John Ruiz is garbage and if there were any great heavyweights left he would even be in the division
Eddog2, are you talking about boxernyc's signature? I don't think he means it.
Is it a business hatred, cause I know that Jr. is being trained by his uncle, or is it a "I don't even want to be in the same room at a family gathering" personal hatred?
You, sir, are a retard.
Ouch.
But I agree with Runw/knives. He is looking sketchy after his last fight, so I think he's just looking to wrap this guy up quick and easily and gain some momentum.
They say u get old over-night. His legacy is cemented. He should fight Sturm,Taylor,Trinidad. In that order. If he doesn't take too much punishment(I like TIto for the revenge). Then fight another big-money fight.
I think I remember him saying in the Eastman fight he was gonna take Taylor (or maybe now Sturm in replacement), Tito and Glen Johnson
The pay per view for morales pacquiao is $44.95. They will likely get a sold out crowd and huge pay per view sales. My question is: why are these fighters getting paid so little? For example, if you compare what they're getting to heavyweights who cannot generate the revenue that they do, it seems like they're getting ripped off just because they're at a lower weight division.
I think you answered your question by saying that :) . I think it's definitely because of their division. Even though boxing fans may want to see this fight as much as they want to see a Hopkins or Jones or Klitschko fight, the general public doesn't even know who Pacquiao or Morales are, and I think that's why they get paid less.
Wanna hear rip off.... $9.50 for a ticket at the movies. $5.00 dollars for small popcorn. $4.50 for the smallest amount of nachos you can imagine. $3.00 dollars for a 20oz coke or water bottle. (water is less than 20oz.)
It costs considerably more money to take my family to watch a movie than it does to order this PPV. Isnt that a trip?
Needless to say i enjoy watching boxing a hell of a lot more.
Like ultimate said, it costs more to go to a movie with his family. You could always wait 3 years until it goes on tv and watch it for free, or wait 3 years and get a ps2 200 bucks cheaper. It's just expensive because it's live and news, right. If you don't care whether you see it first, then it is a rip off. If you want to see the fight and find out what the result is as soon as possible, 45 bucks might be relatively cheap.
It doesn't matter if the "general" public doesn't know they are, they are still bringing in what the Klitschkos or the Hopskins in their divisions can bring TENFOLD. They generate a ton of money, yet only get a fraction of it, and that isn't fair.
Btw, is Pacman finally going to break a million this time or what?
I didn't say it was fair. I just said that's why it is.
Don't forget the tyson quote where he as like "I'm a convicted rapist, a father, a semi-good husband..." I'm not sure what the exact quote is, but im sure if you typed those in with tyson in a search engine, you could get the exact quote.
Loosing and taking lives because your athlete lost at a sport would be real dumb. Not to mention expensive. So, NO.
Isn't that how many a soccer (football) riot have started?
I bet Sturm would have to knock out Hopkins to beat him. I can't really see the judges giving Sturm the fight if it were a close fight, just like in the De La Hoya fight, and that one wasn't even close. I say Hopkins in 12, as usual.
He is a cheater. Simple. He is not boxing. He is wrestling. Wrong sport. He is a bad ambassador for the sport. He recieves bad decisions because of his Don King connections. He is ugly. He says rediculous shit like he is the real heavyweight champion, and he has been champ longer than anyone. He ignores his loss to Roy Jones. And he is ugly.
Speaking of ignoring his loss to Jones...when I watched that Sweet Science video about the Jones-Ruiz fight (I got it off Boxing Torrents, it might be in the downloads section here?), he dressed up like a pimp and called Jones his ho. What a guy.
Yeah, he's been saying he was gonna retire this year for forever now. It's not like Hopkins was gonna wait another five years and fight him with grey hair. Good call.
I'd go shane because Oscar just went through a couple tough fights in a row that might have shattered his spirit more than Shanes loss to Winky. Plus, Shanes got the wins which gives him confidence.
Byrd is a belt holder. I don't consider him the champion, but he is a champion. Someone needs to come and unify.
I totally agree. Those Don King's Heavyweight Championship triple main events with the same old boxers (Byrd, Ruiz, Brewster etc.) fighting aren't too exciting anymore. I think Byrd is ok, but don't you find it annoying when he always sticks out his tongue and makes that face like "you didn't really hurt me" every time he gets hit?
Yeah, I read this book about a year ago. It's pretty good, and I got it for $3.99 (Canadian too!) at a Chapters. Kinda sucks that a book about one of the best heavyweight champions of all time would be so de-valued though.
-Don't think he hits hard enough to hurt Hopkins
-Hopkins is versitile enough to outpoint him
-Has not beaten anyone that would make anyone believe he could beat Hopkins
-Lost to Eastman (though 4+ years ago)
just not proven to the point where he couldn't somehow "expose" Hopkins as fraud like some people are saying
I am not even looking for the 75k points...I have only seen two of Soliman's fights...I just cannot stand to see people build up an opponent, that opponent loses, then people write off that opponent like he was really nothing to begin with...
I guess those are the perks of being an underdog, they have nothing to lose.
I read about that in a book called Facing Ali as well. It's pretty cool, it's about Ali, but from the perspective of fighters that he faced throughout his career.
