What happens if Conor lies down on the ground like Nick Diaz did against Anderson Silva at the start of the first round?
If Floyd doesn't touch him it's not a knockdown.
The ref would just ask him to stand up maybe?
I hope he does that. Would make for a funny picture if nothing else.
Conor has been practicing superman punches in sparring
which is faking a kick and coming with a punch, it makes people instinctively drop their hands... for MMA fighters, it also makes them instinctively try to check the kick
So you will probably see Conor faking MMA strikes to set up punches, it would throw floyd off..

except Conor beat up Van Heerden too... when you watch 6 minutes of footage rather than short cell phone clips
much lighter sparring anyway, seemed like hes been turning it up with Paulie, deeper into the camp now
Has nobody picked up on how poor is punching is in those clips, damn he looks slow and sluggish, no natural snap with his combinations. If 11 seconds of highlights out of 36 minutes is all they could muster he's in big trouble against Floyd.
I saw one meaningful punch, the one he loaded up on where Paulie was static after he was pushed down and off balance then caught by an exceptionally poor shot to send him down after the push/slip. Dude even hits Paulie on top of his head, his technique is woeful.
you should send this top secret information to his coaches at his million dollar camp, stat!
lmfao fkin internet experts
I don't know who this Khabib guy you are referring to but I do know for a fact that McGregor's purse will be a fraction of what he's getting to fight Floyd.
hes a beast. a very popular russian with a huge Russian following. some argue that because theres so many Russians behind him that he actually is bigger in Russia than Conor is in Ireland
the guy wrestled real life bears as a child.. plus hes undefeated at 24-0 (which is VERY rare in MMA) which sets up an opportunity for Conor to play out the Rocky 4 scenario.. Conor has balls if he truly does want to travel to fight the guy in his home land.. and hes not just from Russia, hes from the scary parts of Russia in the north caucasus (chechnya/dagestan)
and they already have beef.. he rips on Conor and Ireland in this video infront of Conor's crowd! (Conor was fighting that night too)
and Dana telling the world that Conor personally asked for Khabib after the Floyd fight
I don't think Floyd will be Conor's last fight... i think he wants to conquer the Russian market too
are you kidding me fatboy? this fight will be over before mcgregor even has the chance to taunt. DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK THIS FIGHT IS GOING PAST 1 SECOND? mcgregor is going to throw and land a 42-punch combo during the first second of the fight and kill mayweather. he will be taken out of the ring in a casket. grow up.
wouldnt be surprised tbh... floyd is old and brittle.. just look at him
http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Floyd+Mayweather+Sr+gPEicoTwwN8m.jpg
imagine when conor is done with him hes gonna look even more aged... taken too many punches
So if Floyd beats Conor in the Octagon, which MMA fighter can hang with Floyd, hypothetically speaking...?
that can't happen because MMA is an expanded form of boxing while Boxing is a limited form of MMA
Conor's specialty is his hands... so is Floyds specialty... adding grappling would be meaningless because Floyd isn't testing his grappling skills in another sport that involves grappling. its Conor testing his hands in another sport that involves hands
again, im not gonna argue this i just am curious on peoples opinions. i still dont understand why you are actually trying to argue over these factoids that don't pertain to the thread. im guessing this whole fight has you mad. its alright dude, calm down
judging on your posts, you probably don't think anyone can beat Conor if he actually does destroy Floyd... seeing as how you constantly are avoiding a simple hypothetical that really.. not surprised though. i dont think many would think they could beat Conor if he destroys floyd
Hes started 18 Connor mcgreggor threads in the space of a month. Its like hes constantly trying to convince everybody of his delusions and is constantly looking for validation from others.
no, its because i am 100% convinced conor is going to KO floyd. and anyone with logic can see why that there is a huge chance of this happening and likely will for certain reasons. get out of your little fantasy bubble and face reality. this is a fight.
so im seizing on this opportunity to force all you purists out now before the fight so that way when the fight is over there will be no excuses and i can laugh knowing i was right and you all thought i was the idiot but in the end i was right (i may be doing it with some comedic touch and hyperbolic truths and in a snobby way, but that only makes it all the better in the end)
my IQ far exceeds what yours could ever be and when I am proven right, you will learn not to ever disagree with what i say
The first one was definitely a knockdown, uppercut... the second one Conor made him look like a fuucking amateur wow!
HOLY SH1T FLOYD IS FUUCKED!!!!
For all the people who think Thenotoriousmma can't box. This is gonna be a FIGHT!!!! For those that don't know this is Conor vs Paulie Malignaggi former IBF and WBA World Champion. A post shared by Dana White (@danawhite) on Aug 11, 2017 at 8:43pm PDT
Lmao! Soooo, a sport that doesn't allow kicks or they superman punches will be what makes Floyd drop his hands? Idiot
another idiot who cannot logically think
when did I say that his training for the sport would be the catalyst to the reasoning of him dropping his hands?
its a natural human reflex, especially those who have not experienced it.
if you are a boxing person, and you step into a sparring match with an MMA fighter... if he fakes a kick and your brain is smart enough to detect and notice basic incoming strikes like kicks, or if you have natural human reflexes in fking general, you, like many other boxers would naturally not know how to react to a kick coming at you so you would attempt to block it with whats in your arsenal at that moment, your arms. reason being you havent trained for that situation
so like many people who have never kickboxed and attempt to spar, they almost always try to block kicks by dropping their hands rather than checking it because thats not what they're trained to do... Idiot
next time try to think outside the box a bit. your primitive thinking will get you no where and only make you seem retarded
some more for good measure

McGregor says he wants to fight Khabib after he fights Floyd.. so hes going back to MMA then retiring after that fight. thats my prediction now
hes a business man, it sounds like hes signing the last two fights of his career... big pay day with floyd, then he will capture the Russian market and then get his ass kicked by khabib and retire rich
so whether he destroys Floyd or not, we probably wont see any other boxer challenge him in the ring..he will probably just go out 1-0 and history will just see him as that one guy who had that x factor to cross sports and win... no one else will repeat it
This is that Golovkins guys alt people..they are posting the exact same rubbish
im not anyones alt, im just a guy whose intrigued by the fight and googled "boxing forum" and found this place so I could prep myself to laugh at some of you guys when the fight is over because i knew you would be quick to call me an idiot for my "wild" opinions
Paulie took the conmans best shot, his leff hand, and didnt faze him. Paulie won that rnd 10-8
heres a preview of conor vs floyd
http://i.imgur.com/T3dT2kR.gif
omg youre soooo fvcking stoooooopid!!! Ban this pole smoking loser
great argument.
my point has been proven. primitive mind. logic is too much for you to handle
You're going to be crying on the floor on August 26th that your boy fantasy didnt become reality and Conors head will be bouncing off the floor
itll the other way around.... it always is with Mystic Mac, hes never wrong... Conor always proves the doubters wrong, while Floyd always gives lackluster performances. Conor hits way harder
i dont think Conor's head will be bouncing off any floor any time soon , especially since Floyd can barely KO anyone anymore and Conors never even been knocked down or out with 4ounce gloves... let alone 8 or 10 ounce...
Yeah his last fight he was beat up and stopped by a journeyman level fighter.
I like how the excuses are all coming out now but all you heard on this forum before the videos dropped were "I believe Paulie! No way McGregor worked him! It was a push!"
What happened to all of you people? Now when the evidence gets dropped, suddenly Paulie is sh1t..
Floyd literally got no idea whats in store for him.
Conor gonna walk into Boxing, take off the King's head, and walk out the champion, then hes gonna go fight the undefeated Bear fighting man in Chechnya from Russia named Khabib.. like Rocky 4

https://youtu.be/0GMwRQWjRPA?t=184 diaz rocked his ass
Diaz is 6'0, walks at 200lbs and has a 76 inch reach.. and conor still beat him
comparing those fights to what conor will look like against floyd is idiotic, and you know it.
plus, Conor decisively outboxed Diaz last August and won the fight in a full 5 round fight despite being much smaller. he knew to pace himself rather than wasting his energy trying to KO a much bigger guy like he did in the first one.
Conor's potential opponents in boxing aren't going to be Diaz size
You live in a fantasy world of you think Conor will beat Canelo let alone Floyd. Canelo would KO Conor inside of 4.
thats why its called a hypothetical question.
you don't have to reaffirm to everyone who smart because you understand that on paper Conor should lose this fight.. thats not the point of this thread
Nothing impressive. Too amateurish. Paulie is no Floyd.
oh now its "Nothing impressive. Paulie is no Floyd"
before it was, "Conor is a liar! Paulie got pushed down! He definitely most likely schooled Conor I believe him!"
:haha::haha::haha:
Unorthodox? How did Pacquiao fight? Look at Pac's highlights against Floyd, Conor doesn't have that IQ to simply snap extend a Jab in close range. Ward is another type that gets away with snapping jabs on a pounce.
Furthermore, Kovalev is very unorthodox. Ward was able to tame it the second time rather easily. Kovalev attacks sideways being able to lunge a left or a right simultaneously.
Again, such upper echelon styles are true unorthodox, not some MMA fighter trying to move like PAC and less fast nor experience with 10oz gloves...
so you want to go onto a full debate about whether Conor is unorthodox instead of simply just answering a hypothetical question about who you think could challenge him should he beat Floyd?
man some of you are so daft.
and yes, Conor is by far more unorthodox than Manny just for the main fact that his style of striking is kickboxing based. the guy is sparring for Floyd and practicing superman punches and sh1t.... do you see Manny faking leg kicks to throw punches in boxing?
Conor moves his arms and switches stances in weird manners and its worked for him very well.. what the hell does Manny have to do with this
Conor is a completely different puzzle from Manny just for the fact that hes an unknown
but thanks again, for derailing a thread that i made because i was genuinely curious what people thought about who should challenge Conor should he win...
The best part about it is that he is actually going to KO Floyd within 2 rounds... thats what is going to make this whole thing funny in the end.
Because these "retards" are gonna end up being right in the end and all of you purists who thought you were so smart and knew what was gonna happen are gonna be shocked after Conor toys with Floyd
Remember, crazy things happen in this world.... this is going to be one of those things. theres a lot of factors that suggest Conor can very well win this fight and do it in dominant fashion
There's a video on YouTube of a guy called Van Heerden doe... but it amuses how many posters push to sell this May vs McNugget
you mean cell phone footage of light sparring session before his official camp even started?
yea i saw that
heres 6 minutes of that same session...
not what the topic is about anyway so stop trying to spin it into another episode of "lets bash the conor/floyd fight because I dont like it and im a baby who lets my emotions and feelings bother me"
but i assume that you have no answer?
not confident in naming a boxer who you think could beat Conor should he destroy floyd? Its just a hypothetical.. not trying to convince you conor would win.. im trying to get an answer out of who you think could challenge his unorthodoxy if he proves you all wrong
