Sonny Liston was a tough street fighter. He was also big, strong, and mean. George Foreman would also give him trouble. And +1 on Tyson. Vitali was also a kickboxer i believe, and has the size and punch to give Fedor a challenge in any style of fighting.
Just adds to his great accting abilities. Hopkins knows people were crying bullshit and he just wants to make it look authentic.
My thoughts exactly. Hopkins acted like a bitch.
He was recently reviewed by a parole board, and they found him to be just as insane as the first time around. He is a psycho killer material. I mean, if a guy has different circumstances about him, then yeah, but a guy who done a violent crime and is appearing to be potentially threatening should not be paroled
I just read an interview with him, and in it he seemed like a changed man, but whether or not it was a show, or if that is how he truly feels is a different story. Since being incarcerated, he has recieved at least two degrees, and tries to do alot of reading and answering fan mail. He seems to have taken the religious path also, which if he is being truthful, then I believe he has changed, and I feel he should be released. But then again, I didn't sit in on the parole hearing, so I don't know.
But let me ask you this, if his name was say...Mike Tyson, would he still be in prison?
you gonna get ripped off.
I doubt it, even if the fight is a snoozer, it will probably be Roy's last fight, Hopkins possibly too, what better way to see it then on the big screen. I live too far away from Vegas to ever see any big fights, so this is the next best thing.
I still haven't seriously found ONE nut hugger/fan of him even considering how popular he is :lol1:.
I used to love De La Hoya, and I still feel that he was robbed in just about every big fight that went the distance. But I started to get annoyed with him when he stopped caring whether he won or lost, like his excuse after the Mayweather fight, where he was talking about just not using his jab. And then he would tell fighters (Cotto) that he was going to give him his shot and then instead chose to fight bigger money fights such as Pacquiao.
One of the best fights I have ever seen was his battle with Vargas. That was an edge of the seat fight. I would like to see it again.
Ali vs. Cleveland Williams. Ali's most dominant performance.
And how could I forget Balboa vs. Drago. Most action packed fight in history. Who needs defense?
Im a boxer and a boxing fan first but youre very wrong my friend. UFC kills boxing in terms of PPV buys and does more than Boxing and TNA, WWE combined. Like I said im a boxer, but i do enjoy watching ufc fights because some dudes in there can box alright, and they do alotta other shit too. But Id rather watch a big boxing fight anyday over a big UFC fight personally
Proof? I've always read the opposite.
They can't compete with the sweet science right now. But unfortunately most regular fans would rather see guys with no skills stand toe to toe until somebody gets knocked out. I'd rather see a display of actual technical skill and a unanimous decision than that crap. :unitedsta
And what is UFC going to do when their last few big names are too old to fight. Look at their headliners now, Couture vs. Coleman as a main event? Silva vs. Bisping? And we get the treat of Lidell vs. Ortiz again later in the year? They are beating a dead horse. As soon as Anderson Silva, GSP, and Penn retire, there wont be any reason to watch.
he was very outspoken when it came to his inner thoughts. he wasn't afraid to tell the press he was scared or worried about a fight
his dialogues with the press were often compared to the conversations between a psychologist and his patient.
Green K! He was also very introverted, and always seemed on the verge of a breakdown, often wearing fake beards and glasses when leaving a fight he had lost.
if they do a biopic on Floyd Patterson, they will need to get Mos Def for the leading role, huge resemblance.
Actually, I have always thought the guy from The Rookie with Dennis Quaid would be perfect. I think his name was Brooks in the movie.
you're asking two different questions. tyson WAS top p4p in his prime.
Show me where Tyson was ever ranked in the p4p ratings? I was using him as an example, the question was a heavyweight dropping weight to fight smaller guys. I just used Tyson because in his prime he was a smallish heavyweight usually weighing around 212 - 216lbs.
Who isn't should be the question! I mean both these men have given us great fights. I see this fight as 50/50, but I got to root for the home team.
I have a hard time being a pac fan just for the fact that I am a Barrera fan, a Marquez fan, a De La Hoya fan, and a Hatton fan. If Pac beats Roy Jones, then I will never be a fan.
UD for Pac. Clottey lets fighters tee off on him and we saw last night Pac has no problem with big punches at welterweight.
But would his punches hurt Clottey? Clottey has a hell of a chin.
Posters need to stop making threads asking to mark their words. Look what happened to Mr. President.
De La Hoya will never come out of retirement,
Should we mark your words on this?
hell yeah , boxing was never dying , im sure cotto pac sales were bettr than ufc 105
Well UFC 105 was free on ****e, but I bet it had better sales than UFC 100 which was their highest ppv card.
LOL. I have no problems if you see the pac-pbf as an easy fight for pbf. Or Cotto might destroy Pac. I do have doubts that you are a mayweather fan/stan and most probably dislike pac... IMO, you should change the title of your thread.
Sorry to disappoint, but I am far from a Mayweather fan. Every fight of his my wife and I play a drinking game where she gets Mayweather, and I take the opposite, and everytime Harold Lederman gives the round to Mayweather I have to drink, and everytime the opponent gets a round she drinks. Needless to say I always wind up drinking the most. I never pick Floyd.
With that forum name, you gotta be kidding!
Freudian Floyd was a nickname given to former heavyweight champ Floyd Patterson (see picture in avatar). It in no way has anything to do with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Some of you should do some research.
someone with knowledge i hate floyd but he beats pac
cotto/pac 50/50 im rooting for cotto
Definitely rooting for Cotto over Pac. And I think Cotto would embarrass Floyd, I just feel Floyd's style and the fact that he is naturally bigger but just as slick and fast makes Pac and easy fight.
Fire Larry Merchant and Steward. Kellerman doesn't act like he is the reason people watch boxing. Larry thinks he is the talent, but his monologues always lead off on strange tangents that have nothing to do with boxing. And Emmanuel Steward picks the fighter he thinks is going to win before the fight even starts and then puts down everything the other fighter does from the start, and never gives them credit when they do something well. Keep Kellerman, and Lampley, and bring back Big George!!!
He should really be mauling guys. Cant think of any reason why he hasnt decapitated someone already?
It could have something to do with the fighter you mention being 7 inches tall with an 85 foot reach. :pat: J/K, but really size doesn't mean anything. He's slow, awkward, and under skilled. He is only competing in the elite class due to his size, and the fact that he can take a punch. He is more of a sideshow.
