Precision maybe but speed and power?
It was all abit boring to be honest, I wonder what Hops is planning for the run in.
I think the fact that JC wants to beat this guy so badly & has more to fight for would leave him exposed. He will be eager to impress on his US debut BUT Bernard is a seasoned operator and will box cleverly!
weigh ins are nothing to Hopkins, the one he had with Taylor was most intense one I think. Taylor was grilling and gabbing at hopkins. Joe just looks confidence and his normal self. I can't wait for this fight already.
There was a scuffle at the winky wright one, wasnt there? It's brilliant.. the excitement only begins once you see the weigh-in! ... can't wait now..
Thrilling stuff. Can't wait. Promises to be a great fight, I fancy JC to get drawn in and Bernard to deliver a masterclass of punching power, speed & precision!
Hope I'm wrong, Cmon Joe!!!
Completely agree with Manny on this. Ruiz had his golden chance last night and blew it. A third fight with AJ can happen, but he has to work his way up. I'd actually like to see Ruiz v Whyte/Povetkin/Hunter etc.
Hate to say this but it was coming. His defence is all over the place. The moment a real puncher got in there, he was going to get hit hard. Prescott was the man. I'm gutted but it just shows that he was way over-hyped. In the U.K, this was pay-per-view, £15 to see the kid get Ko'd. Disgraceful!
It will be sorted out, they wouldnt just spring it the night before the fight
I hope so. This was Witter's last chance really and it seems like the potential all British fight v Khan is dead in the water now. I hate politics in Boxing. It's worse for us guys in the UK... there is still no TV broadcaster for the Showtime bill in the UK. Everyone has ran outa money.
Like I said in another thread. He may still get the decision reversed to no contest. BUT DON'T BITCH ABOUT FIGHTERS NOT FIGHTING YOU AND NETWORKS NOT GIVING YOU AIR TIME. You had your shot tonight and you decided to bail out early unstead of risking it all. He could've fought on till the 5th round, have the doctor take a look at his eye and then if it got stopped and the ref still didn't think it was a headbutt, I would've been there with him.
But he is the one who wanted the stoppage, not the cutman or the doctor who decides these things.
He was shot. Bradley was too good for him. But he also knew the rules and he has got way. Don King needs to shut up about a rematch because Bradley looked good tonight!
I thought Tony's physical pressure broke Cotto down. I can't see him surviving that pressure again. He will have to do his hit n move and be faster than as he was.
I dont think it was toe-to-toe (Cotto kept running and Marg. tried to chase him down) but it was a great fight. It was well worth staying up for here in the U.K. Great action at 4am.
His legs were gone, he was getting hit with body shots every time he went to a corner. Cotto's mistake was that he didn't go to the body; Margarito doesn't get rocked even when he's hit flush.
I agree. He kept coming again and again. Marg. is big, very big for a Welterweight
