Boxing fans are the biggest cynics. Feels like they always want to bring down anything good with boxing. Matchroom has the biggest mass appeal of all promoters and attract casual fans, so they are not going away anywhere.
Well, he outright got robbed. He has every right to voice his opinion and vent his anger. Anybody in his position would have done the same. If anything Ward should be the one criticised for shying away from a rematch.
I'm not really looking forward to that fight. Spence hasnt shown much.
Like I said, whats happening beyond April?
we might have canelo golovkin if everything goes well as well as ward-kovalev 2. Fights arent made that well in advance anyways.
So far its been great year for boxing.
Wilder-Joshua for the heavyweight championship of the world is a fight that should comfortably do over $100m in fight revenues (how that prices on buys is beyond me).
probably won't happen in 2017 though
Yea that fight would be big if promoted right and not delayed too much like PAC-MAY.
NOT not in boxing! McGregor is the new PPV King...PERIOD! I know it is some boxing fans and reporters in complete denial of UFC success but just because you ignore it doesn't mean it will go away.
So next PPV "FIGHT EVENT" that does 1 Million or more is likely McGregor for Tyron Woodley if he decided to go for his 3rd Title. The biggest Boxing match out their also includes McGregor which would be Mayweather vs McGregor
While WE think Canelo vs GGG is HUGE, casuals haven't caught on to that match up yet so I don't think it would reach 1 Million in buys but it would do well.
In boxing guys have to sell themselves which is why I LIKE what Danny Garcia, Angel Garcia and Thurman are doing to build their match up even though it is not a PPV Event. Boxing needs more of that! But I do NOT see a potential boxing match brewing that can crack 1 Million buys right now
I think PAC- Mayweather 2 surely crosses a million and I feel Canelo vs GGG can also cross a million as it will be huge among latinos.
What a great guy! I was pretty neutral before the fight but now I will definitely be supporting Kovalev in a rematch. He didnt deserve to be robbed like that.
Hardly a ward hater. In fact I was pretty neutral going into the fight, while slightly favouring Ward but after the fight I felt really bad for Kovalev as I genuinely thought he won. You cant just dismiss people as Ward hater just because they think Kovalev won and judges were biased.
I have nothing against Ward. He fought great fight after being knocked down. But no way he wins a unanimous decision based on that performance.
The sad part is Ward is getting flak for a decision in which he had no say. The only people who deserve criticism are inept or corrupt judges.
