Corrales vs Castillo. That 10th round was ridiculous, I've lost count how many times i've watched that fight. I always show that fight to people who are interested in watching boxing and haven't seen much.
Gatti/Ward I really think Castillo was on his way to a KO victory but Corrales cheated and turned the tide. Gatti/Ward rd 9 was a perfect example of a war.
Ill go with Ward vs Gatti. The commentary really added to the fight, Castillo vs Corrales was fought at a higher skill level but the toughness of Gatti Ward especially in that round was amazing.
As a New Englander I'm inclined to go with the Ward fight, but I'll pick Castillo-Corrales round 10 because of Goosen's crystal clear "u gotta ****in get inside on him now!" and it ended the fight. That said, at the time I saw Gatti-Ward 1 I definitely thought the ref shoulda stopped the fight at the end of the 9th-- right before Lampley started yelling "stop it Frank! you can stop it anytime!"
both amazing rounds, but ill go with Castillo Corrales rd 10.
The unexpected ending did it for me, after getting put down twice, to see him get up and force a tKO stoppage after such a punishing fight was special. Even if he did spit out his mouth piece to buy time
that finish was amazing
awesome rounds. but i go with Gatti/Ward. As good as roudn 10 was with Corrales and Castillo, i still always feel bad for Castillo. it was kind of cheap in a way with Corrales getting all that time by spitting out the mouthpeice. It made it a lot more exciting, but i cant help but feel bad for Castillo.
IMO Gatti-Ward was better because the fight commentary with Steward, Lampley, and Merchant was hilarious.
"HE GOTTA HIT HIM TO THE BODY! HIT HIM TO THE BODY! THERE! THERE!" - Emanuel Steward
"Before this fight you'd think we might have had a fight of the year but never the fight of the century!" - Jim Lampley
"THIS IS A FIGHT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE 1950s!!!!!!!" - Jim Lampley
Steward was barely a commentator that fight. He was screaming and shet.
steward screaming hit him to the body was hilarious.but the commentary for that fight did add a lot.
both amazing rounds, but ill go with Castillo Corrales rd 10.
