That was a deadly right hand.......
I gotta give Wlad credit, facing Peters was ballsy and he just destroyed Byrd. A grudge match with Lamon Brewster next would be perfect......if he fucks up Brewster this time around that would be awsome! To bad Brewster lost his belt would gave Wlad a chance at revenge as well as to unify.
Why is that so outlandish?
I know a guy who fought in several toughman fights, I think in the end his toughman record was 21-2 and yes I have seen his tapes.....He ended up goin pro with some sucsess.
why dont you watch the full winston bent fight on the boxing link that i posted before you decide if tyson ever danced or not .
No shit, the man was fucking dancing, he was no Ali but he was no Mike Tyson in that fight either.....
Sorta like Tyrell Biggs I guess you could say.......
Its sorta unique...I wanna say Chris Byrd but its not really like that.
Also he was keeping his hands up high and parry'in for defense and not so much bobbing and weaving, although thier was some of that too.
Too bad he didn't finish him clean. Oh yeah, he didn't dance in that fight man.
How would you describe it then man? He wasent flat footed at all.........
Add David Tua to that list.....
The man shoulda won at least a fraction of the titles.....even in retrospect you think the guy shoulda grabbed one of the belts......
yes i did :D ring mag did a fantisy tournament with brewster, byrd, tua, clay-bey, michael grant, tua ,rahman and kirk johnson all the guys that came out around the same time ..they had Grant or Byrd winning not sure ...when i find it i will post the results
Well, diehard fans yes, a percentage did know him.......
Weekend fight fans\casual fans.......no fuckin way! How long has he even been in the top 10 for? only a couple years I'd imagine?!
I know of a journymen heavyweight fighter who has slowed down a bit mentally. I asked him about it once and he told me "You know boxing can make ya punchy no doubt - But I dont think many fighters were to bright to begin with."
Why the fuck weight in naked? I understand perhaps if you are iffy on making weight and such but comon, at least where a pair of biker shorts or something! I mean how much could they weigh? a few ounces?
I don't think it's a big issue for Toney, because he's relativly flat footed in the ring and paces and stalks.
If he was big on footwork he'd have more trouble, but as it is I think he'll be okay.
I have had leg troubles b4 and have competed in the ams........believe me it will effect Toney........He cant plant himself as much as he would like to on his feet.......cant drive his punches, fancy footwork hurts......running and hitting bags is painfull becuase your legs arent 100%, this is how is was for me.........trust me....a boxers legs are VERY important .....more then his arms in some ways in terms of power!
I know a fighter named Shane Sutcliffe. He was a prospect of sorts for a while but turned out to be nothing more then a journymen at best......He fought David Tua, Oleg Maskeav, Brian Nielson,Tyrell Biggs and was a sparring partner for Riddick Bowe and Holyfield and Tyson.
John Ruiz just got his ass handed to him in 19 secs. Why would you want to throw a fight by take some vicious punches from a guy who hits as hard as Tua?
Actually I know a guy who fought Tua, he is a journymen who I would always bump into at local shows.........
Anyhow the fight was on HBO and they had an over\under at round 2. Tua knocked down my buddie and he got up at the count of like 3 and was fine. I saw the tape...... No stagger, No glassy eyes nothing and the ref called it off.
This guy had betted his entired purse on the fight and he told me he figures Nady musta been in on it cause he was gonna make big money had he made it past round 2...................
I know Julian Letterlough had no amatuer fights and he was 14-0 as a pro last time I saw him. But I think I might have read somewhere that he got killed recently.
Ya he was killed.........either that or he killed someone and is locked up............I forget now.......
