Like you, i really like both fighters a lot! Floyd has amazing skills, defense, footwork and Manny is just a beast, he's very entertaining and looks like a very cool guy, trying to help his fellow countrymen, giving money for schools, medicines and feeding peoples, also give them the opportunity to drink a healthy water.
But in the same time i'm sure Floyd's a very cool dude too, i mean the guy loves his family, he's worried about his father & his uncle health's issues, he loves his kids, try to help people for example while feeding the poors, he hired some of his friends whom where going no where, just give them a second chance basically, not everybody is doing things like that.
They're definitely the best from this era!!
I would never call "coward" or "quitter" a boxer and truthfully, I don't get it. I mean the guys step into a ring knowing that they're gonna get punched hard and that's those punches are gonna hurt them potentially very very bad, how could someone call these guys cowards or else.
I've sparred a few times with 18oz and get hit with a few good punches and it wasn't the most pleasant moment of my life, so without gear and with 8-10oz gloves, no thanks.
Bottom line for me, Hat's off to all the fighters stepping up inside a ring or cage or whatever (without exceptions).
If Floyd have a little thing known as Ego, and we all know he have. He should fight Mosley!!! because the whole thing is going to ruin his career and his reputation!
If he doesn't want to fight the best boxers Pound for pound, he shouldn't have comeback to the sport.
im a Floyd fan but beating a 38 year old Shane (I was a Shane fan before a Mayweather fan) will not be all that great. As I have said more than once before, I would not give him much credit for doing it. They should have fought a while ago and it would have been much better for BOTH of their careers.
After seeing what Mosley did to Margarito, I'll personnally give credits to Floyd if he beats Shane.
But you're right they should have fight each other long time ago.
Go to the bottom and there is a poll asking which fighter should have his own Reality TV show.
Yep, i saw that too, i was about to start a thread about it.
I think they will, but i doubt it would be a good idea.
24/7 series are awesome because of the training footages and i doubt that a reality TV show will show training regimens.
Everyone getting the fight for free but we have to pay 65 bucks. Brits complain about their PPVs but they not only have less PPVs but they also only pay about 15 pounds(30 us dollars). If you aren't from the states you have no right to complain about what time the fight starts. You get majority of the shit for free.
I don't really know where i've complained about the time the fight is gonna start... It's late or very early,ok, but saying that is not a complain, it's just a fact...
I was just giving an information.
First of all I'd like to say that i like Pacquiao, i like Mayweather but above all i love boxing!!!!
You know what, past is past, there is no need to talk about it. So every fighters could have taken P.E.D, if they weren't be busted, they didn't cheated, simple as that! this is not the problem in here... The history of boxing won't change.
The problem is that, now, in 2010, some peoples are trying to clean the sport of boxing (Mayweather, Mosley & every fighters whom already accept to take the tests to fight against Floyd or other fighters) and that's a very good thing!! That's what the sport needs, that's what every sport need!!
Now let's be honest, every reasons Pac gave are stupids, even the cut off... I am not saying he is on PED but this guy is consider as the best pound for pound of the last decade, it's not nothing, he's an icon of the sport and he doesn't wanna take the tests.
What will people think about it? This guy is world champion in 7 weight categories, it's just insane, some of his last fights were Masterpieces (De la Hoya, Cotto). Before beating Cotto he said that he wanna be in the history of boxing but what's the point on being part of the history if people doubts on him. That's not very gratifying!!!
I think that if he wanna have some more fight(s) he will to prove he's clean. If not he better retires, and that's not what i want because, as i say earlier, i really like him!
I don't really know if this article was posted before, if so i apologise
from http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ki-bloodtests052110
The United States Anti-Doping Agency confirmed Friday that the final blood sample taken from Shane Mosley was April 12 and the final one taken from Floyd Mayweather was April 13 as part of their agreement to undergo random, Olympic-style testing prior to their May 1 welterweight boxing match in Las Vegas.
Mayweather won the fight by a wide unanimous decision. Each man was tested seven times prior to the fight and then again on the night of the fight by USADA, which will retain their samples for future testing. Each of the eight tests included required the fighters to provide urine samples; they were required to give blood four times.
Mayweather gave blood and urine on March 22, April 1, April 13 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on April 3, April 6, April 21 and April 24.
Mosley gave blood and urine on March 23, March 31, April 12 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on March 29, April 7, April 20 and April 26.
The news of the date of the final pre-fight blood draw – 18 days before the fight, in Mayweather’s case – might give hope to fans who want to see a bout between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
I feel that Pacquiao doesn't really want to fight.
He and his team knows that Floyd won't accept the deal, the discussion already fell apart because of the random Olympic style Drug Tests. By doing that they'll try to say that Floyd ducks Manny.
It's look like, they didn't even wanted to tested up until the 24 days before the fight, because they're afraid Mayweather eventually accept the deal.
I'm a Floyd fan & a Pacman fan, but let's face the truth, Manny's ducking Floyd.
It would've been an amazing fight, but it probably won't happen.
And people actually hate on Rios?
Come on dude is always willing to accept any challenge unlike so many of these fighters nowadays
That's very true and Ruslan is also this kind of fighter (as seen on Face off versus Alvarado).
Cotto's attitude shows that he is ready to fight hard!!!!
And more importantly he really want to win!!!! Because of what he said, he have to win the bout!!
That's very good to hear!!
At the beggining i wasn't sure about Pacquio's motivation about this fight. Now, it's completly different!
It's gonna be a real war!!!
That was fight of the year.
Yeah, the fight was awesome, definitely a fight of the year candidate, considering the year's not over, but for me, to this day, this is the fight of the year.
