This is hilarious. Some of you guys overrate the hell out of a fighter just because he is from the US. Glen's a bit of a joke now.
Yes i will be surprised if Glen Johnson Ko's Froch because its not going to happen. Glen was a decent fighter in his prime but thats about it.
Froch could outbox/outpunch him as and when he liked. Glen couldn't even beat Clinton Woods :)
Khan was able to brace the punches of Maidana for the most part because Maidana isnt fast and throws wide looping punches. Boxers with faster hands can hurt Khan cause the punches that you don't see are the ones that can really hurt you especially if you're not known for having a great chin.
That's a very stupid way to avoid the question.
Khan got hit with everything Maidana had for a good 2 minutes in round 10 and right hands and uppercuts in other rounds and he didn't go down once. Khan showed he has a solid chin against a game, game fighter.
Sure Khan was hurt but don't forget the body shot which decked Maidana and had him wincking like a child :)
Some of the guys on here make me laugh. Maidana is a murderous puncher and Khan took his best not just about 15-20 hard shots in the tenth round but throughout pockets in the fight. Maidana is easily the hardest hitter in the division and this will probably turn out to be one of the hardest fights of Khan's career.
Khan is only 24 and his speed is blinding and combinations are terrific. he can only get better.
Maidana loses to Khan and now he's 'slow, over rated and one dimensional' whereas when he beat Ortiz he was 'an awesome puncher with heart and terrific resilience'
Khan will school Zab Judah's ass all over MSG or wherever they fight. When he does, you guys will say 'Zab was years past it, we expected Khan to win'.
Idiots.
Khan will beat Alexander/Bradley handsomely too. Khan's best years will come at 147 i believe.
Any of you pieces of crap still hating on Khan for no reason should get a life:
Yes Khan got rocked but yes he was fighting pound for pound one of the heaviest punchers in boxing today.
Yes Khan was stunned but he held on like a true champ and showed the heart of a LION.
Also Maidana has alot of heart and is a real warrior but what a dirty SOB the elbow and don't forget he tried to KO Khan when Khan tried to touch gloves in the 1st and 11th.
Also don't complain about Cortez you asses he was hardly involved and Maidana was getting away with tons of rabbit punches.
Khans only 24 and will get better. I feel he will be perfect at 147.
Too many damn keyboard warriors on here.
OP you can keep praying lol.
Malignaggi is one of the worst 'contenders' at 140 at the moment. If he couldn't beat(or in the slightest hurt) a slow, one dimensional, past it Ricky Hatton what makes you think he's got the tools to beat Khan?
Paulie will lose a UD or may even be stopped. As Jeff Mayweather sais 'he can't break an egg'. I would suggest Khan just keep his hands down for the whole fight and walk straight into Malignaggi even then he will win.
you're blind buddy. Maidana had all the time in the world to put Khan away but he COULDN'T do it. Just face the facts and don't be a hater.
Cortez was hardly involved in the fight. Maidana is a dirty SOB throws elbows, low blows, rabbit punches all over the shot and Cortez doesn't even take a point away.
Also what a bad loser doesn't even touch gloves. a**hole. He has undeniable heart, courage and power though.
This thread is RIDICULOUS.
The Klitschkos may be the best heavyweights after Lennox Lewis but that is about it. Wladimir has a glass jaw and Vitali although having metal for a chin would be brutally exposed by the lightning fast speed and reflexes of Muhammad Ali.
Have any of you haters actually seen Ali in his prime- against the likes of Folley,Williams,Liston,Patterson as well as his later career when he became THE ONLY MAN TO KNOCK OUT GEORGE FOREMAN. A prime George Foreman who twenty years later came back to knock out Michael Moorer for the Heavyweight Championship.
Someone called Liston a 'plodding' fighter i would have to say Vitali is as much a plodding fighter and neither of the Klitschkos are hard to hit. Even a few light blows from Kevin Johnson had Vitali all bruised up.
Samuel Peter was absolutely AWFUL one of the worst heavyweight champions of all time. Compare the Resumes-
Ali:
Beat Liston(2), Patterson(2), Foreman, Frazier(2), Norton(2), Zora Folley, Chuvalo, Shavers(who would knock Wladimir on his ass), Lyle and so on.
Klitschkos i won't even bother going their resumes the highlight of Vitali's career is a loss to an old Lennox Lewis(regardless of whether he was winning) and Wladimir has been stopped three times and his best win is probably Chris Byrd.
How can you possibly compare these fighters?
