manny pacquiao should apologize to ricky hatton for what he did to him in their fight.
hatton even admitted that pacquiao embarrassed him in front of everybody.
That's like asking a police officer to apologize to a hostile gunman after he kills him.
He was doing his job.
I agree with everyone saying that Cotto is favored here due to the style matchup. Cotto usually does well against boxer types with low power.
It's the high workrate and aggressive style that gives Cotto trouble.
I think Bradley or Khan would give Pac the most trouble...
but I agree that Pacquiao's true form is at 140.
I predict Pac would...
KO7 Khan
UD 118-111 Kotelnik
UD 117-113 Bradley
TKO 10 Alexander
TKO 10 or UD 118-110 Maidana
TKO 9 Ortiz
and wins a UD 116-112 to a 140lbs Juan Manuel Marquez. lol.
jr middleweight limit is 154..not 150-151..when you cap off a weight class you're creating a new weight class
I agree. However if both fighters can make the catchweight without being drained, then I don't see a problem. Pac/Cotto @ 145 shouldn't have drained Cotto. He came in a 146 against Clottey.
For example, if you have today's Bernard Hopkins fight Andre Ward @ catchweight 170, it doesn't look healthy for Hopkins who hasn't made 170lbs since 2007 against Winky.
Manny and Freddie better be prepared for the Margarito that did this to Miguel Cotto...

Vs Shane Mosley:
Classic case of styles make fights.
Tony appeared visibly drawn coming into the fight.
How can any fighter be prepared mentally after being found with loaded gloves?
That Shane Mosley is not the Shane Mosley we seen last week.
Shane Mosley is physically stronger than Margarito... did you know that Sugar can push 315 on the bench, for reps?
Vs Roberto Garcia:
It was a UD win for Tony.
He had just come off a long layoff, for good reason.
He more than likely wanted to shake off some ring rust and put rounds in.
Don't gauge Margarito on said performances. Expect the Tornado that ripped through Cintron and Cotto, especially at 150lbs. And lets not forget, Manny's still a little guy. Tony's bigger than Oscar, Manny's smaller than Cotto; the size disparity is gonna be unlike anything we've seen recently.
I find it a bit ironic that his last opponents name is the same as his new trainer... Anyway, hope both come in 100% prepared and ready to scrap!!!
I'll give credit where its due. At least Margarito knocked down Garcia in round 1. I don't think Garcia has ever been knocked down before. I still believe Margarito is a hard hitter, but not as much as was perceived in the past.
The bold, same here.
That factor in combination with his style (there had to be both) is why I knew he'd stop Cotto, for instance.
I think the usual size advantage Marg held over welterweights, is still in play for this fight. Pacquiao is still a small welterweight, in my opinion. I believe Pac is a light-welterweight in his best form today.
Will we see Pacquiao being highly effective at yet another higher weight class? I refuse to believe that Pac will be competing against today's Super Six 168 competitors, in the near future. lol.
If Clottey who fights a stale style and barely ever throws punches can pop Packy and bust him up with 30 landed punches, Tony's gonna put him through the meatgrinder.
Pac's not the defensive dynamo you make him out to be.
In fact, he stands there with his earmuff's on and invites you to hit him for long sequences during rounds.
and there is a solid reason for why he does that. to make you open up, then out of nowhere getting yourself caught by a right hook counter.
And he basically won every round, it was pretty much a shutout. It was what it was, a comeback fight at 154lbs after a long layoff. It's not like he was expected to go in there and have an all out shootout war like in the Cotto fight. Not after the loss he suffered against Shane. Manny better be prepared for the Margarito that brutally chopped down Miguel Cotto.
Manny will be more than ready to take down the Margarito that chopped down Cotto.
However, Manny will definitely be TOO ready for this legal version of Margarito (plaster-free, dented chin).
Screw Margarito.
I actually became a fan of his after he beat Cotto. I even attended Mosley vs. Margarito, and clapped/cheered for Margarito after he got KO'd by Mosley. Then I came home and logged onto the internet finding out about the attempted plaster usage. The people who attended the Mosley/Marg fight weren't even aware about it due there not being any announcement about the plaster.
Funny how both times I have attended a boxing match, it resulted in Margarito losing. (Williams and Mosley).
What happens if I don't attend Pacquiao vs. Margarito? lol.
obviously he is trying to cash out so why would he do like Mosley and chase a Mayweather fight instead of waiting for another Pacquiao fight? does it have to be a Toprank opponent only or Arum won't let him do it
Why waste time calling out someone who won't fight.
It's like telling a fish to get out of the water. It won't happen.
Floyd is unpredictable.
hopkins fought pavlik at 170...just to correct you
Holy I knew I was missing something huge when I posted that.
Well, pavlik/hopkins @ 170 was about 2 years ago. I wonder if Hopkins can still make 170lbs. Anyways this thread is about pac/mosley.
I agree with everyone saying Pac could be the first to stop Mosley.
Walking through Cotto's punches for 11 rds turned him into an asian man.
Walking through the higher punch output of Pac's punches will make him look like the first asian man to ever exist.
150-151???wtf kinda weight class is that??? you gotta be trolling
Well I'm just trying to be realistic based on what's been happening in this "sport".
Pac and Marg are fighting at what, 150 or 151 catchweight?
Both Pac and Mosley are fighting at 154 now, in a way.
But, as always, Mosley looks bad at 154. If they fought at 147 that would be nice, but I can see a catchweight happening at 150-151 ish. I actually think that's the best weight for Mosley because I feel Mosley will have a hard time making 147 now.
Please do not get injured, I do not want to see Pacquiao lose to Margarcheato.
Definitely do not want Marg to beat Pac. That would be some **** lol.
btw your top 4 favorite active boxers are the same as mine, except the order. Just have jmm/pac flipped and there goes my list lol
Cotto
Marquez
Pacquiao
Hopkins
