I agree with Andy's trainer. He basically said that Andy is a fat bastard who didn't put in anywhere near enough of an effort in camp. Also saying he acted like the typical American, stuffing his fat face with all kinds of greasy, sugary crap, with no willpower or care for his conditioning or health. According to coach Robles, these are the things that ultimately lost Andy the fight. Ill discipline. We will ignore the part where coach Robles tried to label morbid obesity as a "training injury." Overall he was spot on with his post-fight analysis.
Andy Ruiz cannot just demand or call for a third fight, on that showing. He simply doesn't deserve it. At this point he would be cashing out after disgracing himself, his coach, the country of Mexico, fat Yanks, fat Latino Yanks, Los Pollos Hermanos, etc. He has it all to prove now. Either the first AJ fight was his peak resulted in his 15 minutes of fame, or he can apply himself properly. He needs to come through a couple of tough fights now before deserving such a big chance again. Fight someone like Jarrell Miller or Adam Kownacki, one of these other fat American-based fighters.
I don't get this. He was too fat & doesn't deserve a rematch til he proves himself, yet AJ couldn't do anything to him & made Lara v Nelo look like a brawler walking nelo down by comparison of his performance & the way that disgraceful"fight "went. And despite Ruiz koing AJ & destroying him in 1st fight, somehow AJ deserved a rematch but Ruiz somehow needs to prove himself despite going full 12 & AJ running from him for survival while never hurting him or doing anything of note??
For a boxing fan, it's unusual how much you need explaining to you.
AJ 'deserved' a rematch because he was the champion taking a voluntary.
Ruiz doesn't deserve one because it was a contracted to fight once more and he didn't bother to turn up in the right condition.
In fact he doesn't deserve much right now. He's going to have to prove he can get motivated again and earn his next decent fight.
I wouldn't be shocked if he bowed out and wouldn't blame him at all. He got $17 million in 6 months. Why get hit in the head for the kind of money he's going to be offered now?

The difference is that there was a rematch clause after the first fight, therefore Ruiz was contractually obligated to give Joshua the rematch. There's no clause for a 3rd fight. The rematch was sold based off of the way that the first fight ended. People wanted to see if it was just a fluke,or if Ruiz was actually better than Joshua. It turns out that he's not,and that he just managed to land a great punch that josh never recovered from. It would be hard as hell to sell a 3rd fight when Ruiz just lost 10-2 or 11-1, especially when the whole selling point is "please pay me millions of dollars again. I know I didn't train for the rematch and showed up morbidly obese, but I promise that I'll actually train this time of you guys fill up my bank account again."
Yeah not a bad fight, but I think Kownacki has already been pencilled down for Wilder after the Fury fight. Wilder already booked himself out prior to the Joshua/Ruiz first fight.
Nothing changes unless he really wants to unify all the belts, but looking at Wilder resume and history I don’t think he cares about fighting for the undisputed. Especially if he had to fight someone who isn’t under the PBC banner.
Kownacki Ruiz would be a great fight I think. Who the hell wants to see Kownacki get his head taken off by Wilder? Tough kid and seems like a good guy with a crowd pleasing style but he has no defense or head movement and will just come forward into devastation.
... Ruiz doesn't have to earn shit... because he doesn't give a shit anyway...
... and after these two showings vs AJ, I'm sure that nobody would like to fight him...
... the guy is so good in his own terms... :)
ruiz vs kownacki and the winner fights wilder :boxing:

Completely agree with Manny on this. Ruiz had his golden chance last night and blew it. A third fight with AJ can happen, but he has to work his way up. I'd actually like to see Ruiz v Whyte/Povetkin/Hunter etc.

He has a lot of boxers that he could fight, if he is allowed to then Rivas is a good option, Ortiz? Kownacki? Gerald Washington?

I think he needs to earn it too, I don't see why anyone would want to see the third fight next. Andy should try and get some good wins under his belt and convince enough people he will truly put in a better effort in his training camps, and in the ring, and maybe there will be enough demand for a third fight down the line.
Funny thing is all the people who were saying his weight was fine are now saying he was too fat
He was noticeably fatter yesterday than June 1. Carrying that extra made his hands and feet slower.

I noticed that too. They were saying he was playing with Joshua head etc
