anythin less than a mayweather fight for a pacquiao is bull####. this fight agains mosley is absolute garbage and an insult to boxing fans. cant blame both fighters for trying to make a living though..
some people still talking about the wraps? haha. get over it people. PUNCHES BREAK BONES OK!! broken ribs, shattered orbital bones, ruptured spleens and livers, concussions are boxing injuries! some of the brave unlucky boxers even die in the ring. live with it. i know montiel doesn't have any problem with it.
boxing is entertainment. as long as fans pay to see this kind of crap and networks and promoters get their millions, we will continue to see this BS in years to come. Im praying that big time boxing improves in its matchmaking.. not very optimistic though.
you're right the pac mosley would probably be the most entertaining. but im rebelling against the card because i believe that there are other more relevant fights for pacquiao than against grandpa mosley. a pacquiao-berto would have been nice but arum had to pull this crap. Promoters are truly the boxing fans' worst nightmare. anyway, as a boxing fan im sure that it would be entertaining and competitive in the early rounds but it'l turn into a one sided beat down after the 5th round after grandpa runs out of gas. once again cant blame both fighter for trying to bring home some money for their families'.
oh ok, yes he would be more competitve against Pac than Berto, bro who has he fought that makes u think that he could be that competitive, if thats the case thats like saying Luis Collazo can be as competitve u know, ur talking berto B class, Cotto A class..
i guess so. i guess i was just so impressed by his record but now that you've mentioned it, im looking at the list of his opponents and i cant find any A-listers' cant say beating ortiz would up his rep but that would give him the leverage to negotiate with the big names i think.
nah man... if you consistently fight WW bums and jr WWs and avoid your mando, that is worthy of hate.
i dont know if the guy is intentionally avoiding the elites or his promoter lacks the brains to get him the good fights.. im not defending the dude but to get to super star status i guess you have to start with fighting bums.. but he's like 27 fights already right? but i see him trying his best to find good opposition. i dont think ortiz is a pushover, not an elite, but not a bum. JW? i guess. but a big JW who could easily be a ww. but what do i know these are just opinionis haha. i think the quitana win wasnt bad as well. urango not bad too. mediocre resume but you cant say he fought bums.
ahaha wait wait, why is he a disgrace again, send some logic my way....
and if u think berto can beat Cotto, we have nothing to talk about troll...
im a casual boxing fan dude, do you think berto would be more competitive against pac than cotto was against pacquiao? i was thinking of good fighters to pair with pacquiao other than floyd of course.
in the end no matter who a boxer beats he still gets some hate.. that's boxing for you. Berto should just train hard, do his thing, and tell everybody to fukk themselves. even the greatest of them will have haters and critics, that's what i believe.
do you think cotto's shot after the marga and pac losses? just wondering why majority of boxing fans think that fighters are washed up after a terrible loss.
Berto's speed and power, and the fact that Cotto is slow of foot and easy to hit. Furthermore, Cotto isn't the same fighter since the Margarito fight.
its clear that you're discrediting the pac win against cotto by saying cotto wasn't the same after the marga fight. i hate this argument. that would mean all fighters who got KFO are not the same anymore? pacquiao got kod twice in his career and he looks fine to me. hehe. im not pacnuthugger your but this type of reasoning is just plain illogical. peace
People are so ****ing stupid. They act as if Berto hasn't tried to get any big fights. Who is he to fight? Retired Mayweather? Pacquaio who seems to be content with fighting over the hill brawlers. Mosley who is shot? Who? No one wants to fight him.
the truth is at this point of pacquiao's career he just wants to bring in the big bucks for a nice retirement.. cant blame the dude if floyd doesn't want to man up. pacquiao-berto would have been great for the fans and a nice test for pac, but lame ass arum and his statisticians decided that a mosley fight would be more profitable. i hope berto get's his shot at pac, he'l probably be eaten by pac but it would be a hell of a fight.
Donaire is most often taller than his opponents but not bigger. Montiel rehydrated that night weighing 6-8 pounds heavier than donaire. juanma is the much bigger fighter and he would have probably moved up to 130 before this matup would happen. juanma is a big boy and im not sure if he still makes 126 easy.
dude punchstat means crap
they DR those numbers all the time
it can be a simple jab or a power punch that grazed the face
ok how about this
going by punchstat then JMM won both the second and first fights cause he landed more
according to your logic
you only use that when it works in your favor
name one fight besides the bs first round knock out wher JMM face didnt look swollen
now name me one fight where manny walked to his corner with his head down and body language showing defeat on more than one occassion in one fight
that speaks a lot more than your supposed punch stats
manny was a defeated man that night he knew it roach knew it the whole world knows it now
JMM definitely won more rounds in the previous 2 fights as validated by the pucnhstats but those decisions are justified by the knockdowns in my opinion. still very close. i believe jmm won the second though. i think manny won the first. the 10-6 round was hard to overcome. im no pactard. im really just wondering why some people saw this as a robbery when in fact it could have gone either way. very close.
pac got his ass kicked plain and simple and those compubox numbers are absurd,in leu of the ridiculous decision who'd beleive them???,and even if they are to be believed none of pacs landed shots were at all effective, pac really couldnt even touch marquez,he got his ass kicked plain and simple.the truth is pac captured peoples imagination and the hype machine overtook reality, until sat.marquez won clearly landed the way harder and damaging shots and won the most rounds, all the effective aggression talk is coming from idiots with a sore asswhole.the only thing pac effectivley aggressed was jmms fists with his face lol.....and yes make the fight in mexico with judges from other countries no american judges for sure theyre so obsessed with a mayweather fight and this asian little boy fetish that they simply cannot be trusted to do the right thing.hbo just got clowned too way to go Jmm yove proven to be an alltime great and a better fighter than pacman.
i guess pacquiao's punches were really not effective. i think jmm's swollen a$$ face appeared magically. haha. aside from the busted lip pac's face looks fine. JMm looked more asian after the fight.
the only reason pac struggled with marquez is with the style.. styles make fights. everyone's tired of hearing this. hehe. but the truth is pacquiao is the better athlete, younger, stronger, faster. right now he is also much smarter and better equiped with handling the technical counter punching marquez. i just dont see anyone putting any money on jmm dude specially if this fight is gonna be fought 144-147.
So now your changing your tune to power shots landed huh. Lara v williams. Williams threw much more punches so his volume was huge so did he deserve the win.
didnt see that fight actually.just read the round per round reports. it was wrong for me to site that as an example. but to say that pac just led in volume of shots and lagged in quality of punches thrown is also wrong. clearly jmm face was taking a toll suggesting that pac not only threw more punches, but those punches were also quite effective.
Lmfao ass off at the idiot saying compubox is a computer. New to boxing?
and if compubox determines who the winner, fine Ill give you that. But then you must admit Marquez won the first 2 fights according to compubox.
so either way you look at it, Marquez won this fight. If you want to be a hard headed fan then go point to compubox to claim the victory, but then you got to give the first 2 fights to marquez.
It simple.
pick your poison
marquez definitely won more rounds in the previous fights but those decisions are justified by the knockdowns. can still go to either fighter though. very close to call.
Those punchstats were so inaccurate. it might even have been rigged. It was all a big conspiracy.
download two different copies of the fight and and count the punches yourself. i think punchstats are much more objective than the other vague criteria like ring generalship, defense, effective aggression. how the hell are you gonna objectively measure those?
the truth is as long as the floyd fight isnt signed.. pac will fight the most marketable guy out there. the guy could be a heavy weight champ and pac can take his belt to be the first guy to win the nth number of titles in the nth number of weight classes. or top rank can make up some stories of how cotto is screwing around with pac's wife and make pac-cotto2 possible. it's all about selling the story. NO one other than floyd can come close to pac right now. all other fights are BS. cant blame bob arum, pac, and the other boxers for trying to earn a living though. in the end it's all about the money baby!
great fuken post man
this is why i saw it as a robbery even though deep down inside i know it wasnt
I have never seen Pac look so frustrated and defeated in the fight and in between rounds, he never ever figured out JMM
I am having a hard time thinking that the judges didnt see that and why people on here arent giving Marquez more credit
he had pac mentally defeated since about the 4-5 th round. Props to pac for tryin his all to make it close but i watched it with a house full of JMM fans and about 4 pactards and even they said pac lost
I think this is the clearest win for JMM in the 3 and he still loses
Its like I said on Saturday night
If Floyd was retired I am willing to bet the little that i have that JMM would have won this fight and it would have been something like 116-112 on 3 scorecards but the judges had to assure pac win so that there is a remote chance that the floyd fight happpens.
pacquiao definitely looked uncomfortable and was very tentative. but you cant give a round to the other fighter just because the other looked confused. the fact is pacquiao threw the greater volume and landed the higher percentage of power shots. those judges could justify their decision easily and write an explanation on how they scored each round. it's foolish to rank this fight as one of the biggest robberies in history. 2 of the 3 judges had Jmm leading after the tenth i think. Lara-williams now that's a robbery! once agin, jmm-pac3 was close and could have gone either way. was the result affected by boxing politics and boxing economics? probably.
more marketable than the big established names he fought in the past years? i dont think so. it's all about marketability bro. boxing is show business.any fight other than floyd is a senseless fight for a boxing fan. this is all for the retirement fund. pac marquez3 would be entertaining but we all know jmm would get murdered right??? i aint paying $hit for this ppv. hope a good fight comes up for the fans.
You don't do your homework.. Floyd never went from 105 to 150 he's never even fought at 105.. when Floyd and others talk about Paquiaos rise in weight they are talking about within the last few years as he went from fighting at 129 up to 154.. So in just 3 yrs Pacquiao gained 17 pds of muscle and substantial increase in punching power most of which was gained when Paquiao was already over the age of 30.. impossible? No. Suspect? Yes.
_______________________
the guy was struggling to make weight since morales 2. clearly his body was developing. his body never came up to 154. he's a natural 140 who just started his career at a l05. his height and body frame clearly shows. a natrual 140 who happens to be very competitive at 147.
Good article, yep, its pretty much a non-issue.
It was unsportsmanlike, and a cheap shot, but totally legit.
It is what it is.
But I havent heard too many pactards talking about feather-fisted Gayweather :cool2:
anybody could knock out a defenseless guy.. malignagi could have done this haha
Then it was a fkn robbery, end of story :lol1:
Even if that fight was close, if the end result was even slightly affected by "politics and boxing economics"..... then it was a robbery, plain and simple.
If that same result was made by the sway of judges scoring a real close fight, then no..... but if the result was manipulated or affected by any external factor, then it was a robbery.
Come on.
a robbery in my opinion is a very one sided fight but the judges awards it to the losing fighter anyway. which wasnt the case for this fight as it was very close and one can make the case for both fighters. that was the only point i was trying to make. would the judges have made a different decision if there were no external factors? i would think so. but it doesnt change the fact that the fight was close. the only possible scores for me is 7-5 for JMM, 6-6, or 7-5 pacquiao. anything outside that is a biased fan boy.
ya'll say dropped like that punch he took was cleverly placed lol, ya'll should see that short fight again and see how the hell that happened, concepcion closed his eyes and swung for the fences from the ropes with his head down i think lol, c'mon man...
now yes of course Mtagwa made him look ridiculous there's no denying that, but I mean does everyone look perfect every outing? didn't he move up in weight after that fight? leads me to believe making weight affected him or something? no excuses, but hey he still got the win...
i actually agree with you that concepcion's knock down on juanma was a lucky punch.. but it still goes to show that your boy isnt really that good in taking punches. we've seen juanma get rocked one too many times, that's people's basis why they're saying the kid has a glass jaw. no doubt he has the Power and offensive ability to knock people out but a skilled puncher like donaire would put his chin to the test. dont know who would win between the two though.
Lmfao ass off at the idiot saying compubox is a computer. New to boxing?

so either way you look at it, Marquez won this fight. If you want to be a hard headed fan then go point to compubox to claim the victory, but then you got to give the first 2 fights to marquez.

pick your poison
EDIT: and all the dummies who are pointing to Marquez face to claim some time of point, You dont score blood, or damage. You score clean effective punching. How many times did Marquez make Pacquaio reset with his punches, and How many times did Pacquaio make Marquez reset with his punches. Count that and you will see Marquez landed the clean EFFECTIVE punches.
bruising and swelling an opponents face is NOT EFFECTIVE PUNCHING?? right. haha
I agree. Wasn't a close fight at all. The rounds were close but most in favor of JMM. Being nice to Pac - and I like him a lot! - I scored it 118-111, 9-2-1 for JMM.
far out dude. close fight. marquez boxed brilliantly and he won some rounds dominantly knocking pac's head back. but the rounds pac won were closer. it was a close fight that could have gone either way. to cry robbery is crazy. look at the damage on JMM face after the fight? is that a face of a man who DOMINATED and CLEARLY won?
im a huge fan of pacquiao's exciting offense. but right now i think floyds high IQ boxing would school him. this fight really has to happen. hoping that pacquiao would pull of a win but im very doubtful.
pac is great against fighters who want to slug it out and trade with him because he always gets the better of those exchanges. but intelligent counter punchers always give him trouble. intelligent counter punching negates all his speed and explosiveness. he becomes tentative and frustrated. im a huge pacquiao fan but right now i think floyd's high IQ boxing would school pacquiao. floyd by UD.
Ok let me school you son
Marquez had damage but he had the fresher face
he landed the more clean effective punches
he usually gets cut and didnt (that tells you that he wasnt hit as often)
Pac had a busted lip from a punch they showed it during the fight
the cut was a headbutt
he had a baffled defeated look since round 3 and his own trainer the great Freddy Roach didnt have him winning during the fight and didnt know what to tell him.
Pac got outboxed, outsmarted and roach got out coached plain and simple
just accept it
fresher?? what does that even mean dude? hehe.still very subjective. and landed the more clear effective punches? punchstats tell otherwise. try to find a picture post fight of both fighters and tell me who has a cleaner face. aside from the busted lip manny's face looks fine. JMM's face is swollen up bad and multiple quality punches are needed to produce that kind of face. i know damage is subjective but it is really suggestive of the effectiveness of the punches. swollen faces nd lumps dont appear magically. they come from QUALITY EFFECTIVE PUNCHING.
