Drug testing
Maybe you should send a special request to one of your buddies so that they can translate it in "swardspeak" for you so you can understand it. The rest of us on here are fine with English. Good luck:fing26:
The point is that even with a 14 day cutoff and testing the day after the fight any PED will be show up in the test. Isnt that Floyds whole issue? To make sure that there isnt any PEDS involved?
So then what is the Floyds real issue?
Do the homework. Look up PEDs and how long they stay in your system etc. You will see that this previous offer was suffecient in confirming a fair fight.
It is amazing to me that so many who post here dont comprehend that Manny is Filipino. What I mean is that he is from a complete different culture. His thinking, speaking, and so on is different from other cultures such as American. I have always been impressed with his post fight comments in that he is a straight shooter. Any question asked he tries to give an honest answer. I for one take him for face value.
If Floyd wants the fight, he could have had the fight. Period.
Good god. Another who ducked who thread. What i believe is that if Floyd is unwilling to split the money... 50/50 or 45/55 or whatever, there will never be a fight between them. Heres hoping that they do fight later this year and the ducking threads end for good...cheers.
Hahahahaha hilarious if Roger does come out with that as part of his defence!!
:lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:
Yea, if it does go to court I would LOVE to see this one on Court TV!
i'm no lawyer but i'm curious as to how that law suit will pan out given that Pacquiao refuses to actually prove the accusations wrong. i'm not saying he is or isn't taking anything but he isn't prepared to present the evidence of whether he is or isn't so i don't know quite how it can stand up in court, except for the "innocent til proven guilty" thing on his side. but then he's refusing to give evidence...
interesting
Not sure how you conclude he is refusing to give evidence. Because he asked for a 14 day cutoff of olympic style testing before a fight with FMJ?
If someone slanders you and does damage then it is the one slandering that bears the burden of proof of the accusations.
The real problem for a defamtion lawsuit is proving damage from the slander. Mannys legal team will have a difficult task proving that.
In the history of boxing there ain’t never been a guy who came from 105 pounds to beat no mother f*cker at 125 pounds, 130 pounds, 35, 40, or 47, or 50! In the history of boxing there has never been!
coz that's an all time great right there Roger! :lol1:
Floyd Jr. started his amature career at 106 lbs. when he was 16. Manny was around 98lbs. Seems that they both have put on about the same amount of weight as they matured. Right?
Filipino
If you have never been to the Philippines and experienced the culture then you might make these wrong assumptions and judgements.
In general Filipinos like to drink (Yea Red Horse Beer), Gamble (**** fighting) and what guy here doesnt like women? My god, even our own Presidents have had affairs. Not that it is right.... just why the judgements?
Mix that in with being Catholic and his statements are very understandable.
Really thou... who cares about this type of BS?
I just like watching the guy fight.
So pacquiao drinks, did coke, cheats on his taxes, gets roid rage around Ariza, harbors fugitives in his house, sleeps in bed with 3 men at a time, makes duck faces, AND still gets whooped by 38 year old lightweights?
This publicity is good for boxing. If your a fan of boxing you would see this as a good thing....
People really shouldn't compare countries to other countries they have never been to.
With that being said, I know the Philippines can be a really ****ty and corrupt place, but it's still a nice place.
I've been to China and the Philippines many many times. (Hong Kong, Suzhou, Ningbo, Zhuhai, Shanghai),(Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Leyte, Samar) China has a lot of corruption. The Philippines takes it to a whole different level!
I was in both places in Jan. I know what I am talking about. So many Filipinos were glued to the radio listening to the impeachment trials of thier Chief Justice. Daily editorials on corruption etc.
That being said, I love the beaches in the Philippines and eventually will spend a lot more time there.
damn pac's got himself in a lot of trouble....hopefully all of this can get sorted out and that it also doesn't affect his mindset going into the bradley fight.
Nothing new here except for the report on the housing a fugitive. Manny is sueing the reporter that made this claim. This isnt a criminal charge, this is one reporter making a claim. I doubt he would be sued for liable if it were true.
Seriously people, this comes with the territory of being in politics in the Philippines. Right now they are trying to lockup thier previous president and they are having impreachment trial on their cheif supreme court justice.
You doubt he'd be sued if it were true? :lol1:
That's all for show; a measure taken to protect an image my friend. That's how it works for people of status. I'm not saying he's guilty or not guilty, but that's no proof of anything. Didn't Mosley sue Conte for defamation?
I understand what your saying. In Manny's case though he is sueing a memeber of the Media. Dont think you sue a reporter for show. You never know for sure though... just my take.
It's just a differenent animal in the Philippines. A reporter was killed yesterday that was assigned to covering the President! Politics is a dangerous business there. As loved as Manny is by the people, it should come as no surprise that he is a target by others with political aspirations. So anything like these reports I take with a grain of salt and a wait and see attitude.
Id have to rank pinoys as the worst ever for a whole host of reasons, first of all they only tuned in when manny became big, they know absolutley no boxing history or even how the game works, thats why they overrate their guy to the point of ad nauseum or until your seeing red, secondly they arent very honest their guy gets his butt kicked on worldwide tv and they dont see it , even when he gets exposed and the world calls BS their on their guy. They make up the most ridiculous non-sense of excuses, rememebr the "foot stomping "excuse that goes straight back to them not knowing even the most basic incatracies of the sport.Truth is everyone has their favorites mexicans are fight fans first they buy ppvs regardless of its a latino or not, and more if its a latino , mexicans have a rich boxing history going back a century , pinoys have 3 guys total? Its not a race thing its a math thing theres more mexicans competeing than anyone else therefore they produce more champions than just about anyone else so youll have them tuning in more.Think wed miss tyson fight? or Holyfield?mancinii, hearns, leaonard ,duran, or any number of countless greats ? hell no we didnt and we dont, Pinoys are just manny , manny , and manny , but ,but manny , oh and uh manny.:peeright:
Boxing is big in the Philippines. You are right in that they have few boxers that are international stars, but that doesnt mean that they arent great fans and love boxing. Your critizing from a narrow american perspective focused on one boxer. I would not be surprised that Filipinos are bigger boxing fans per capita than Americans.
So no guessing, I'm American. But I have been to the Philippines many times and always see advertisements for fights when I'm there.
Bro, do ur three years and get it over it...You dont see Floyd crying and complaining, he's doing is mere 60 days, do your 3 years and get it over
Wouldnt he need to be convicted of a crime first?
Simply put Boxing is a business and this is supply and demand. The fight will sell out quick. My guess is that they could go higher and still sell out.
This should be a good fight in which anything can happen. And thats what makes it interesting and the demand high.
Pac might return to form and knock Bradley out. Pac could get busted wide open and the fight called. Bradley might just take it too him.
When the outcome is known then their is no interest. Pac will be favored but I think it is an Anything is possible fight. Should be very interesting and hopefully as entertaining.....
Lol at him trying to sue for defamation of character when they are only asking for tax documents.
Thats the problem with articles like this. No real details so people who are inclined jump to conclusions.
From GMA Philippine news:
World boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao on Monday dismissed as “plain and simple harassment” the case filed against him by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
At a press conference, Pacquiao said the BIR filed the case against him in “bad faith” to single him out and to besmirch his reputation.
“Itinataya ko po ang aking buhay sa loob ng ring… but in just one instance, the BIR has tarnished my name by filing this case against me,” he said.
Pacquiao added that the BIR’s move was not in line with the Aquino administration’s platform of governance. “Higit bang mas mahalaga sa kanila ang buwis kaysa sa karapatang pantao? Hindi po yata ito matuwid na daan,” he said.
Pacquiao said he cannot be charged with failure to obey summons because he did not personally receive the subpoena for the documents.
“The subpoena was not served to me personally, but to a person whose identity is not known to me,” he said.
Abraham Espejo, one of Pacquiao’s lawyers, later identified the “unknown” person who received his client’s subpoena as a certain Jocelyn Nebria.
Espejo added that the subpoena was also sent to an “unknown” place in General Santos City, despite the fact that Pacquiao lives in Sarangani and holds office at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.
“Why send it to an unknown place and person? What is the purpose? Hindi po ito due process. Railroaded po ito,” he said.
The lawyer said that the BIR’s actions are in violation of the agency’s own Memorandum Circular 88-2010, which requires summons to be issued personally to a taxpayer.
It is crazy corupt in the Philippines. Just the way it is. I wouldnt read much more into this whole thing than Manny is in a political battle.
I find it incredible that even the most ardent Floyd fan thinks this 'we offered manny a large sum of money' is acceptable. Way to negotiate, Floyd! :lol1:
Exactly. Experts predict the fight grossing 150 million on pay per view alone. With Gate and everything all in over 160 million.
Floyd offered Manny 25% to his 75% of the gross.
Then Floyd walked away from the fight because Manny wouldnt accept his one offer. Manny was willing to negotiate to a lower than 50% take.
If Floyd wanted to make the fight happen he could have negotiated.
just watched the Pac Cotto fight again. Pac was dominate! He has a lot of balls too...in the fourth he stayed on the ropes just to see what Cotto can bring.. then he knocked him down....
One thing about Cotto, his wife has some great cleavage! I will be rooting for Cotto!
