Maidana was throwing alot, but not landing alot. Rounds 1-5 Maidana was pressuring Floyd like no other fighter and doing well. Then he got sloppy. Rounds 6-12 Floyd destroyed him with precision and pressure. Maidana looked like an angry 1st grader throwing wild punches in a tantrum at times. He can't adapt to being pressured, Floyd did and that is what won him the fight. You can beat Floyd on points, but you can't slack at all for 12 rounds. Most fighters can't do this...Maidana included.
FINALLY!!!!! I had almost lost hope of this fight ever happening. I am SO happy to see it come to pass!! I believe Floyd will win by decision if it goes the distance. I hope he doesn't underestimate Mosley being able to knock him out. Should be an awesome fight!!
I think it will be close, but who knows anymore. I was watching the weigh-in and it seems Paulie is hated in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY for some reason...lol. I think Khan will win though.
The way I see it is "**** Margarfaggo's cheatin ass". He doesn't deserve a license for professional boxing again. It's bad enough they let his loaded gloves go on in Cotto's fight (just watch the fight if you haven't). There should not be any question about him being reinstated or not. He consciously chose to cheat, now he can consciously watch from the seats. Everybody wants him back just to fight Pac...why so Pac can dodge him too? Will he fight Mayweather? Maybe if he could load his gloves again he might. They need to leave this clown out of the sport for good.
I agree to a certain degree of risk, but since Khan feels the need to talk alot of shit about American fighters he can come over here and fight them. He's young so he has alot to prove in his own eyes. Some just have to learn the hard way.
May 1, 2010 will be Super Saturday!! It's about time. Both Pac and Floyd knew that if Pac won against Cotto then the only fight people would care about is Pac vs. Mayweather. Pac also has to understand that he beat a worn down Cotto. Since that bullshit fight with Margarito's cheatin ass Cotto hasn't been the same. He has never really healed because everyone knows Margarito had loaded gloves in their fight. Taking nothing away from Pac, Floyd will pick him apart because he will not let Pac do that jump in bullshit.
Whether he followed Sr.'s training or not, Hatton is and always has been a brawler not a boxer. He loves the inside and he does the most damage there. He has always lacked defense and actual boxing skill, but he was trying to counterpunch with Manny and since he has never fought that way he paid the price. If Hatton could learn some defense he would do alot better.
As for Sr. he really isn't to blame. He knows Hatton lacks defense, but even Hatton's assistant trainer said in an interview after the fight that Hatton strayed from what they worked on in training and it cost him the fight.
If Manny plans on beating Floyd he will have to do better than he did against a stationary opponent in Clottey...much better. Clottey never really opened up and still gave Pac a shiner on his right eye with the punches he DID throw. Also, total punches thrown by Pac, over 1200, and he only landed over 200....ummm, yeah. He only won by punching Clottey's arms and never hit him at all really. The thing about Floyd is he is very good against pressure fighters like Pac because they get in wild punch mode and Floyd is so quick he pops them a few times before they realize they have been hit, then he is out again. Look at Hatton...he was a tremendous pressure fighter, and Floyd crushed him. Also, while Pac is throwing his wild flurry of punches backing Floyd up, he will forget Floyd can fight going backwards and get nailed time and time again. Then he will get that frustrated look on his face again when he gets popped in the face and start throwing more wildly and Floyd will just pick him apart like he did Marquez. Just my 2 cents, but it will not be the cakewalk Pac and Roach think it will be.
Cut and dry...Manny is scared. All of a sudden everything affects him and he NEEDS a 24 day cut? Wow, no testing close to the fight....why? I'm smaller and he's bigger....that will be his excuse for losing to Floyd too, yet he said none of this when he fought De La Hoya who is also bigger. Roach and Arum are just as scared so they will continue to make excuses for Manny, but Arum will be the one who gives in. The fans demand the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, so Arum will make it happen regardless since he is backed into a corner now and only sees $$$$$$. Manny has a date with destiny, but he already knows the outcome.
This is the type of retardedness I would expect from Arum. Talk about Pac fighting Mosley before the Floyd vs. Shane fight...lmao. Sounds like Arum is a little worried his boy won't beat Floyd so now he is in the position to have him not fight Floyd and he loves it. Unless Mosley knocks out Floyd the Pac and Mosley fight will not happen.
If I'm Cotto I would be thinking "**** Margarito" too. Cheatin ass pussy. That's why Cotto is in the shape he's in now is because of the plaster Margarito had to use to beat him. And they just let the fight go on. The damage was done and now it shows in his last few fights. That scar tissue will never heal properly if he keeps fighting. Anybody who can justify Margarito's actions is an idiot. Cotto should do any one fight of his choice and then retire.
Too bad Clottey never opened up because he dotted Pac's eye nicely. Would have like to see him punish it more and swell it up bigger. Oh well, you can't win a fight if you don't fight.
On the waiting for Mayweather-Mosely winner....ummm yeah. Arum already stated he doesn't like Floyd or his people, so even if Floyd wins, the fight goes to Mosley who is a "class act" according to Arum. Floyd is faster than Pac and definitely faster than Clottey, so he can get in more punches and shut down Pac's so called barrage. Manny will miss more with Floyd, and Floyd will land more. Can't wait to see it, if Arum will get his head out of his ass. But personally I think he wants the Pac vs. Floyd fight regardless because he knows the income it will bring in.
**** this fight, I won't be watching it. Since all any of these idiots kept pushing this fight opposed to Mayweather, everyone should boycott the fight and not go to it or buy it on PPV. It's obvious they don't give a **** what the paying customer wants to see, so if this goes down as the fight that sold the least amount of tickets then maybe they will listen next time. I'm not going to pay to watch a cheater and a cry baby fight. Pacquiao knows better than to take this fight.
Which fight were they watching?!!!
Anyone who really thought Marquez would win, even with a great performance like this was just fooling themselves. Clearly Marquez DID win, but Manny is too "marketable" to be beaten by anyone other than Mayweather at this point and as a result you get this steaming pile of ****. Had they scored it correctly and awarded Marquez the win he deserved it would take away the marketability of the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight since Mayweather has already beaten Marquez easily. It is really sickening and I hope all the judges are in pieces somewhere. This is a sad day for boxing. Check out how surprised Manny is when they announce him as the winner. Even he is like WTF! I won??!!!
Not to say Mosley won't win, or can't for that matter, but with this comment it sounds like Manny is wishing Mosley would win because he knows he really doesn't want to fight Floyd since him and Roach started talking shit after the Clottey fight about taking the Mayweather vs Mosley winner...lmao.
Yeah that's it FAGcquiao talk shit when you know you aren't fighthing Floyd, and cry about everything so the contract doesn't get signed. You won't crush him ****stick because you won't ever fight him. You're pursuing your political career remember?! Jesus, Roach, Arum and FAGcquiao are just a waste of space.
Berto was impressive. He landed really hard, clean punches just about every punch he threw. He's pretty fast for his size, and powerful as well. Those head shots were killing Trabant and the result was no surprise. Keep and eye on Berto, he will do great things in the future.
Williams was certainly more sluggish than normal...perhaps it's the 164 lbs he's carrying...no wonder he couldn't hit Quintana. Paul lokoed like a Tyranosaurus Rex trying to box, he just couldn't reach out. His defense was absent as well. Quintana on the other hand is a sloppy looping fighter who hit Williams with those punches due to the aforementioned problems Williams has. Quintana is by no means a great fighter...good, but not great and his win last night was based on the fact that Williams had no defense. There was no outclassing, just stupidity on Williams' part for not blocking and weighing so much at fight time. If there is a rematch, I bet he won't make the same mistake again.
Taylor was strong in the 1st fight, but all this "revenge"he is talking about is clouding his concentration and he can't let it do that. I know he hated to lose, but the result will be him looking up at hte canvas if he goes crazy. I like both of them, as they both are excellent fighters, but I think Pavlik will keep his cool and triumph once again. Taylor is too anxious.
The fight was pure shit. If Jones wasn't just standing there while Calzaghe leaned in with his hands down, then Calzaghe was showboating. It's like Calzaghe promotions paid jones to not fight because this was the worst Jones fight I've ever seen. He didn't even try it seemed. When someone is leaning in with their hands down and you don't hit them, then something is wrong. Also, what the **** is wrong with Jones' corner? They not once tried to stop the bleeding from his left eye, so Jones basically fought (err, stood there) half the fight with one eye...how ****ed up is that? It just seemed like Jones wanted to open that can of whoop ass, but was off in never never land thinking about the shit he was gonna buy with the payoff money.
