What exactly is an African American style of Boxing?
The last I checked, Bernard Hopkins and Timothy Bradley don't fight like one another, neither do both Paul Williams and Andre Ward.
What if it's just...Pacquiao gets beat by a better fighter?
Your statement is very true. There is NO definite single African American style of boxing.
Hopkins, Mayweather, even Tyson, or Lewis, or Ali, or Foreman, Ward, etc..
They don't fight the same. Maybe the title was made to catch your attention.
TO PR13: (I do hope you reply to this) I respect your observation, and yes cotto seemed slightly smaller than his previous fights. I would also like to present a point.
WHAT PAC FANS AND HATERS FAILED TO NOTICE IN THIS THREAD:
Haters are complaining why there was a catch weight or even the alleged
"rehydration weight limit thing"
You are saying that Cotto SHOULD get the advantage for the fight.
Weight classes are made so that boxers could have a fair fight and test of skills.
To have a showdown of who the better boxer is given that they have the same
muscle mass at the very least given that reach, and height can't be changed.
Cotto is merely taller than Pac. They are almost as tall as each other. Having said that,
the most ideal and unbiased scenario is to have both men fight at Welter Weight -
Cotto's natural weight and Pac's RECENT weight. So why is it that people are complaining
that Cotto should be bigger? The world knows that after weigh in, Cotto will definitely be
heavier than Pac. Everybody knows he was the supposed stronger one.
To sum it up. I think your point is LIKE saying that a fair fight with Pac is to be way heavier than him. Its like saying a fair fight with Pac is to have a 160 Cotto fight a 150 Pac. Oh its just fair that way right?
ITS LIKE SAYING:
a fair fight with Bruce Lee is to have 5 goons versus 1 Bruce Lee (that should be fair).
20 Second head start against Michael Phelps (that might not even be enough)
2 Nba guys against 1 Michael Jordan (That should be fair)
Babe Ruth should be given a shorter bat. (That should even things out)
and finally
Cotto at 160 vs. Pac at 150 on fight night (fair enough right?)
This point just means that Pac is so great you have to have that advantage...
you know.. just to be fair *wink
Paulie deserves the second chance but he is so unlikeable. He talks too much and is not exiting at all. He is a whiner who has punching power 3 weight divisions lower than his current weight.
Roach is right, the weight does not matter. if it was at 145 Floyd would still come in at 147. Floyd is not professional about weight. Hes been in world class boxing and didn't even make weight with his last fight against Marquez. The rest of the pro boxers are sensitive about weight issues and the supposed greatest boxer can't make weight, pays off marquez and doesn't want to talk about it.
