we all know it will never happen, mayweather will be out of the boxing game by the time khan is really ready, but I do see a good future for boxing after the p4p is retired with prospects like khan and joel julio and a few others
I didn't catch his debut ,but i'm intriged by his choice to be a professional boxer .UFC is for any style of fighting.Belfort always seemed like a natural boxer to me ,but only thing that worries me about him is the fact he's got to be about 30 or 30 something ,he's kind of late
except for the all excitement before and after the fight ,the fight it self was boring I watched dela hoya play el mantador all night tito tried to make something pop off in the last three rounds, dela hoya wouldn't have it.I think Floyd and Hatton would be way more exciting especially when it gets close to the last rounds. I see floyd taking chances,I don't see floyd making hatton say no mas, but I see the doctor telling hatton no mas ,hatton cuts rather easy and floyd is very accurate, but no matter the outcome I think we'll see a way more classic affair than dlh vs.tito
It's not the fighters that made the game this way,it's all the damn promoters, belts, weight classes and fees the boxers are just following suit, get rid of some of all of the above, along with making championships fights 15 rounds again ,and why not have weigh-ins the day of the fight as well that would really separate the men from the boys
He heard it from his neighbor who knows a guy who knows a guy who heard somewhere from a guy who heard somewhere that knows a guy.
NO I"M not like you ,and espn is not my neighbor
If dela hoya beats mayorga a mayweather fight is a lock, and I don't see floyd taking any big name fights any time soon unless dela hoya loses or looks bad ,real bad
This bout is supposedly ready to be signed if and when Cotto beats Malignaggi-- Castillo/ Cotto is gonna be off the hook, but I don't think it'll be Fight of the Century---
not the century but the year will do me just fine
Just talked to my brother and this is what he said paraphrasing:
Zab: "Don King and I have talked to the Las Vegas boxing commision and the are over turning the decision and DQing PBF. There will be an announcement on Thursday saying this."
I'm not sure why they would tell him they have over turned the decision already and still wait till thursday to actually announce this, but this is what my brother has said and a friend of mine has confirmed this also.
thank you for proving that I'm not hearing things
All I'm saying is ,isn't it the referee's call to dq anyone? if they reverse this, they might as well reverse a million other iffy calls made by the refs in the past,Especially richard steele
So if they change it to DQ, does that mean Mayweather gets a Loss on his record, or a no contest, how they going to interpret changing it to a dq this late.
It means there is no difference between boxing and the WWE
Well its not like a hugely controversial DQ, his corner did jump into the ring with like 3 people during the fight.
IT's controvrsial because they let the fight continue after tenth instead of stopping it and DQing him on the spot
Damn! Where you hear this?
sorry I'm answering this late had to go to work, but I heard jim lampley mention it the night of the fight as hercules was entering the ring ,and also the ring magazine mentioned it a month later
According to the rules of boxing, only the 2 fighters and the ref can be in the ring when a fight is taking place. However, I thought Nevada was the only state that will not automatically DQ a fighter when a person beside the 2 fighters and the ref steps in the ring. In an interview, Bob Arum said that in the rules for the state of Nevada, the ref "may" DQ a fighter, not automatic DQ.
exactly,it's always been that way in the state of Nevada
larry merchant can go to hell with gasoline draws on,I don't know what happen to jim lapley he used to be fair, as for Emanual Steward when they listed the top ten fighters in the world at the end of 2004, in the ring magazine, he said that Erik Morales is'nt consistant enough for him to be in the top ten
