Chris Byrd ...... The real paper champion?

> Byrd, as a champion should fight any up and coming fighters. As a champion he should fight the best and the one who deserves it more because subjetc of who deserves more is truly subjective. The fight with WK would probably end Byrd's carrier. The remach and possible third stright lost to nondeserving and shot WK will end his carrier pernamently and show that his other "wins" were just a gift decisions or a good luck. Avoiding the fight with WK (whathever the reasons are) is just a bussines. He have 2.5 M$ for each fight and if he win the next one he will probably fight for unification title which would be worth at least 4 M$. Even he lose in unification then nobody will tell that he is finished because he lost to undesrving and shot Witali Klitchko. So he will be still in the bussines.

Byrd is a belt holder. I don't consider him the champion, but he is a champion. Someone needs to come and unify. I totally agree. Those Don King's Heavyweight Championship triple main events with the same old boxers (Byrd, Ruiz, Brewster etc.) fighting aren't too exciting anymore. I think Byrd is ok, but don't you find it annoying when he always sticks out his tongue and makes that face like "you didn't really hurt me" every time he gets hit?

Throughout Chris Byrd's IBF championship rein, I've respected his tremendous defense and tried to accept him as a champion. He beat an elderly boxer in Evander Holyfield to claim the vacant IBF title. At this point in Holyfields career, he was a shell of his former self. Then he fought a close fight with a questionable outcome against Fres Oquendo. Followed that with a "draw" against Andrew Golota. (IMO - Golota won that fight and should be IBF champion right now). And most recently fought Jamile McCline in another close fight with questionable outcome. (Byrd went down in the second round of this fight giving McCline extra points that IMO - Should have given McCline the win.) Now with his refusal to avenge a loss against Wladimir Klitschko because he doesn't want to fight in Germany (Germany is the most economically viable location for the fight) I have lost all respect for this guy. He had an opportunity to take a step toward acceptability by avenging a loss against a fighter that's recently had some question marks. This was a golden opportunity for both fighters. IMO - Chris Byrd has been the recipient of good fortune, but doesn't have what it takes to be a champion and it's only a matter of time before he falls. Well, your correct, being undersized should not be an excuse, but Byrd hasn't made that an issue, and I don't think that has anything to do with him not wanting to fight Wlad. I don't think he wants to fight Wladimir for a number of reasons. 1)Wladimir destroyed his ass the first time around 2)Wlad demands the fight take place in Germany 3)Byrd feels that Wlad is an unworthy challenger and I agree with him. 4)Byrd is the champion and should be able to dictate the terms of the fight. Golota definitly did not beat bryd. He was lucky to get the draw. Chris embarassed him and almost knocked him down, not to mention backed him up on more than one occasion. If Golota had to back away from Chris Bryd who is pretty much the weakest puncher ever at heavyweight than how could you think he was dominating? Wow. i don't personally enjoy Byrd fights, but after meeting the guy, and seeing just how small of a heavyweight he is, it's quite impressive his streak of wins, and i do give him respect for that.

Not not surprised at all but nice attempt at a cheap shot, i'd expect more from a man of your age! Valuev might make waves but i very much doubt the top ten heavies have to start looking for hiding places just yet. Why degenarate anyway?
