You're all taking as though Haye did not cut it at heavyweight............wasn't he Heavyweight World Champion after beating 7 foot Valuev? Yes he was!
The man who posted above who said Haye is a natural heavyweight is correct, he is, he always struggled to make Cruiser. He's also taller than people realise.
He's lost 1 fight at Heavyweight to Wladimir..in his first fight against a man that big with skill.
No disgrace in my eyes, at all - comments like f*uck Haye are just ill educated - the man talked so he made money and you're also failing to realise Haye has talked before every fight and delivered on all but 2 ocassions. His persona in interviews is very different to the trash talk, he's a nice guy.
alright, i'll give you the valuev fight - even though it was one if the Sh**est hw fights i've seen in recent times, and that's saying something.
so who else is there in this glitering career -
a washed up joh ruiz
monte barret
audrey harrison
and then when he stepped up the calibre of fighter, he got a serious beat-down.....but i suppose that was because of his toe.
you can't polish a turd.
You missed the majority of his entire career..at cruiserweight.
A serious beat down?!! Is your name Piers Morgan? More spin than him
This isn't true though. Wlad was only able to land his jab consistently for 2 rounds(10 and 11). Haye was doing a good job of avoiding most of Wlad's shots. His biggest problem was that he didn't throw enough punches. He was making Wlad miss a lot but never followed up on it.
It's his work rate that prevented him from beating Wlad.
Yep spot on. Haye's head movement was one of the best things he did in the fight and one of his best attributes, Wlad missed an awful lot with the jab. You could see Haye was trying to give him the jab to counter, he'd get 1 punch home but couldnt follow with the 2nd. He did far better than most give credit.
It was his first time in with a heavyweight that big with that skill.
on a skill level he's better than wlad, there's no doubt about that. wlad has size and knows how to use it very well along with a good jab. haye didn't perform as bad as everyone makes out. he did try but was simply to small to land enough good shots.
Correct.
But you get too many children on this forum who aren't capable of holding decent discussion.
Stupidest post in the thread. You clearly don't know what "world champion" means. The Heavyweight world champion was and remains Wlad Klitschko. Valuev was ranked #6 at the time. The fact Valuev held a meaningless bauble (which he didn't even win in the ring) is neither here nor there, other than in the sense that it gave Haye a lot more financial clout in his subsequent negotiations.
I suppose you think that the current World Heavyweight Champion is Povetkin - after all, he currently holds the same meaningless bauble Haye used to hold ....
What on earth are you talking about. He was WBA heavyweight champion.
Povetkin is a different story along with the Super champion crap.
Some people do talk some rubbish. Khan is the top man in his division and has not ducked anybody - he is willing to fight the top fighters and to those who say he wants the pay day, Khan is already a multi millionaire and often talks of his legacy.
Mayweather is not a God (believe it or not)
This ^^^
He can't take a punch. Price is the HW in Britain to look out for, huge puncher.
Price got knocked down by Fury in the amateurs lol, and remember Fury is only 23, Price 28...
Barker did great up until he QUIT. That last punch was 80% blocked he was just tired of getting potshotted and buckled. Head punch knockouts dont make you squirm in pain. Pretty good acting, but those who know Boxing saw that he quit and took a dive
It's just terrible when people sit behind computers and talk crap about fighters who give honest efforts in the ring. I was at ringside and saw the knockout, he was out of it from the previous round. Unfortunately you don't know how to interpret much of what you see in the ring because you lack a firm understanding of the sport.
Luckily this posters comment is not the accepted perspective of what happened, so his attempt to bring the sport down will ultimately fail.
Well said.
Thank goodness this BUM is gone! I always knew he couldn't beat a K-brother. I also don't think he could ever beat the other true top-5 heavyweights like Areaola, Chambers, Adamek...hell, even Shannon Briggs could have beaten him IMO...He was never as good as he claimed and the Klitschko brothers proved that. He doesn't really want to fight Vitali...
BUM, BUM, BUM! So happy he is gone...Rid the boxing-world of his Bull****!
Explain why David Haye is a BUM?
You name Adamek as a true top 5 heavyweight...Haye is a lot bigger than Adamek. Haye would likely beat all of those you name quite easily.
He's not in shape, and if anything went backwards (literally lol) in this fight. I've never seen a man of his size look so uncomfortable when he is being pressed.
Needs a proper trainer, one used to big heavyweights.
Two division world champ, LOL. That litte japanese dude is like a 15 division champion or some sh*t!
Thats a joke but i honestly think thats how alot of people seem to think, the way "fans" are/have treated Haye since his loss is pretty much how they treated Hamed. They get behind him until they loss and then call them sh*t.
Its your typical British boxing fan pub goer.
What's funny about being a 2 division world champion? Have you done it?
What Mayweather did was technically not a foul but was morally wrong as Ortiz clearly had his hands down and was looking at the referee, to hit the guy who isn't even looking or expecting the punch could have been very dangerous, but it was within the rules and ultimately the fault lies with the referee. Ortiz was confused with what was happening, Mayweather took full advantage by motioning to hug Ortiz and Cortez hadn't even called time in and wasn't even watching. Bottom line is, Cortez needs removing from top flight boxing, he isn't fit to do it - it's big big money now that people pay to go and watch and also pay to watch at home, the least you expect is a referee who can do the basics. Overall a bit of shame the fight didn't play out in the proper way. A few people saying a lesson learnt for Ortiz, I would agree with that to an extent, but the referee in no way helped the situation.
Attention British boxing fans...I'm curious if the fans and the british press are still supporting this piece of sh1t fighter!! I know there are some fans that just get so riled up from the negative backlash Haye has received since "toegate", that they end up actually defending this fukking guy. But seriously, I really wonder what the UK public is feeling towards Haye and if they are willing to support him WHEN he decides to fight again.
I am a British boxing fan and I'm English. I will always support Haye. I've said many times that most of you guys know him from the Klitschko fight and that fight only - you've judged him on one fight. Most of us Brits appreciate what he has done. He unified the cruiserweight division and gave us heavyweight boxing again.
He's also a very nice guy outside the ring, very honest in interviews and not the persona perceived in the build up to the Klitschko fight, he has said many many times he did that to try and rile Klitschko into becoming emotionally involved - it didn't work, which he also admits. He's always had a lot of time for the British public as well, often at British fights with time for everyone.
It's very easy from abroad to sit there and say what a dick etc etc, but you are judging him on 1 fight. Haye hates to lose, the toe thing was a little embarrassing but I think purely born out of frustration. Don't worry I don't expect considered replies to this, never happens when it comes to Haye
Some of you need to show more respect. You're judging the man on 1 fight. He unified the cruiserweight division and then won the Heavyweight title, not too shabby and against a man 7 stone heavier than him. Those who have followed his career closely will know, he was plagued by injuries.
Sad day for British boxing as the man is very talented. Yes he talked the talk but all bar 2 fights he walked the walk. He's also a really nice bloke outside the ring.
The irony is, there's probably more trash talk on this forum than Haye ever did.
I don't consider getting on your bike a skill that would make him a better boxer than the K-bros.
size was an issue for Adamek too, but atleast Adamek didn't go out like a biitch like Haye
No - Adamek was stopped. What's the point in using Adameks tactics if you are going to lose?! Hayes gameplan was the better one and more realistic against a much bigger guy - be a bit suicidal to go in all hell to leather alas Adamek.
And where did I say 'getting on your bike' makes Haye the better technically?
He hardly said 5 or 6 fights and I'm out!
Cleverly is a good boxer but his danger is his trainer..who encourages him to get involved in a brawl, it'll lead to him getting sparked eventually
His entire boxing goal was to unseat the K brothers.....nothing more. Talk about a narrow-minded goal. The wannabe Klitchko decapitator like all bullies, end up with their tail between their legs and their teeny tiny toe along with their ego....actually just their ego bruised. Someone at his retirement should have thrown about 20 of those shirts at Haye showing the decapitation picture. Looks like Wlad decapitated Haye after all. Justice, pure justice.
This is just 1 of the many posts on this thread who pretend to know about David Haye. All many of you know is the Wladimir fight, that's it.
Haye's goal was to unify the cruiserweight divison and become heavyweight champion. He did that.
Kudos to Haye.
These are the same type of comments that Haye spent three years rehashing over and over for the gullible British media.
:lol1: @ "brilliant boxing brain"
Erm Mormeck? One of the most ridiculous heavyweight fights ever!!!
Is Haye a bad boxer then?
Cleverly is in a different league to Bellew. Bellew is seen as a bit of a laughing stock in the UK.
He has talked big for this fight, whilst Cleverly has just gone about his business, going to look a fool in his home town
Ricky Hatton was a terrific fighter, great heart and a very good on top fighter. A legend in the UK and a really truly good guy. Sky are regularly showing his shows now, been good so far
