I predict Pantera to be about 185 or so by fight time. If you cut your carbs 2-3 days before the weigh-in and sweat out the rest, cutting 20 pounds can be done. I have a few college wrestler friends who said cutting 10 pounds is relatively easy, its the 15-20 range that can get dangerous sometimes. There are guys in the UFC who cut upwards of 20-25 pounds like Georges St. Pierre, Rich Franklin, and Sean Sherk and it doesn't effect them in any way once they get in the ring. You just gotta make sure you totally rehydrate yourself afterwards. I've also noticed guys like Clottey and Gatti cut about the same range and they are much smaller guys then the guys I named before. Pretty amazing. It can't be good for your health but if you're only doing it 3 times a year with a nutritionist who is advising yout he correct things I don't think it's as bad as people say.
yeah i loaaaathhhee dana white. he knocks on bob arum and don king but he and zuffa are the ones pocketing all the fucking money they make from ppvs. they're averaging about 500,000 on ppvs and main eventers aren't even making a million dollars, it's ridiculous. i'm glad randy couture left. mark cuban please change this for mma.
on a side note, mma and boxing are making eachothers sports better. i think combat sports in general are at an all-time high. with de la hoya-mayweather doin 2.4 mill and hatton-may doin 900,000 and most ufc cards doing over 500,000, everyone is getting exposed to fighting, i think it's great. long-live both boxing and mma.
whether hes doin it or not, anderson silva is on another level compared to every other mma fighter in that weight class. he made dan look like an amateur almost in that second round.
 Who gives a rats ass what these bar-room brawlers think they can. It's only popular because of the nasty brutality. There ain't no finesse, skill or history to that 'sport' IMO.
Have a nice day.
i wouldn't badmouth a sport when i clearly can see you are naive about it. i don't think you understand how difficult it is to learn jiu jitsu effectively and train in wrestling, boxing, muay thai, and jits. i started doing jiu jitsu about 3-4 years ago and actually stopped training in mma because i thought training for boxing was easier. both sports are awesome, i'm better in boxing, but to be honest, watching mma is a little more exciting to me at times, especially heavyweights.
yes, it's a sport that's only 15 years old, but in that 15 years you have to admit it has grown immensely from the "bar-room" brawling that is USED to be and which you think it still is. if you have no experience in mma you can't really judge it now can you?
agility and speed lmaoooo...hes obv never seen the man in your sig or mad skillz sig (zab) box i cnt wait till a ufc fights a pro boxer
dude, i don't think you've seen anderson silva fight. he's one of the best athletes i've ever seen in any sport, and the "i cant wait till a ufc fighter fights a pro boxer" is this in an mma match or a boxing match because its very simple, in a real fight the mma fighter wins and in a boxing match, a boxer wins, you can't compare. one thing is for sure though, a boxer prob won't last a minute with a world class mma fighter in his sport, but an mma fighter can probably last a round or two with a world class boxer in a boxing match. i've done both sports for a few years.
