I bet JMM was glad he missed the fight when he saw Augie get smashed and carried out on a stretcher.
Anyne who thinks prime Naz doesn't give JMM or Pac serious problems is a retard and needs to watch some of his fights again. If Naz hit Pac with a clean shot he wouldn't have gotten up for a week, he was a harder puncher and had a better chin.
What a moron you are.
Can you explain how you see it then. Are you saying Hamed wouldn't have given both Pac and JMM serious problems if they had fought? And are you saying Hamed couldn't have knocked Pac out with a clean shot? Oh dear.
To say Hamed would put Marquez on a stretcher like Sanchez is disgusting and should result in a ban.
Can you also show where in my post it says that, because it actually says this:
I bet JMM was glad he missed the fight when he saw Augie get smashed and carried out on a stretcher.
Which is nothing about Hamed putting JMM on a stretcher, it states the fact that Augie was carried out on one.
The punches Hamed threw that night would have KO'd anyone. So stop putting up one line bullsh*t replies when you haven't even read the thread or thought about what you're posting.
Its funny how people are saying JMM was Naz's WBO manditory so he should've fought him........lol. Naz won all 4 belts at featherweight, isnt that supposed to be important thatn fighting WBO manditories? I think people are revising history making out that back then JMM was the fighter he is today. Barrera was a bigger and better fight
Like others have said I remember hearing Steward say he was keeping Hamed away from JMM because the fight was too risky. So basically their was better money fights out there for him. He knew JMM could possibly school him so they stayed away. If they were to fight back then I would pick JMM by decision. Hamed would have had a chance with his power, but Marquez would have found the openings all night long.
Marquez kills him, Barrera didn't even have a good right hand and he beat him. (a right hand is a key element to dismantling a southpaw) Marquez has an amazing right hand.
No question he woops overrated Naz.
So was there ever negotiations to get those two to fight and what happened? Hamed backed out right?
Hamed wanted to fight either of them for his whole career.
But after the first Barerra-Morales fight that Morales won,
everyone believed barerra had beaten him decisively (including myself!)
As did hamed and alot of boxing experts,
so Naz went for Barerra.......
After Barerra beat Naz,
Naz was intitled to a rematch as it was in the contract of the fight but he never took it.......
I dont know what his excuse was.
He fought Manuel Calvo and after the fight explained how he was in negotiations with Morales camp and how the fight was to happen in that year.
Hamed never fought again
I highly doubt Hamed would ko Marquez, look at Marquez resume, Pacquiao couldnt even do it.Look Pac is brilliant but P4P Hamed is one of the hardest single shot punchers to ever get in a ring.
Not only that but most of teh time the people he was hitting didn't even see the punch that KO'd them.
wow this thread has taken a turn toward huge stupidity. In old issues of ring magazine it was stated numerous times Hamed was always claiming stupid shit to get out of a fight with Marquez and Morales, he didnt want anything to do wit hthe top guys, he finally decided to take on Bareera and got ownd so i highly doubt he was calling anyone out after that.
Ur right. He should of faced JMM if he was the mandatory WBO challenger.
But Naz was all about the glamour and showbiz of boxing. He wanted to boast about titles, not necessarily quality opponents.
JMM was too risky, but i think if he was a bigger name or a champion Hamed would have fought him.
I think Hamed could have KO'd JMM.
He could have, but IMO he wouldn't. Heart is what makes him get up from all the knockdowns against high caliber opposition and it isn't something you get over time. He always had it so even if he got knocked down against Hamed, I see him getting up and continue to put clean counters on the little defense and bad balanced Hamed.
JMM wasn't a serious contender during Hamed's pomp, he had his title shot and blew it against Norwood. The Hamed that fought Molina would have beaten JMM easily and probably a featherweight Pac too.
You know it's a shame the WBA pulled the BS with Sanchez'z belt or Hamed would have had the full set.
It was from 97 to 99 before the Norwood fight, he took that cuz he got tired of waiting for Naz. Molina? You're talking about fighters that couldn't compete with the younger cruder versions of Marquez and Pac. These are young Hall of Famers we're talking about only fighters on their level. Pac pretty much shutout Barrera a year after he schooled Hamed. Too much speed for Hamed.
The fact that you say easily makes me question where you're coming from. He should have been undisputed, but he Marquez qould have still gave it to him.
I dont know where this bullshit about aggressively pursuing Hamed= you're going to KO him comes from? People that came after Naz went to sleep on the canvas. Barrera fought against him in the fight as a counter puncher with a SOLID defense.
Just because Naz doesnt have the traditional boxing guard doesnt mean you can rush him and KO him. You think hes backing up one way and then he throws a crazy uppercut from a weird angle you dont see coming...

Its okay being able to hit Hamed. Do you know what happened to the most guys that backed him up?
Kelly getting hammered to the canvas multiple times.
Ingle rushing Hamed got nailed on the way in.
Sanchez brutalized.
Daniel Alicea brutalized.
I dont think Bungu had ever been stopped before or even down, if i remember right.
Tom Johnson shook up from almost everything that Hamed landed solid. How many title defences had Johnson had before that?
Steve Robinson durable guy could not take Hamed's power.
Very tough Durable Manuel Medina caught Hamed on a bad night, but still did not have enough to make it to the 12. Corner stopped the fight because he was getting hammered with power shots.
Wilfredo Vazquez hammered to the floor and wobbling like jelly when he got up.
JMM down against Norwood, down against Barrera, down how many times against Pacquiao, hurt by powder puff puncher Baby Bull. Yes he got up, but we are talking about Hamed hitting him, a guy who scored ALL knockouts from 1994 to 98, and imo THE hardest hitting FW of all time.
So was there ever negotiations to get those two to fight and what happened? Hamed backed out right?
Hamed was chasing Morales AND Barrera before his fight with MAB.
Naz even said himself he thought Morales was the better and harder opponent. I think he actually wanted Morales more but Barrera took it up first because he didnt want to see Morales possibly KO Hamed and then walk away with a big paycheque that he could miss out on...
1. he offered JMM a fight, JMM turned it down
2. PBF was never in Hamed's weight division.
take your Bullshit to another thread.
wow you're an idiot
im one of naseem hamed's biggest fans you ****ing spanner. been following his career since it started from the very beginning.
stop being such a nuthugger. HAMED TURNED DOWN MARQUEZ AND DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT HIM. Im not saying he ducked him...Im saying he was pursuing bigger and better fights. Same with Mayweather.
after the barerra fight!
he was also talkin about tackie aswell
So was there ever negotiations to get those two to fight and what happened? Hamed backed out right?
what is hamed paying you? i'll double it if you go the extra mile............wink wink
and btw "KHAN HAS BEATEN A LEGEND!"
dont even try and compare the barerra that fought naz to one the that fought glassjaw khan!
