The only variable i have noticed that isn't great when, discussing Mayweather, is his chin. I am simply making this observation by the way he reacts to pressure and when one of his opponents gets in a good shot. It almost looks like he somewhat cowars when he gets hit. Again, this is a relative obvservation. I am comparing his reaction to guys with great chins. When watching his fights, watch the way he reacts compared to fighters like Margarito, Hatton, Cotto, Baldomir...
He is insecure about his chin.
hopkins was never hurt. calzaghe can't hurt anyone and that shot you are talking about barely landed. it landed mostly on hopkins glove and grazed his head if you really pay attention but you thought calzaghe won so i wouldnt expect you to pay too much attention to landed punches.
Calzaghe wasn't hurt either...that fight was a snoozer...it was an inactive chess match. B-hop landed some flush shots in the early rounds of the fight but did absolutely nothing to convince the judges in the middle and later rounds that he was the victor. Of course I pay attention to punches landed, but B-hop did nothing more than run and clinch the last half of the fight. It's obvious after the Pavlik fight that a little credit needs to be given to Joe Calzaghe for figuring out how to dominate b-hop!!
wrong he got knocked down and almost got knocked down 2 more times. b-hop won 5 out of the first 6 rounds and at least a couple more. calzaghe did good in the second half of the fight wheeeeeeee who cares he still lost more rounds. your bad memory just thinks he won cause he did good in the final rounds.
Were we watching the same fight? Well, at least the female judge agreed with you!! :poke:
you answer my all my questions except one.
why didnt joe hit bernard flush ONE TIME I MEAN COME ON COULD
YOU WIN A FIGHT NOT LANDING ONE PUNCH.
Willie pep has been put to shame
At the end of one of the rounds, not sure which one...haven't seen the fight in a while, Clazaghe lands a perfect left hand and possibly hurts Hopkins...Hopkins can't find his corner after that shot!! I think HBO shows that left hand shot by Calzaghe during the countdown for Pavlik Hopkins fight while Freddie Roach is talking.
To this day, i believe that both men underestimated each other...this is why a rematch is a necessity!!
it clearly shows joe cortez spinning hopkins around as the bell rings
$hit this was even said during the countdown to pavlik-hopkins
NICE JOB SMOKEY!!!!
Sorry, man...your boy lost due to lack of huevos...it is obvious to anyone who saw that fight, those who aren't on B-hops nuts, that Joe Cazaghe figured out the enigma of Bhop after round four...B-hop didn't do anything to win that fight after round 4...if you think Calzaghe didn't do enough to win, guess what, your boy did less!!
i too think hopkins won that fight with the knockdown probally being a deciding factor however it was close i would love to see a rematch, the scores for that fight were horrible one judge had joe winning 9 rounds!!!!
I honestly had Joe winning the fight 8 rounds to 4 with a 2 point round for Hopkins in the first. Fact of the matter is, Hopkins didn't fight...he ran the whole time and only threw one punch at a time. You cannot expect to win a fight with a decision if you don't throw any punches!! If you score for headbuts and clinches, oh and don't forget the fake injury, Hopkins wins by a landslide!!
He just didn't do enough to merit a victory!!
lies. flat out lies. revising history again are we? just like calzaghe was a huge underdog against lacy right? why didn't cortez take any points away for all these egregious fouls? maybe cause calzaghe kept rushing in like a moron with his windmill air punches. it was bound to turn the fight into shit.he didn't take any points from calzaghe either for constant low blows and behind the head punches(only clean punches joe landed) how does that warrant a win? at the end of the day hopkins landed all the clean punches and there is nothing you can do or say to refute that. you have to live with the lie and keep defending a windmilling fairy.
Cortez didn't take any points away because he, just like everyone who saw the fight, didn't think they were legitimate fouls...history revisionist, indeed!! If you are defending B-hop in that stinker of a fight, dude, I feel bad for you!!
Let's cut the crap. Not that I'm saying you're talking crap, I'm just using the term...
Do you honestly think Barrett could have won that fight, even with a different ref?
No...not with the style of fight he was fighting. He needed to put more pressure on Haye and not show him so much respect. At the distance he was fighting at, there's no way he beats Haye.
But, that's not what we're talking about...we were discussing how a biased ref influences the outcome of a fight.
He plays a big part in any fight.
Haye did look good against Barrett. Barrett fought a stupid fight...he chose to show him too much respect and fought him from the outside. To win, Barrett had to make this a close quarter fight. Haye needs that extension to have any affect with his punches. Haye has never been effective on the inside...unless of course you have a ref that allows rabbitt punching.
Congrats to Haye...now fight someone with a pulse!!
I can't believe all the fuss here. Barrett got knocked out. Why does the ref even matter now? Even if Barrett legitimately knocked Haye down (which I don't believe he did) then how does that help the fact that he got KTFO?
Get used to bad refereeing in boxing. Nothing's new here.
If the ref is not calling a fair fight, it changes the entire fight. The boxer who not getting the calls from a biased ref takes more risks than he ordinarily would and leaves himself more susceptive to counterpunches if he feels there is no way he can win a decision.
A bad ref changes the entire scope of the fight.
Sergio is actually 5'9, shorter and smaller than ODLH. But manny won't fight anyone that can actually box.
Yeah, you're right...JMM, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley...those guys can't fight.
You guys have such a fierce hatred for the man and you are such hypocrites...why aren't you guys creating the demand for a Floyd Mayweather vs Maravilla fight?
Because it's already assumed that Floyd will avoid that fight as well!!
Wealth TV is chan 470 on At&T U-Verse...they're airing Stevenson versus George on Oct 12th and David Price on October 13th...I more cable providers pick up the network!!
I think everyone is being a little hard on Pavlik...his reponse is better than Vic the D*ck's reponse after the Donaire fight. I think that he was in shock...his camp was way too confident.
