JMM wanted to fight Hamed
Read the "missed opportunity" paragraph in that article near the bottom. JMM even admits Hamed did offer him a fight in 2000, proposed for the night he ended up fighting Augie Sanchez(and after he faught Bungu as i stated before). JMM chose not to fight though claiming he had a hand injury.
Marquez was Hamed's WBO #1 Contender for years, but Naz and his team didn't won't know, when talking about this Marquez says he disliked Hamed for not being a true champion and fighting him and says he not worthy of a Hall Of Fame spot.....
He did eventually offer Marquez a fight though in 2000 which got turned down because JMM wanted more money. The offer came after he beat Bungu.
My sources tell me (Ult.) that Tocker has been training hard, and is weighing in at 135, he will have a tune up against Bredis Prescott, then move to 168 to fight the winner of Jones-Calzaghe (Unless they duck him, again)
According to Boxrec hes got a comeback pencilled in for the 6th of December, but unsurprisingly it appears a name hasn't stepped up to the plate yet to fight him. How can anyone not be tempted by the megabucks payday fighting Tocker would bring?
IMO Tocker had all the ingredients that make an ATG, its just the one person who's scalp would have brought him this status happened to duck him - that person of course being Eric Crumble.
Here is the great Tocker's last fight in full which proved one robbery too far and ended his career :(

Gary Lockett's twin bro?
Lockett's a bum. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathe as Tocker 'The Bismarck Bomber' Pudwill. I just hope that hometown decision robbery hasn't forced Tocker out of the sport which so desperately needs him right now.
Heres a nice video on Tocker in the build up to his last fight
Tockers worst fears came true and Vanda was awarded a hometown decision :(
The general consensus even in his opponents camp was that Tocker was the winner as spoken about here:

Thank God we had real men like Joe Calzaghe fight a scary ATG like Tocker and not duck him like everyone else did.
Thats right, Calzaghes always had a reputation for fighting the best and there's no finer example of it than this act of supreme bravery which really cemented his legacy.
Tocker was robbed of another decision again last night by another biased ref in his comeback fight. It must be a ploy by the boxing world to try to keep Tocker out of the sport knowing that if he comes back he will just cleanup whatever weight division he wishes. Tocker also took the fight last night on just 2 weeks notice being the warrior that he is.
I will tell u this much...Vinny Paz told me after he fought Pudwill that Pudwill was as heavy handed as anyone he ever fought, it surprised him
Here in fact is Vinny Paz talking about his epic war with Tocker and just how tough the 'Bizmarck Bomber' was.
Word is that he was after a big name scalp to make a statement to the boxing world that he was back and targeted Pac Man and De la Hoya. But like many others they both colluded to duck him by fighting each other despite the megabucks payday they'd be entitled to by fighting Tocker.
The real reason Mayweather retired was because he heard the rumours that Tocker was back in training and that he was after a big scalp and knew that his days of being undefeated were numbered.
People have trouble accepting a man like Tocker is the greatest in history. But at the end of tha day, If that biased ref hadn't saved Calzaghe then Tocker would have won

Heres the fight itself where Tocker was robbed by that biased ref.
I'm not sure the super 6 tournament is a big enough stage to bring the legendary Tocker out of retirement. The only possible temptation for him would be to avenge his brothers loss against Ward. When he inevitably KO's Ward in R1 surely the only thing left for Tocker is to go down to welterweight and mow down Manny if he hasn't already ducked Tocker by retiring before then.
Whoever was supposed to be fighting in Tockers comeback match in december has joined the long list of people who've ducked him, as the fight has disappeared off Tockers schedule on boxrec. :(
He must have been getting Tocker confused with his younger brother Shelby Pudwill who despite having been blessed with admirable boxing ability as you'd expect coming from such a gifted boxing family, was never alltime p4p material like Tocker. To be fair it would be too much to ask for anyone to live up to having expectations placed on you because of the greatness of a legend like Tocker
But Tocker Pudwill beat the undefeated Wilbur Garst at 135 lbs!
That win should've earned him atleast 5 more title shots at super middleweight.
Well there you have it! Tocker was the only man at the time willing to take such a huge risk by putting his own undefeated record on the line against such a dangerous opponent in Wilbur Garst. Roberto Duran ducked Garst for years until finally facing him 4 years after Tocker had shattered his career and made him over the hill. This proves Tocker is definitely up there with the ATG's of the sport.
The career defining victory against Stacy Goodson is still the one that puts him a cut above the rest. The broadcasting fee demanded for that fight was so high that not even HBO could get near to hosting it and as a result left out what was the main accomplishment in Tockers legacy and kept 1 of the sports great alltime fighters under the radar for so long.
Naz was a great fighter and at his peak he was awesome to watch. He was the one that got me into boxing in the early to mid-90's when he made his TV debut and fought regularly on ITV. I still enjoy watching his greatest fights DVD now, he was such a character. It was a shame how his career came to an end and the way he seemed to fade into obscurity afterwards, i'd have loved to have seen him at ringside for some fights or as a pundit. I agree with what Steve Bunce said about him being one of the greatest british fighters of all time as a whole package.
It's not so much a drinking problem...just that his favourite meal consists of fish and chips with a pint of beer. Hes quite partial to the odd pie or two aswell lol.
