thats a maybe...
him beating foreman and claiming a belt in a 3rd division will tie him with Puerto Rico's most though (Tito Trinidad)...
that'll help him get that hall of fame vote for sure...
oh and it's controversial, but the WBO president did say pacquiao was the number 1 contender for the belt so cotto did have to put the title on the line...(which is why he said something like "i can only fight for this title at a catchweight of 145 lbs. and if i have to fight for my title at a catchweight of 143lbs, then i'm giving it up"...
so he did want that weight and we cant hate on pac for that either....i mean, sugar ray leonard got his light heavyweight belt at a catch weight of 168 lbs, compared to the usual of 175lbs., so give pac his dues, he's ATG and cotto has no shame for losing to pacmeng
in regards to that hall of fame status though?
that's why im rooting for cotto big time in this fight and i'm really excited that he got steward in there....
and you definitely right when saying "it's hard NOT to root for cotto"...
dude is a come forward, all action type of fighter....isnt all brawl and has tons of boxing skills...
FEARLESS - COTTO!!!
a lot of mainstream people dont wanna see it...
but i damn sure still wanna see cotto and mayweather duke it out....
i remember cotto getting all pissed at floyd (and cotto never talks smack - dude has tons of class) for retiring and doing the WWE thing lol...he had interviews on boxingscene saying "i know i can beat mayweather" and "thats all he does is avoid dangerous fights" something like that...
but cotto, is one of the top dudes on my list for today's pressure fighters....
actually fireman he said at 145 he would fight pacquiao because they agreed to it but they agreed to a non title fight then pacquiao and his trainer cockroach were saying they wanted the title on the line and cotto said no and thats when the wbo stepped in and said cotto would have to put the title on the line or be stripped and cotto didnt want to until they offered him more money so he finally did
lol im tryna read ur post but just all distracted with all that...ahhhhh lol
and oh, its kinda in the back of my memory as to what happened with the wbo and negotiation bs, but its all about cotto, bro.....COTTO!!!!
Hes a hall of famer though.
thats a maybe...

i fkin hope the judges give a decision to roy lmao....hopkins deserves that........no respect for hopkins at all (and they say he's a warrior GTFOH)...****ing up a sport i love
He was just off balance though, but should have been called.
off balance or not, zab timed him coming in perfectly....its a knockdown and it did rock him...peep it 1 more time on HD
Im seeing threads "is cotto past his best?" "should cotto retire?" all this BS.
The dude fought arguably the best fighter of are era and put up a hellova fight against him will doing it.
Just cause pacuiao washed de la hoya and hatton and they retired, doesnt mean a better, young cotto should.
We'll see June 6th who should be retiring.
Does any1 else agree with me? :boxing:
100% agree with you bro...
class act...spoken like a true champion
plus, we all know he could ask jimmy kimmel to get them together and then we'll see how much corolla would say in front of him...but that's just in my dream world lol
Andre Berto over Carlos Quintana (April 10th) for 3K
Antwone Smith over Isreal Cardona (On the Berto-Quintana undercard) for 1K
Evander Holyfield over Francois Botha (April 10th) for 2K
Anyone disagree and would like to make a bet? In need of bets with fight night drawing near so if anyone wants to take one or all of these bets, pm me to confirm or just reply here!
i saw that you picked "the rabbi" lol, yuri foreman over cotto....i never thought i'd use this website for betting fights but sounds fun...
i don't think i got much points, but i could bet you all of them that **COTTO will beat FOREMAN**.....?
that EPO has nothing to do with what people are suspicious in regards to pacquiao taking peds...
people were in awe to see a little dude like pacquiao take punches from probably the hardest puncher in the welterweight class, and arguably the best fighter in that class (given the fact he beat moslet and his lose against margarito was controversial but...)...
also you look at what the mayweathers are accusing pacquiao of taking...they are saying that he is on something that allows you to take shots from even bullets and still come forward because they were amazed of how filipinos were able to still keep fighting when being shot during the Philippine-American war or whatever they had said which was ridiculous imo lol...
pacquiao has always been a high work rate type of fighter and always keeps punching regardless of him being hit or not...so that drug and its benefits dont fall into what people are amazed by him...there is no ped that has an effect that allows you to take punishment like that...
imo...i think people are amazed at his ability to take punishment and what they need to understand is this dude knows how much he means to his country so he'll die in that ring...
my fav fighter of all time, roberto duran, had a similar mentality as well with his country panama...i mean duran got knocked out at lightweight be lenny de jesus, but was able to take punches from the second greatest welterweight, ray leonard (and they also fought at middleweight), and duran also took punches from arguably the 1st or 2nd greatest middleweight, marvin hagler, and people dont suspect a top 10 ATG like duran??? why???
imo people are just amazed at pac's natural born fighting mentality...i mean the next toughest guy is probably cotto rite? and when cotto started to get really hurt, he started backpedaling and running...pac would look at him in disgust because pac always says if u want to beat me, your gonna have to knock me out...
fighters nowaways were taught as kids or teenagers to become great champions and there isnt as much people into sport like it use to be...back in the day, boxing was one of the most popular sports, so many people got into it, and only the greats stuck out
pac is just one of a kind and imo, there will never be a fighter like him again...
(he's got the killer instinct roberto duran, the hand speed of ray leonard, the ability to knock your opponent out at an angle and take a punch as well (ray robinson), and when he first came to the states he was just a left handed brawler in the lower weight classes that could knock you out cold in one punch (mike tyson)...
im not saying he's just as good as the other greats i compared him to...I AM JUST SAYING, HE HAS SOME OF THE SAME TRAITS that people love about the other fighters...and im a huge boxing fan, and will always appreciate what pacquiao has brought to the sport of boxing
here you go...im sure people just 'overreacted'
damn, thats the first i saw that shit and it does sound fked up rite?
when i first heard corollas shit also, i thought the same shit im thinking now..
WOW, the was crazy man....
filipinos have a right to be mad man...thats a low blow and yall cant be criticizing the philippines for a backlash...
it seems like yall are hating on pactards, ok, but dont criticize the entire country for these events
Pac threw 1231 punches against Clottey. With vicious intentions. When's the last time he threw that many...against anyone at any weight?
common, most those punches really weren't vicious...a lot were yeah, but most were jabs and crosses that were just touching clotteys guard to get him to open up....
someone else said it also, but what do u expect when dealing with a heavy bag lol
We would need videotape of Armstrong at feather and at welter to compare, no? Nevertheless, it is still not a valid comparison.
Manny Pacquiao is nearing 60 fights. 60. Throwing 1231 punches in his last fight. He has fought through seven divisions. Seven.
Do you understand? Telling me that he works on workrate in the gym tells me nothing. Yeah, most users like to use specifically FOR training.
ARMSTRONG had 181 fights!!! 151 wins with 101 knockouts!!! (including the bigger opponents!
you talking about winning championships at 126lbs all the way up to 160 lbs...
Which one is it? Most weren't vicious or a lot were? And how did you count them?
And yeah, I responded to that someone already.
watch the fight dude(but im not, that shit was boring lmao)
pac was pawing with the jab and cross throughout most of every round
Adam Carrola followers on here say he has said things about blacks all the time.
yeah but what he said was all the philippines is about is manny pacquiao and sex tours...common man, thats OD..he said a lot more other ish but i cant remember....
yall filipinos have every right to get mad...
same with that kramer shit when talking about slaves and hanging them and that...same exact ish rite there
dont get mad at filipinos for feeling offended man...
Dont tell me to quit talking.
All said about the Philliphines is that when Pac fights the country shuts down and that Pac is the main priority.
Pac fans have even said that.
that aint all he said, lets be honest
Yeah, as you continue to move up in weight, you are unable to maintain the same activity...this includes the GYM!
lmao...listen man, if you wanna be the last one on this thread be my guest, cuz i feel you with that lol
ignorance is bliss, feel me?
bro, idk if you box competitively (but u probably do cuz everyone on boxingscene says they do lol)....but when dealing with certain fighters, your trainer will want you to work on workrate and stamina...and thats what u do in the fight
damn, this was posted on that website yesterday too...it really looks like roach might have lost a bonafied future star in boxing lol
rigondeaux is also gonna be fighting on the undercard of berto vs quintana this weekend on hbo so ima see whats up with his corner
i've read that freddie roach was trying to get him to kind of pressure his opponent when he has them hurt or they're afraid of his power, and rigondeaux still kept waiting for his opponent to come to him...
roach even said to him that americans love fighters that can go after their opponents and finish them off...he even said how his fellow countryman, gamboa, was getting a lot of hype and attention because of that and that he could train rigondeaux to be like gamboa...
thing is....rigondeaux beat gamboa in the olympics (i think on 2 seperate occasions) and who knows, maybe rogondeaux took offense to that....
i haven't heard roach mention anything about rigondeaux in quite some time and i always felt that his counter punching style would clash with roach's (eddie futch's style actually) style....i would think to myself that damn, i wonder if this dude doesnt like roach's style and goes to another trainer who trained a great counter puncher (mayweather jr)....
sucks for roach, every single trainer in the world wanted this dude too
Armstrong never fought at 160. And I don't know boxing?
yeah, ok.
so he never fought at middleweight???
ok, im done...i usually dont reply to threads because of this...but i had some fun...
thanks to whoever started this thread it was a good one for me...
now im just gonna keep on, keeping on lol...
take care dazed, your good peoples

ARMSTRONG is your worst debate...but how about the easier ones with leonard, duran, robinson lol???
Funny, because even today some of the "fans" don't care about PEDs usage- especially Pacquiao fans...an observation.
i care about it, im a big time boxing fan, a boxer myself, and a pacquiao fan...
i love pacquiao and followed his career but i could tell u one thing...i prob know more about mayweather than some of his loyal fans on this website...
well, i think u started this thread and i said it on another post but it was a good one....thanks man, take it easy...got to handle business lol
Best Drake line, hands down.
definitely....not to get off topic, but FABOLOUS said that line way before drake...
not that this petition thing isnt off topic already on a boxing forum lol....
but thats what makes boxingscene tick i guess lol
is not on tv are you going to attend if so let us know who is on his corner
yeah man, it's just a couple of hours away and i love going to boxing events whether its a big time show or whatever...plus, i got sources all around florida, so definitely...
i've read that freddie roach was trying to get him to kind of pressure his opponent when he has them hurt or they're afraid of his power, and rigondeaux still kept waiting for his opponent to come to him...

sucks for roach, every single trainer in the world wanted this dude too
also heard an interview from ellie seckback that had a member of team rigondeaux saying that mayweather's style is beautiful and pacquiao's is good so lol....
nothing im done lol...u win
bro, i've answered every one of your questions but your only taking in what u wanna hear lol..."in one and out the other" is a saying people use...
another question u asked was name fighters that moved up in weight while maintaining their workrate...
roberto duran, ray leonard moving up to light heavyweight, tommy hearns, ray robinson, and MOST ESPECIALLY - HENRY ARMSTRONG....
now i dont think steroids existed in armstrongs time (maybe they did, im sure you'll question it lol)
ARMSTRONG - featherweight champ - welterweight champ (should of won middleweight as well)
u prob dont have vids of the man, but i tell u won thing....his workrate maintained even more than pacmans
by armstrongs workrate, i mean he threw the same amount of punches in fights as a featherweight all the way up to middle weight....
