I think Haye just used their names to promote himself. He knows that if he'd just quietly moved up to heavyweight or called out Valuev and Ruiz instead he wouldn't have recieved half the publicity.
He used the Klitschkos' names as a platform to launch his heavyweight career, and now that he's a star in his own right and can make money without taking any risks he's trying to prolong the gravy train as long as possible.
Haye knows and always has known that his chances against the Klitschkos are slim.
do u think if setanta didnt go bust he wouldve pulled out of the fight anyway?
i supported his move to HW and wanted him to beat both the brothers and he's let me down with all his bull****ting. Im done with Haye, have been for a while. I hope he gets KTFO by Audley as punishment. He'd be a laughing stock even his own fans (whats left of them).
Hamed and Eubank had to be separated a few times i think. Due to the difference in weight they were never gonna fight in the ring. I think (not sure) Hamed was pissed of at the attention Eubank was getting of the public when they were in the same place (an airport maybe?).
both amazing rounds, but ill go with Castillo Corrales rd 10.
The unexpected ending did it for me, after getting put down twice, to see him get up and force a tKO stoppage after such a punishing fight was special. Even if he did spit out his mouth piece to buy time
oh yeah, forgot to say, when Wlad kept the date (which is understandable, he had a football stadium booked ffs as well as all the tv dates sorted out, not to mention he got a fight for the ring belt against chageuv instead) Haye asked for a few weeks "to let his back heal" (ie sort out another tv deal). imo he wanted that fight and wouldve got in the ring with Wlad at that time.
Im convinced if Setanta didnt go bust Haye wouldve been KTFO ages ago by Wlad. I think he bricked it when Vitali got a hold of him.
That deal he did with don king that tied him up for a few fights was a strange move.
Maybe Haye had no balls to begin with? Maybe he's just a businessman and not a fighter? I mean all this PR he created for himself has given him lots of easy money since the general public in Britain is willing to pay huge cash to see him dismantle unworthy challengers.
So maybe he never really wanted to take on the klits to begin with and only abused their names to promote himself? That would explain him making those terrible ducks that make him look awful for anyone else but the british tabloid readers.
Very possible, but i've been thinking about this all last night when i was at work (forgot my ipod, had to do something to pass the time)
I think he wouldve fought Wlad that 1st time if not for Setanta going bust. Its too much of a coincidence to me that he already planned on not fighting the Klitschkos and his tv station going bust at the same time. Its too convenient.
I think he realised after the Valeuv PPV made him millions that he could milk a good pension fund out of being a paper belt holder as an after thought.
Now he's ducking them, no question imo, but i think Vitali scared the **** out of him in that meeting and made him run.
Well from all the post that I have read surrounding the fight it does look like Johnson was going to get robbed again.
yeah but its hard to go by the posts on here. (Heard it was a good fight though so ill happily watch it later and find out.) There are 2 threads here, and depending which 1 u read Zab was dominating, and the other 1 the other guy was robbed. And i heard it was terrible, so ill probably not watch that one
Thanks to the TS. This ep was much better than the last one.
Hoping the weight doesn't become a problem for MArgarito......he's looking very thin in the face atm.
Hopefully this fight is better than the odds suggest.
i think it'll be pretty entertaining.
Manny will batter Marg, but Marg can take a bit of punishment, and wont gve up. So he'll last longer than Hatton, and he'll put up a better fight han Clottey. 1 sided, but im sure Marg will have a good moment or 2. Probably similar to the Cotto fight only without Marg running away after he gets hurt.
He supposedly works with the Plasterito camp what else would you expect him to say.
true, but there are 2 sides to every arguement. Kind find the thread though, it would help if i knew the guys exact username but i cant think what it is
edit - here it is
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412275&highlight=injury&page=2
a guy who posts here (Eaner?? something like that) already dismissed that story as bull****. He said it was a freak sparring accident (he saw the video of it)
Let me see if i can find the thread
That's nuts. But that can't be water weight, can it? What's his walking around weight then? Nuts.
dunno, what did he weigh in at on fight night? I cant remember (did they even do one on fight night?).
But then again, he weighed in a couple of pounds under 147 if i remember right, so he probably wasnt cutting much water weight either - why bother cut more than u need.
Probably just Ariza talking ****. He's been doing a lot of that on the 24/7 for this fight.
good episode, i laughed at the "convential wisdom dictates that one of the keys to fighting a south paw is to force him to move clockwise; away from the power hand.
Antonio Margarito cares little for such intricacies."
Somebody help me out here. Did anyone else hear Ariza say on 24/7 that, for the Clottey bout, Pacquiao was training at 153lbs? And that he was worried because Pacquiao was only 150 for this. Say what? So he eats so much that he gets up to that weight then they cut it down?
yeah i heard that, im guessing he wants manny to be heavier.
ie he was training for clottey at 153lbs, cut a few lbs water weight for the weigh in and bounce straight back up to 153ish for fight night. Whereas on this fight Manny wont be putting any weight on after the weigh in
groves v anderson will be a good fight on the haye harrison undercard next weekend. Although i wont be paying for it, might catch it in a pub depending on where i am.
I think this is an indication of how things are going to play out in this coming fight. Though Marg is definitely the bigger, more powerful fighter, his ignoring basic strategies against southpaws like Manny could spell the difference between a "W" and and "L".
Just because he can bully his sparmates at the gym, it doesn't mean it would work on someone like Manny.
Then again, this may just be a rouse to catch roach and Manny off their guard.
yeah my 1st thought was "thats why your gonna get ****ed up Antonio!"
Yeah am trying to get the fight on DL to judge for myself, You know people's judgment are sway by who they want to win sometimes, But am surprised Green lost to Johnson though.
yeah thats it, everyone likes Johnson, no-one likes Green so im not surprised to read Johnson was winning. Although i havent seen 1 person say Green was winning so he probably wasnt lol. Ill have to wait until this evening to find out for myself.
I bet money (small bet) on Johnson to win on points. Silly bet looking back on it concidering how many close decisions have went against Johnson. At least Lopez won by Ko so i broke even. Cant wait to watch that one
Body blow did the job in round 1. The opponent sure wasn't much.
nah pure garbage, but hes fought most of Maloneys HWs recently, only 2 of them (Towers+Dallas) stopped him, and they didnt do it until rd2. Olubamiwo and Price went the distance with him.
Hes back in 2 weeks again anyway. Hopefully whoever he fights is a bit better.
as long as its AA v Ward in the final im not fussed who fights who in the semis, although in a perfect world american v euro in each semi would be good.
watching Rees Mitchell, recording the rte fights. Watched Mitchell get battered by Garcia though.
Let me know when Rogie comes on, dont want to miss that!
Ahhh... I thought they were really serious especially if you look at pacmans eyes. I thought he would punch ariza right there! hahaha
i thought he was kinda playing around, but he gave him a look as if to say "what a stupid cunt, you're hot? Take your ****ing coat of then dickhead!"
