Bro when did you start watching boxing in 2004? I say it again. I remember when both Roy Jones and B-Hop had the opportunity to fight Calzage none of them wanted anything to do with him. Calzaghe was THAT NICE. he won his title from Eubanks and Eubanks was mauling dudes at the time. He beat the fight out of Jeff Lacy made him look silly and at that time Jeff Lacy was a monster over here in the US. He beat a Kessler that later Beat froch. He is from the same Era of boxing as Roy, Bernard, and James Toney. Thay all could have fought him and chose not to. You have to respect Calzaghe's Legacy. That man was a beast in the ring.
Calzaghe is super arrogant considering he fought a slew of nobodies and old men while he was active. Froch is also very arrogant, but at least he has fought the best available.

He beat a young undefeated Kessler like two fights before he retired. and If he came back now after a 5 Year layoff he would SCHOOL Froch. I think Joe might have beaten even a prime Toney. It is a bit of a toss up, though. I wouldn't be shocked with either winning a close fight. Shame there isn't a computer program to give us proper simulations of fights like that...

James and Roy could have fought Calzage at any time. they chose not to. a prime Calzage was throwing 75-100 punches a round. they didn't want nothing to do with that man. Calzage won his WBO Title in '97 and every fighter since 97 had a winnig record no pushovers. He only really became famous over here in the US after beating up and basically ending the career of Jeff Lacy in 2004. Joe is by far among the top 10 best boxers I've ever had the pleasure to watch.
It means he wanted to be paid well to travel to America to fight him. Again, nothing at all controversial about that. Jones said he wanted some ridiculous sum of money to travel to fight Dariusz M. Everyone wants to make money to cover the risk.
I have never heard Calzaghe use a fear of flying as a reason why he wouldn't go to America. He may well have not enjoyed flying but he never turned down a fight over it. It was brought up on the "Gloves are Off" tv special on Sky recently. 10.50 on this video....

Two guys who put it out there in front of the whole world. Cotto has nothing to be ashamed of, anyone who calls him a quitter is a fool plain and simple. Cotto fought like a man and never held a single time save for when he was clearly hurt.
This is the kind of fight that just proves how worthless Mayweather is to mainstream boxing. More excitement in each round of this fight than in the entire OLDH/Mayweather fight.

WTF was that video all about after the fight? They even got a nice slow-mo zoom in of his wife and kid crying. I'm a Margarito fan and I'm glad he won but I think they should've shown Cotto the proper respect. I didn't hear anything like the usual "2 great warriors put on a classic." All I heard was how Cotto's career is through and plenty of shots of him leaving to the locker room.
