bit more out of his prime that B-Hops is..
